Grace Baptist Church 41771 US Hwy 75 Snead, Alabama 35952 Curtis Hawkins, Pastor Larry Holley, Associate Pastor 205.353.1000 256.486.4044 Dear Friends and Family, I wanted to take the time to let you all know about the upcoming mission trip our youth group Enlighten will be hosting. During the mission trip you will be housed at Grace Baptist Church. The dates for the mission trip will be July 8th July 11th arrival time will be 8:00am on the 8th and departure time will be at 5:00pm on the 11th. This will give us ample time to finish the projects we have planned. The cost per person for the mission trip will be $150.00 which all proceeds will go toward buying the supplies needed for the projects that we have planned and a t-shirt. Each participate will be provided three meals a day, water and snacks for the job site. A student or adult may come as an individual if your youth group cannot as a whole group. If you have an individual that would like to participate but cannot afford the fee please contact me due to we have some sponsorship available. I want anyone that can and is willing to be able to participate in this awesome event! Each morning we will have breakfast at 7:00am, leave for our job site by 8:30am and work until 4:00pm each day with an hour lunch break. Once back at the church students and leaders will have time to shower and prepare for 6:00pm dinner. After dinner each night we will have live worship music followed by preaching. After service each night students will have free time at the church until 11:00pm. Times may be altered a little according to the day but schedule of events will be as listed. Some jobs may not take the whole amount of time allotted but this will allow for the students to go out in the community and witness. During the mission trip we will be performing basic construction, painting, roof repair, lawn maintenance etc. at homes in the community and surrounding communities for elder as well as those with disabilities. We will also be doing a job at SMHS that will be set by the school board officials. Our goal is to reach out in the community to help those in need. My personal expectation for this local mission trip is to let those in need know that myself as well as other Christians are here for them and not to only help them with a structural need at their home but to be the witness that God has called me to be. My evangelistic goal is to bring our community and churches together to do a work that is pleasing to God that brings Him honor and glory! I want the home owners we help to see the love of God through each person that participates. I am so excited about this mission trip and I know that God has laid this on my heart for a reason and I am looking forward to see what He has in store for each of us as we willingly do a work for Him! I am so excited to work with each of you in bettering our community! I can already feel God s hand at work and I know that through God this will be a great community changer!! I ask that you all will be praying for this mission trip that each need will be met spiritually, physically and financially. Last year we all had an awesome time, needs were met, friendships were made and souls were saved! I look forward to you joining us in becoming a Community Changer! Any support or ideas that you may have will be greatly appreciated. I look forward to working with you all if you have any questions please call me at 205-359-2951. Please see enclosed registration form. Thank you and God Bless Michele Thompson GBC Enlighten Youth Leader

Dear Friends, If you have an adult that is interested in being a Crew Chief during the mission trip please contact me at 205-359-2951 or 205-456-0897. The Crew Chief will be responsible for the job they are assigned to. They will also teach the youth and other adults how to perform that job. Each Crew will have one Crew Chief, 2 adults and at least 5 youth depending on the size of the job. I also ask that each Crew Chief bring the equipment they have for the skill they will be performing. We will have a Crew Chief meeting when jobs are planned to better discuss items that will be needed for each job. During this mission last year we were able to complete a job in Appalachian, Straight Mountain, Oneonta, and several in Snead and Susan Moore! My goal is to grow this mission each year meeting a need in each city throughout Blount County! I look forward to working with you and I am so excited to see all of us come together to work for God! Thank you and God Bless Michele Thompson GCB Enlighten Youth Leader

Dear Sir or Madam, Our Youth group, Enlighten, will be hosting a local Mission Trip this year at our Church, Grace Baptist. This event includes many churches in our area as well as individuals that have signed up to work. During the Mission Trip we will be doing various jobs throughout Blount County. Our jobs will include yard work, painting, roofing and basic building repair. We would love for you to be a sponsor for this event. All proceeds will go toward buying the materials needed to perform these various jobs. The number of jobs we will be able to perform throughout the county will depend on the amount of money raised. We appreciate and look forward to your participation in making this event successful. Thank You and God Bless Michele Thompson- GBC Enlighten Youth Director 205-359-2951
