Calendar Feasts, etc. are given here as they appear in the Ordinariate s proper Calendar. Optional Memorials of the eneral Calendar, or of other dioceses, etc., do not appear here. lease consult a local ordo for more information. here there are two or more optional memorials on the same day, local, geographical, and pastoral considerations will dictate which Mass is celebrated. Readings Readings in bold are the readings from the One-Year Lectionary of the Divine Office. It is permissible, for pastoral reasons, to use this long reading at either or both Morning and Evening rayer on any one day. Readings in bold italics are readings from the first-year track of the Two-Year Lectionary. During 2011-2012, Year II, readings from Year I are used only to ensure that those who use the full Ordinariate Office have sufficient readings for both Morning and Evening rayer. Thus readings in bold italics may be disregarded. Readings neither in bold nor in bold italics are either readings from Year I (where it diverges from the One-Year Lectionary of the Divine Office) or supplementary readings, usually drawn from elsewhere in the Divine Office, to complete the pattern of Old Testament and New Testament readings at Morning and Evening rayer. At Morning or Evening rayer, the first reading may always be as given in the One-Year Lectionary or Year II of the Two-Year Lectionary and the second reading may always be the post-biblical reading given in the Divine Office or the Customary. here there is a choice of readings, a decision may be made on the basis of appropriate length. (It may not be necessary at any one Office to have two long readings). Similarly, where a book is being read in course, a decision may be made on the basis of continuity. On Sundays and solemnities, a ospel reading is offered as an alternative second reading at Evening rayer I. Information on hymns, psalms and other matters is contained after the Ordo proper. [LH = Liturgy of the Hours/Divine Office; Euch I = Eucharistic rayer I] 3

Collects for the Office First Sunday of Advent ALMIHTY od, give us grace that we may cast away the works of darkness, and put upon us the armour of light, now in the time of this mortal life in which thy Son Jesus Christ came to visit us in great humility; that in the last day, when he shall come again in his glorious majesty to judge both the quick and the dead, we may rise to the life immortal; through him who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, one od, now and for ever. or O LORD our od, as we wait for the coming of thy Son our Lord, preserve us in watchfulness and faith, that when he shall appear he may not find us asleep in sin but active to serve him and joyful to praise him; through Jesus Christ thy Son our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one od, now and for ever. Second Sunday in Advent BLESSED Lord, who hast caused all holy Scriptures to be written for our learning; rant that we may in such wise hear them, read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest them, that by patience and comfort of thy holy ord, we may embrace, and ever hold fast, the blessed hope of everlasting life, which thou hast given us in our Saviour Jesus Christ, who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one od, now and for ever. Third Sunday in Advent LORD, we beseech thee, give ear to our prayers, and by thy gracious visitation lighten the darkness of our heart, by our Lord Jesus Christ, who livest with the Father in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one od, now and for ever. 29

or O LORD Jesu Christ, who at thy first coming didst send thy messenger to prepare thy way before thee; rant that the ministers and stewards of thy mysteries may likewise so prepare and make ready thy way, by turning the hearts of the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, that at thy second coming to judge the world we may be found an acceptable people in thy sight, who livest and reignest with the Father and the Holy Spirit ever, one od, now and for ever. Fourth Sunday in Advent O LORD, raise up (we pray thee) thy power, and come among us, and with great might succour us; that whereas, through our sins and wickedness, we are sore let and hindered in running the race that is set before us, thy bountiful grace and mercy may speedily help and deliver us; through the satisfaction of thy Son our Lord, to whom with thee and the Holy Spirit be honour and glory, now and for ever. Christmas Eve O OD, who makest us glad with the yearly remembrance of the birth of thy only Son Jesus Christ; grant that as we joyfully receive him for our Redeemer, so we may with sure confidence behold him when he shall come to be our Judge, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, one od, now and for ever. Christmas Day ALMIHTY od, who hast given us thy only-begotten Son to take our nature upon him, and as at this time to be born of a pure Virgin: grant that we, being regenerate and made thy children by adoption and grace, may daily be renewed by thy Holy Spirit; through Jesus Christ thy Son our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the same Spirit, now and for ever. 30

