Man created in the image of God : male & female from the beginning. C1v27; Marriage established C 2 vs 23-24. Jesus Christ confirmed these in Matthew 19:4-6. Jesus knew these (marriage & human sexuality would be under attack today by the enemy.) 5. God s Name chap. 2:4 Lord (Yhwh or Jehovah): the Self-existent One who reveals Himself. The revelation of His Name as Lord (YHWH) follows the creation of man. This is God s Name in relationship with man, in His redemptive work. Lord God or Yahweh Elohim/Jehovah Elohim is the first of the compound Names of God in His relation to man as a. Creator- Gen. 2:7-15 b. As having moral authority over Man Gen. 2:16-17 c. C. 2 v 23-24 Eve, as the type of the Church as the bride of Christ (Ephesians 5:28-32, John 3: 28-29, 2 Cor. 11:2, Rev 19:7-8) 7. C 3 the fall of man; the enemy tempts Eve & both fall into sin. Sin enters Paradise. 8. C 3 vs 8-10 Lord God (YHWH Elohim) as the seeking God. His Sabbath rest broken; His new work (of redemption) begins. John 5:17,9:4,14:10.

9. C. 3: 15 Prophecy of a Messiah born of a virgin; the Declaration of War between the Seed of the Woman (Christ)& the Seed of the Serpent (Anti- Christ). 10. C.3 v14 the animal the serpent is cursed to show the effects of sin from beautiful to vile & loathsome. C 3 v 21 The coats of skins as a type of Jesus Christ, made unto us righteousness. Christ s righteousness provided to the first sinners so that they may approach God s presence (Revelations 19:8) 12. C 3 v 24 Cherubims -as angels who stand in the presence of God- guard THE WAY to the Tree of Life. Acts 9:2 Disciples were called the Followers of the Way ; Jesus is THE WAY. Day 2: Chapters 4-6 Prayer Point: Tanzania Pray that the local church will raise up missionaries to share the gospel with the least reached. 1. C 4 v 4 Firstlings of flock & the fat thereof. Type of Christ, the Lamb of God who taketh away the sin of the world (John 1:29) Atonement by blood. 2. Hint of the need for animal sacrifice long before they were initiated in Leviticus. 3. C 4 v 6 The Lord ( Yhwh/Jehovah in his relation to man --Name of God )as pursuing Cain to bring the right sin-offering in contrast to his bloodless offering. The fruit of Cain s own works (religion) vs sacrificial atonement : without the shedding of blood is no remission of sins (Hebrews 9:22; 11:4). 4. Hebrews 11:4 By faith, Abel offered unto God Salvation by faith (thru bloody sacrifice) not works or religion (Cain s sacrifice).

5. C 4 v 25 Cosmic war--- Abel, the good seed killed by Cain. God raises up another seed Seth. 6. C 5 v 1 Adam as the head of the fallen human race. Jesus Christ is Head of the New Creation (Romans 5:14, 1 Cor. 15:21-22, 45-47). 7. C 5 v 22 Enoch as the type of the Church (Hebrews 11:5); will be translated or raptured before the judgment of the flood. The Church will be removed from the judgments of Revelations (1 Thes. 4:4-17) 8. C 6 v 3 The nature of Lord Yhwh: warning men of judgment giving time to repent. (2 Peter 2: 4-5). Long suffering. 9. C 6 vs 5-7, 13 Nature of God: Holy, Righteous & Just. The Holiness and Justice of God necessitated the Judgment of the Wicked. 10. C 6 v 9 Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. Salvation/Righteousness is by grace. 11. C 6 vs 5,11-13; The doctrine of the Total Depravity of Man. Man as sinful by nature and by choice. 12. C 6 v 14 Ark as a type of Jesus Christ: refuge from judgment (Hebrews 11:7). Made of gopher wood shall pitch with pitch. Pitch is the same word for atonement as in Lev. 17:11. Pitch is a material that water-proofed the ark. It is the atonement that keeps the believer from the waters of judgment. Day 3: Chapters 7-9 Prayer Point: Turkey Pray that Turkey, the land of Paul s missionary efforts, would once again have thriving churches. 1. C 7 v 23 Noah as a type of the remnant of Israel who will be preserved throughout the tribulation (Jeremiah 30: 7). 2. C 7 v 7, 10 God waited 120 years while the ark was built & another 7 days before sending the waters. Nature of God patient and longsuffering. However, nobody believed Noah.

