SUNDAY : Ponder and Pray As Christians, we may be confident that we do not have idols of gold, silver, stone or wood, and are assured that we do not bow down to any one of them. But we may be unaware that we have idols that are unseen in the 5As ambition, amusement, association, affection and addiction that can come between us and God and which can render us fruitless. Let us sincerely examine ourselves and ask the search light of the Holy Spirit to reveal any hidden idols in us; let us repent and turn away from them so that our walk in the Lord will not be hindered. MONDAY : The Nation & Nations Malaysia: Let us claim His promise that if my people who are called by My Name, will humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land (2 Chronicles 7:14). Let us earnestly beseech God to answer our prayers for the following: A Holy and Righteous Church Pray that the Malaysian church will stand out as a prophetic community, impacting society, and live out authentic and vibrant Christian lives that will be salt and light in the nation. Then only can the church act and speak with credibility and moral authority, and be taken seriously by the nation s leaders. A United Church Reflecting a Malaysian Identity Pray that Christians will make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit, embrace reconciliation and restoration, shake off cultural blockages and be an example in bringing together all races, languages and cultures, uniting them under the Lordship of Christ, and to model ethnic reconciliation powerfully in our nation. Pursuing True Discipleship Pray that Christians will understand what true discipleship means, and be willing to take up their cross daily and suffer for Christ. Pray that the many Christian professionals and countless university students studying abroad will return with a clear vision to build both the church and nation. Electoral reform, Bersih 5 is going to be held this year, but the date and venue have yet to be decided. Roadshows are being held to raise awareness of the agenda of the rally. Pray that every state in Malaysia will understand and support the objectives of Bersih 5. TUESDAY : Workplace It is so obvious that the one million civil servants in Malaysia have saturated the government machineries with an excessive workforce. With the ever increasing new graduates coming out of our numerous educational institutions, it is inevitable that we are facing an unemployment crisis. 1. Pray for patience and ability to adjust to the present unfavourable conditions in our new workforce.
2. Pray for industries to be creative and bold in creating new jobs for the market. 3. Pray for our government to be proactive in the area of improving the national economy. 4. Pray for the global economy to recover soon. WEDNESDAY : Children s Life At the recent Unveiled Seminar our TRAC President reminded our church that contrary to our common perception, Christians have the freedom to reach out to the community in Malaysia, especially in the area of education. Pray for a resurgence of interest in reclaiming ownership of our Methodist schools in Malaysia. Pray for our private Methodist schools, that they will remain successful in educating the next generation. Pray that more of our youths will consider taking up a career in education. Our church Kindergarten has reached a point whereby a major decision needs to be taken for its future. Pray for God s wisdom to be upon the committee to make the right decision. THURSDAY : Mission Continue to pray for the Nepali Ministry which has been ongoing since mid- December 2015. 1. Pray that God will continue to touch the hearts of those Nepali who came for various meetings held in our temporary centre. 2. Cover the mission workers in prayer; especially for more committed Christians to come forward to help. Ask God for more Nepali speaking helpers. 3. Pray for more men to participate in reaching out to the Nepali workers by organising visits to their hostels. 4. Ask God to transform us into a Missional Church. FRIDAY : Family and church 1. Continue to pray for God s anointing for our pastors and church leaders. Pray that His blood of covering shall always be evident in their lives. 2. We thank God for the successful conclusion to our Alpha course. Pray for those who started this course in order to seek God, that they will find Him; and for Christians who want to know our Lord better, will develop a deeper relationship with Him. 3. Continue to uphold our CGMC KIDS. Pray especially for the faithful volunteers to continue to use their spiritual gifts to bless the children who come to seek the Lord. SATURDAY : Corporate Worship Services Worship is ENCOUNTERING GOD. Therefore pray for the Saturday and Sunday corporate worship services in our Church to be a time where people encounter God and be enriched with Biblical knowledge. May we experience transformation, embrace one another lovingly, and intentionally evangelize others.

Come and follow: How is it? Conclusion Discussion for application: A. Which one of the names of Jesus do you like most and why: Messiah(vv.20, 41), Lamb of God (v.29), Baptizer of the Spirit (v.33), Rabbi/Teacher (vv.38, 49), Christ/anointed one (v.41), Nazerene (v.45), son of Joseph (v.45), Son of God (v.49), King of Israel (v.49), Son of Man (v.51) B. Why is it important to encounter Jesus with faith experience (heart) and knowledge (mind)? And how can you develop ways to love God with your heart and mind? C. When we follow Jesus, our ultimate and rightful response to His Lordship is to surrender to Him in self-denial. What would you do in response to the Lord today?