Sunday after Christmas Day: Holy Family HEAVENLY Father, whose blessed Son shared at Nazareth the life of an earthly home: grant to thy Church grace to live as one family, united in love and obedience, and at the last bring us all to our home in heaven; through Jesus Christ thy Son our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one od, now and for ever. Second Sunday after Christmas ALMIHTY od, who hast poured upon us the new light of thine incarnate ord; grant that the same light enkindled in our hearts may shine forth in our lives; through Jesus Christ thy Son our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one od, now and for ever. Solemnity of Mary, Mother of od (1 January) O OD, who didst vouchsafe that, as at this time, thy ord was made flesh in the womb of the Blessed Virgin Mary: grant to us thy humble servants that we, believing her to be indeed the Mother of od, may by her intercession find favour in thy sight. Through the same Jesus Christ thy Son our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the same Spirit, now and for ever. 2 January until the Epiphany ALMIHTY od, who didst wonderfully create man in thine own image, and didst yet more wonderfully restore him: grant, we beseech thee, that as thy Son our Lord Jesus Christ was made in the likeness of men, so we may be made partakers of the divine nature; through the same thy Son, who with thee and the Holy Spirit liveth and reigneth, one od, now and for ever. Most Holy Name of Jesus (3 January) O OD, who didst appoint thine only-begotten Son to be the Saviour of mankind, and didst command that he should be called Jesus: mercifully grant, that we, who venerate his holy name on earth, may also rejoice to behold him in heaven. e ask this through Jesus Christ thy Son our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one od, now and for ever. 31

or O OD, who hast caused the most glorious Name of our Lord Jesus Christ, thine only-begotten Son, to be loved with the greatest affection by thy faithful, and to be terrible and fearful to evil spirits, mercifully grant that all they who devoutly venerate this Name of JESUS on earth may have part in the sweetness of holy consolations in this present life, and in the world to come may attain unto the fullness of joy and eternal praise; through the same Christ our Lord. Epiphany O OD, who by the leading of a star didst manifest thy only-begotten Son to the entiles: mercifully grant, that we, which know thee now by faith, may after this life have the fruition of thy glorious odhead; through Jesus Christ thy Son our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one od, now and for ever. Baptism of the Lord ETERNAL Father, who at the baptism of Jesus didst reveal him to be thy Son, anointing him with the Holy Spirit: grant that we, being born again by water and the Spirit, may be faithful to our calling as thine adopted children; through Jesus Christ thy Son our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one od, now and for ever. Candlemas ALMIHTY and ever-living od, we humbly beseech thy majesty, that, as thy only-begotten Son was this day presented in the temple, in substance of our flesh, so we may be presented unto thee with pure and clean hearts, by thy Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one od, now and for ever. 32

First Sunday after Epiphany eek 1 per annum O Lord, we beseech thee mercifully to receive the prayers of thy people which call upon thee; and grant that they may both perceive and know what things they ought to do, and also may have grace and power faithfully to fulfil the same; through Jesus Christ thy Son our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one od, now and for ever. Second Sunday after Epiphany Sunday 2 per annum ALMIHTY and everlasting od, who dost govern all things in heaven and earth: mercifully hear the supplications of thy people, and grant us thy peace all the days of our life; through Jesus Christ thy Son our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one od, now and for ever. Third Sunday after Epiphany Sunday 3 per annum ALMIHTY and everlasting od, mercifully look upon our infirmities, and in all our dangers and necessities stretch forth thy right hand to help and defend us; through Jesus Christ thy Son our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one od, now and for ever. Fourth Sunday after Epiphany O OD, who knowest us to be set in the midst of so many and great dangers, that by reason of the frailty of our nature we cannot always stand upright: grant to us such strength and protection as may support us in all dangers and carry us through all temptations; through Jesus Christ thy Son our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one od, now and for ever. 33

Septuagesima (Third Sunday before Lent) O Lord, we beseech thee favourably to hear the prayers of thy people; that we, who are justly punished for our offences, may be mercifully delivered by thy goodness, for the glory of thy name; through Jesus Christ our Saviour who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one od, now and for ever. Sexagesima (Second Sunday before Lent) O Lord od, who seest that we put not our trust in any thing that we do: mercifully grant that by thy power we may be defended against all adversity; through Jesus Christ thy Son our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one od, now and for ever. Quinquagesima (Sunday next before Lent) O Lord, who hast taught us that all our doings without charity are nothing worth: send thy Holy Spirit and pour into our hearts that most excellent gift of charity, the very bond of peace and of all virtues without which whosoever liveth is counted dead before thee; grant this for thine only Son Jesus Christ s sake, who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one od, now and for ever. 34

Two modifications are needed therefore to the Coverdale salter. In ss 33:12 and 68:4, the abbreviated form of the Tetragrammaton should simply be omitted. In s 83:18, the normal English biblical convention of substituting the LORD for the Divine Name should be followed. Versions of Scripture to be used Readings For the reading of lessons, the Revised Standard Verion should be used in either the first Catholic Edition or the second Catholic Edition. Though the Jerusalem Bible is the basis of the Lectionary in most Catholic churches in England and ales, that version of the Bible itself (and similarly the New Jerusalem Bible) is not suitable for reading aloud in public because of the frequent occurrence of the Tetragrammaton (see appendix 1b). 36
