Using various presentation methods from week to week results in increased interest and enthusiasm for Sunday School experiences. Follow the simple instructions here for visual preparations. The Bible Story section of the teacher s guide for this quarter has directions for using the visuals as you share the Bible incidents or doctrines. Lesson 1 December 6, 2015 Item 1 Attendance Poster. A collage of children and families shows examples of worship, prayer and stewardship. Pictures related to the quarterly theme make it a teaching aid along with a record of each learner s attendance. Fold on the lines between scenes to make a triangle shape. Tape the ends together on the inside of the triangle. Turn the visual as directed in the teacher s guide to show the three scenes. Lesson 2 December 13, 2015 Item 2 Pray always... Photo Poster. Learning from godly examples lived out before them helps children more than any amount of telling. This picture of a pastor in prayer speaks volumes for this quarter s lessons about prayer. Display it on the wall for reference as you direct learning about acceptable prayer. Item 3 Temple Model. The Temple descriptions will become more real as learners help assemble this model of Solomon s Temple. Cut out all the pieces. Fold wall sections on all broken lines. Glue side A over tab extension A. Glue side B over tab extension B. Roll each column around a pencil to make it curl. Tape the edges together to form a column. Glue to the front of the Temple model. Follow instructions in the teacher s Stand-up Figures Attach easels to the back of figures 2-1, 2-2 and 2-4. Instructions in the Bible story tell how to use them. Lesson 3 December 20, 2015 Flannelgraph Figures 3-1 through 3-4 illustrate the visit and gifts of the wise men after Jesus birth. Lesson 4 December 27, 2015 Flannelgraph The beautiful event of Pentecost set in motion the immediate growth of the church Jesus began. Use figures 4-1, 4-2 and 4-3 to focus attention on the main events.
Lesson 5 January 3, 2016 Flip-side Visual Trim the borders from scenes 5-1 and 5-2. Fold in the middle between pictures and crease. Spread the bottom edges apart slightly and set the visual on a flat surface. Turn the visual when called for in the story to show the other side. box as you tell about Abram s tithe. Set picture 10-2 in front of it when directed in teacher s guide. Lesson 6 January 10, 2016 Flash Card Visuals Scenes 6-1 through 6-4 show a part of the story action. Mounting each of the visuals on a half sheet of construction paper enhances their appearance. Use Plasti-Tak or a removable tape to attach them if you want to remove them after use. Lesson 7 January 17, 2016 Storyboard Figures Leave the straight-line tab at the bottom of figures 7-1 through 7-5 when you cut them out. Insert the tab in a slit of a Styrofoam storyboard to illustrate the Bible story. This makes an interesting visual presentation with depth as you place the figures in different slits on the board. Lesson 8 January 24, 2016 Stand-up Figures The picture of Jesus will be useful for other lessons that focus on Jesus and His work. Attach the easels to the backs of figures 8-1 and 8-2 about one-eighth inch from the bottom. Fold so they extend away from the figures and set them on a flat surface as you discuss the Bible truths. Lesson 9 January 31, 2016 Flannelgraph Use figures 9-1 through 9-4 for the Bible story. Lesson 10 February 7, 2016 Teaching Pictures Trim the border from both pictures and cut apart. Set picture 10-1 on a cardboard easel made from the corner of a corrugated cardboard Lesson 11 February 14, 2016 Item 4 Teaching Chart. This chart illustrating the ways to look at man simplifies the Bible truths of this lesson. The teacher s guide explains its use. Use the ring, figure 11-3, with the chart. Flannelgraph Use figures 11-1 and 11-2 to help learners understand that God formed man in His own image. Lesson 12 February 21, 2016 Item 5 Manners in God s House Display. This visual shows the children how to respect the church building as the house of the living God. Cut apart the strips and use as suggested in the teacher s guide. Teaching Picture Visual 12-1 illustrates Paul s admonition to Timothy to lead the church to pray. Cut out and mount on a piece of colored poster board for a stronger impact. Set it on a cardboard easel to display. Flannelgraph Use figure 12-2 to accent Paul s teaching about women. Lesson 13 February 28, 2016 Item 6 Want Ad Poster.
