The WELL needs egg cartons at this time. The WELL staff and board members are grateful for all Calvary members who help those in need in our community. If you have any old Upper Rooms, please give to Nancy Huttel. Updating Directory The directory has been updated to the best of our ability. If you see errors please notify the office by phone or e-mail. The corrections will be made, then posted in the newsletter and bulletin. New, updated copies of the directory are available now and will be issued again in January of 2017. REGARDING NEWSLETTER AND BULLETIN COMMUNICATION PLEASE NOTE: For any information that must be printed in either the newsletter or bulletin please provide a written copy (handwritten or via e mail to the office). Please DO NOT add your information to a lengthy email thread but send your information on its own. Also, please do not hand this information to anyone on a Sunday but drop it off on the desk in the office. We are doing our best to be efficient and not miss anything and these simple steps will help alleviate any further misses. Thanks for your patience and understanding. COMMITTEE CHAIRS: Please report ALL scheduled meetings to the office. Do NOT assume that someone else in attendance will know to make this report to the office unless you as chair have designated such a person. This process has been working well. Files are being created for each committee or ministry as information is shared.

Volunteers Needed Volunteers are needed to help at Mission Central on the second Thursday of each month. We leave the church parking lot promptly at 8 AM. We pack birthing kits, sewing kits, and flood buckets. We work from 9-12 and then leave to come home. Sign up sheets are on the information center outside of the Apostles Room. Next meeting date is September 8. TIME TO CLEAN HOUSE Volunteers still needed to clean out the possibilities and Chapel rooms. We will meet Saturday August 27 at 9:00 in the Possibilities Room. We will find out what things can go to Mission Central and discuss other organizations which may have use for other items. I will provide contractor bags. Please contact Jane Leinbach if interested. Her number is 845-7107 (leave a message) or email her at JAEL1660@comcast.net Calvary United Pretzel Sandwich Sale We are holding a sandwich sale during the month of August. Sandwiches will be made and ready for pick-up on Thursday, September 1 between 5 and 6 PM. This is a terrific way to begin Labor Day weekend - with a delicious ham and cheese or turkey and cheese pretzel sandwich, condiments included. We are offering plain roll sandwiches for those who prefer. The cost of each sandwich is $5. The orders are due by August 24. The order form is located at the information center and in the Narthex. If you would like your own order form for friends and family, they will be located in the office. Just ask and we will find!

CHURCH FAMILY PICNIC is today! Come at 5:30 PM to York Township Rec Park for the picnic. Hot dogs, hamburgers, buns, condiments, and drinks will be provided by Calvary United. Please bring a covered dish to complement the evening fare (serving utensil). Plates, silverware, and cups will be provided. Games and activities are being planned for this event, so be ready for some fun! Fair Parking Please volunteer to help during the week of fair parking. We need help starting September 9. Sign up for a time slot at the information center.

Inviting all women to come relax, laugh, and enjoy an Afternoon Tea. September 1 ~ 1 PM - 2:30 PM in the Apostles Room The Afternoon Tea will be filled with activities to make you laugh! This tea will be presented by Judy Grove. Dress comfortably. Refreshments will be served. RSVP by August 29 ~ Sign UP Sheet at the Information Center or call Dot Markle 843-4088 Children in Church A little boy opened the big and old family Bible with fascination, looking at the old pages as he turned them. Then something fell out of the Bible. He picked it up and looked closely. It was an old leaf from a tree that has been pressed in between the pages. Mama, look what I found, the boy called out What have you got there, dear? his mother asked. With astonishment in the young boy s voice he answered, It s Adam s suit!
