Ask the girls to raise their hands each time they hear plan in the story and the boys when they hear message. Open your Bible to Isaiah and tell the Bible story in your own words. Bible Story Isaiah lived near Jerusalem in the country of Judah. Isaiah heard God ask, Who will I send to tell people My message? Isaiah said, Send me, God. I will go. Isaiah became a prophet. A prophet tells people what God wants them to know. God had a plan. God chose Isaiah to tell the people some wonderful news. Isaiah wrote down what God told him. Isaiah wrote that a young woman would have a special baby boy. The special baby would be God s Son. The baby would be Jesus. God s message to Isaiah helped the people know that Jesus would love all people. Jesus would help people understand more about God. He would grow into a man. He would be wise. He would help people know and love God. He would always do what is right and would help people. Isaiah wrote the words in a Bible scroll. People who heard or read the words on the Bible scroll knew that God was planning to send His Son, Jesus. Know Bible truths. Show the children the teaching picture. Ask for a volunteer to recall one fact she remembers from the story. Allow her to tell the fact, using the megaphone or paper towel roll. Continue with other children. When the story has been reviewed, ask: What was God s message to Isaiah? Show the Bible marker and say the Bible verse together several times. Do Bible truths. Children will do (live) the Bible truth as they remember God planned for Jesus birth and Isaiah told people about God s plan. Say: Let s try a chant that will help us remember this Bible truth. Guide half of the children to stand and recite: God planned for Jesus birth. Guide the other half of the children to stand and announce: And Isaiah told people about God s plan. Repeat several times. Play a musical game. Play the song Isaiah Told About Jesus (track 1). Stop the music and invite a child to help you find the Book of Isaiah in the Old Testament. Point to the word Isaiah. Invite her to read the word. Continue the song and repeat this with several other volunteers. >> Family Connection Send home the Parent E-mail for December and the Kindergarten Connection weekly pages.