3. C 6 v 16; c 7 v 16; There is only One Door (John 10:9). There is only One Way (John 14:6) to the Ark. And the Lord is the One who shuts the Door. Type of Christ as the Door and the Way. 4. Day 4 : Chapters 10-12 Prayer Point: Guinea Pray for the perseverance & faith of Muslims who turn to Christ. 1. The Sons of Noah: C 10 v 2 Sons of Japheth: Gomer ancestor of the Celts ( people of Ireland, Isle of Man, Wales, Highland Scotland, Britanny.) Magog, ancestor of the ancient Scythians and modern Russians (this will be helpful in the study of prophecy). Russia is the land of Magog, Tubal and Meshech. From the 7 sons of Japheth are descendants of the Gentiles or non- Israelites, the heathen. 2. C 10 v 5 The Isles of the Gentiles Asia Minor & Europe populated by the descendants of Japheth. 3. C 10 v 6-10 The Cursed Line of Ham the perpetual enemy of God. The evil leader Nimrod who built Babel, & was said to have built the Tower of Babel in defiance to God will be traced to Babylon which in the Bible denotes

idolatry, rebellion against God. The descendants of Ham are the Canaanites who are enemies to Israel. 4. C 10 vs 21-32 The descendants of Shem this is where the ancestry of Abraham will be traced. 5. God sets the nations in their lands and borders. God as Owner of the earth. Deuteronomy 32:8 When the Most High divided to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the sons of Adam, he set the bounds of the people according to the number of the children of Israel. 6. C 11 vs 1-4; the one-world government/alliance against God in defiance of God s command to go out and multiply and replenish the earth. Destroyed by YHWH v. 7, the Holy Trinity. This cosmic war will continue and will culminate in the one world alliance with the Anti-Christ as head in the tribulation period. 7. C 11 v 9 Beginning of languages. 8. C 11 vs 10-30 The call of Abram. One man is chosen who will be the father of a nation from which the Messiah will come. Highway of the Seed of the Woman. 9. Abram was a Chaldean, from Ur in Babylon the land notorious for pagan worship and idolatry. He is called out from there. Revelation 18:4 10. Doctrine of Election: God chooses Abram, an ordinary man. 11. Significance of Babel/Babylon in prophecy Revelations 17: 5, Rev. 18 Cosmic war continues from Babel in Genesis throughout the course of history and will culminate in Revelation. 12. C 11 vs 31-32 Abram s incomplete obedience to his call to go to Canaan. His family stayed in Haran, short of Canaan. Abram fails his test of obedience. 13. C 12 vs 1-3 The Abrahamic Covenant: 14. C 12 v 4-5 Abram departs from the Haran and God shows him the land promised in the Abrahamic Covenant to him and his seed forever v 7 15. C 12 vs 10-20 Abram -- who will later be called the Father of Faith--again fails the test of faith in leaving the Land of Promise to go to Egypt (a symbol of the world).

Day 5: Chapters 13-15 Prayer Point: Israel Pray for the peace of Israel, and that more & more Jews will come to recognize Jesus Christ as their Messiah. 1. C 13 vs 1-4 Abram leaves Egypt and returns to the place of blessing. 2. C 13 vs 5-13 Abram vs Lot The Battle between The Believer and the World; the Flesh & the Spirit; the Material vs the Spiritual. 3. C 13 vs 14-18: The Abrahamic Covenant Again: note the Terms of the Covenant as involving the land, and a seed (nation). 4. C 14 v 18 Melchizedek (a Gentile king-priest) as the type of Christ as the King-Priest Hebrews 6:20, Hebrews 7:23-24; Name of God: The Most High God or El Elyon, Possessor of heaven & earth. God has heavenly authority and earthly authority. God as El Elyon to Melchizedek a Gentile King ; God as possessor of earth has the right to divide the Gentile nations and set them in their places as much as He gives Israel the land of Canaan as their land forever. 5. C 15 v 2 Name of God: Lord or in Hebrew Adonai meaning Master. God, being Master, has the right to obedience (John 13:13, Matthew 23:10; Luke 6:46)The Master gives direction to the servant. ( Isaiah 6:8-11) 6. C 15 v 6 Our righteousness in the sight of God is by faith, not works. Abraham believed in the Lord, and He counted it to him for righteousness. Salvation by Faith not Works. 7. C 15 vs 9-21 The Abrahamic Covenant Confirmed and Sealed with a Ritual The Ritual of Cutting a Covenant should be that two parties will walk in a figure of eight across the cut pieces of animals to seal the covenant. Only God in the form of a burning lamp & a smoking furnace passed through the two sets of cut animals indicating that a. it is Unconditional nothing that Abraham & his descendants can or will do will break the covenant. b. It is Everlasting applies throughout the New Testament forever. The church will never replace Israel in this covenant, as some believe today. c. It involves the nation of Israel as the Chosen Nation "thy seed c 12 v 2

d. It involves blessing on those who bless Abraham and his seed and cursing on those who curse them. C 12 v 3 e. In Abraham s Seed (The Messiah) shall all nations of the earth be blessed. C 12 v 3 f. It involves the Land. C 15 vs 18-21 C 13 v17 Cyrus Scofield, in a footnote to Deuteronomy 30:5 in his Reference Bible claims, It is important to see that the nation has never as yet taken the land under the unconditional Abrahamic covenant nor has it ever possessed the whole land.3 Arnold Fruchtenbaum elaborates further on why this claim to much of the Middle East is nonnegotiable. So, then, according to the Scriptures, three promises are made with regard to the land: first, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob were all promised the possession of the land; second, the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob were promised the possession of the land; and third, the boundaries of the promised land extended from the Euphrates River in the north to the River of Egypt in the south... At no point in Jewish history have the Jews ever possessed all of the land from the Euphrates in the north to the River of Egypt in the south. Since God cannot lie, these things must yet come to pass. 8. C 15 vs 14-15 Prophecy given to Abraham that his descendants will become strangers and slaves for 400 years & that nation will be judged & his people

will come out with great substance. Fulfilled in the great Exodus (Exodus 12:35-36,51) 9. C 15 v 16 The Israelites will claim their land Canaan from the Amorites after 400 years of slavery in Egypt. Genesis 10:15-18 The Amorites, also synonymous with Canaanites were descendants of Canaan of the cursed line of Ham the enemies of God & of Israel who lived in Canaan prior to the conquest by Israel. (Joshua. 10:5; 24:8,15; Judges. 6:10) Shows the longsuffering and patience of God giving time for the Amorites to repent before judging them when the Israelites come to drive them out of the land and possess their promised land. Day 6: Chapters 16-18 Prayer Point: Brunei Pray for Christian converts from Islam, who face opposition and violence. 1. C 16 vs 1-2 Abraham later known as the Father of Faith, shows yet again, a lack of faith that God will provide him a heir. 2. C 16 v 3 Hagar as the type of the Law which gendereth to bondage ( Galatians 4:24-25) 3. C 16 vs 13-14 The Lord as the One that lives and sees (our) affliction. Beer-lahai-roi. The well of Him that liveth and seeth me. 4. C 17 v 1 Name of God: Almighty God in Hebrew El Shaddai ; El (The Strong One). Shaddai from the Hebrew word shad for breast; God is the Nourisher, Strength-giver, Satisfier. El Shaddai the All- Sufficient ; God enriches & makes fruitful to Abram He is El Shaddai, as one who will make a barren couple fruitful in their old age. AS El Shaddai, God chastens to make fruitful. John 15:2; Hebrews 12:10 5. C 17 v 5 Abram s name is changed to Abraham with the addition of the Hebrew letter H meaning breath, spirit. The Spirit of God imbued upon Abraham. V 15, Sarai s name changed to Sarah. 6. Note the significance of the changing of names throughout the Bible.

7. C 17 v 8 The Abrahamic covenant is an Everlasting Covenant. 8. C 17 vs 9-14 Circumcision as a sign of the Abrahamic covenant. On the 8 th day of baby boy s life shall circumcision be done. Scientific implication is astonishing. On the 8 th day of an infant he has enough clotting factors in his body to prevent hemorrhage. Prior to the 8 th day, the infant might bleed to death if circumcised. 9. C 17 v 23,26 C 18 v 19 Abraham obeyed the command to circumcise his household the selfsame day. Note the change in the pattern of Abraham s obedience. Day 7: Chapters 19-23 Prayer Point: Saudi Arabia Pray that perscecutors will bend their knee to the King of the Universe. 1. C19 Nature of God, as being holy and just; judging wickedness but removing the righteous from judgment. Sodom & Gomorrhah destroyed after removal of Lot s family. 2. Abraham & Lot as type of the believer s battle: Both men were justified (Gen. 15:6, 2 Peter 2: 7-8) but made different choices. Battle in the believer of Flesh vs the Spirit, the Worldly vs Spiritual Man & the outcome of the worldly believer exemplified in Lot s end. His descendants by incest Ammon & Moab were the forefathers of the perennial enemies of Israel the Moabites & the Ammonites. Lot ended up living in a cave & is never to be heard from again. 3. C 21 Sarah as the type of the freewoman and Hagar as a type of the bondwoman. Galatians 4: 21-31 Of Law vs Grace 4. C 21 v 33 Name of God: The Everlasting God or El Olam: The God whose wisdom has divided time & eternity into the different ages; He has no beginning and no end and is over all that is everlasting. 5. C 22 the offering of Isaac as a type of the offering of God the Father of His only Son whom he lovest v 2. John 3:16, Romans 8:32; The son willingly obeys. Philippians 2:5-8 Offered as a sacrifice on the same

mountain ranges that Jesus will later be crucified. The ram as a type of substitutionary death of Christ (Hebrews 10:5-10) & resurrection (Hebrews 11:17-19) 6. C 22 v 14 Name of God: The Lord who Provides in Hebrew YHWH Jireh, v 8 7. C 22 v 8 Prophecy of the coming Lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world. The Lord Himself will provide a Lamb. John 1:29 8. C 22 v 19 Abraham returns to the young men who were with him and Isaac during the sacrifice at Mt. Moriah. After the sacrifice, there is no mention of Isaac. Isaac will not be mentioned again until he is presented with his bride Rebekah. Fingerprint of the Holy Spirit. By design, a type of Christ after his death and resurrection & ascension in heaven who will not be seen until He is reunited with His bride the Church on His second coming.
