Introduction Did you know that lying is a sin? If Jesus would have lied even once, He could not have paid the price for our sins. In 2 Cor. 5:21 it says, For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. Jesus did not have any sin in Himself. Therefore, God made Jesus to be sin for us,...that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. God took our sins and laid them upon Jesus, who had no sin. Being that Jesus had no sin, that means that Jesus never lied, not even once. If Jesus did not lie even once, then we should believe everything that Jesus told us. JESUS Cannot Lie In Mark 9:23, Jesus said to a man whose son had a deaf and dumb spirit, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. Was Jesus telling the truth? Certainly. Jesus could not lie. Had Jesus lied to that man, Jesus would have sinned. But, Jesus lived thirty-three and one-half years and never lied at anytime. If we would believe according to what Jesus said to the man with a son who had a deaf and dumb spirit, nothing would be impossible for us. If all things are possible to them that believe, then nothing is impossible to them that believe. If we say we believe, why are we not receiving according to what we believe? Something is wrong, and it cannot be on Jesus part. There must be something wrong on our part. In Mark 9:24, the man said to Jesus,...Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief (Mark 9:24). This man knew where his problem was, it was his unbelief. Where does our unbelief come from? Most likely, it comes from the way the world lives. The world lives by the knowledge of good and evil, which came upon mankind when Adam and Eve ate of the tree of knowledge of good and evil (Gen. 3:6). We need to stop operating the way the world does (from the tree of knowledge of good and evil), and operate from the Tree of Life instead. How do we do that? In Romans 12:2 it says, And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. That is our problem that causes our unbelief. We are still conforming to this world. We are still living like the world lives, believing in our own ability to do what we want to do. The more we learn about the world and the things of this world, the more we desire to have the things of this world. As long as it is the world and the things of this world that are important to us, we will be in bondage to this world and the things of this world. How will we ever overcome the world and the things of this world, if all we desire are the things of this world? Jesus was teaching in the four gospels, how to overcome the doubt and unbelief that keeps us in bondage to the world and the things of this world. If we will study the four gospels, and see what Jesus was teaching, we will learn how to overcome doubt and unbelief. When we overcome doubt and unbelief, we will also overcome the world, and the knowledge of good and evil that the world lives by. Oh, how important it is to know the Truth, that overcomes 2

the world and everything in the world. We must renew our mind on the Word of God. God has given us His Word and God cannot lie (Titus 1:2). We must continue to study the Bible, especially the New Testament, starting with the four gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Whatsoever Jesus said, believe it. Jesus was telling the Truth. Jesus never lied. One of the first things we need to see is where Jesus said to Nicodemus, You must be born again (John 3:7). What does it mean by born again? The word born implies the beginning of life. The word again implies a second time. Born again is speaking of a new life in the spirit. Born again also means, born from above. This new life is the beginning of eternal life in the spirit. Those who are not born again do not understand spiritual things pertaining to eternal life. They do understand that there are spirits. They do understand that life on this earth is only for a short time. They do understand that people live and die, and we do not see them anymore. They even understand that there is another life beyond this life here on earth. This is all intellectual knowledge that they have been taught. Intellectual knowledge is not enough to produce eternal life. Eternal life must come from an eternal substance, not from a temporal (earthly) substance. This earth is only temporal. The earth is here now, but will not always be here. The same thing applies to life here on earth. People are born into this world. But, many of them do not live very long, and they are gone. They have earthly life, but that earthly life only lasts for a short time. Jesus said, we must be born from above. Once we are born from above, we can leave this temporal earth and ascend into heaven where we will continue to live forever. What Jesus said about being born again is all explained in John 3:1-15. It may not be explained the way some think it should be explained. But, God does not go by what we think. God goes by His Word, which He has given us in the Scriptures. Not everyone will understand the Word of God. Only those whom seek to know the truth, will understand the truth. We must have a desire to know the truth, before God will reveal the truth to us. Nicodemus came to Jesus, desiring to know the truth. Nicodemus knew that Jesus was a teacher sent from God. In John 3:2, it says that Nicodemus came to Jesus, and said unto him,...rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. Nicodemus was not born again at that time. But, Nicodemus was desiring to know the truth. It is when we desire to know the truth, that God will reveal the truth to us. If we do not search the Scriptures, we will not get to know the truth. The truth is only revealed to those who have a desire to know the truth. It is not enough to just listen to what others say. We must have a desire to find out for ourselves, what God wants us to know. Many people go to churches. Many people belong to groups that believe there is a God. Many people become religious, doing what others tell them. But, that is not what God is looking for. God is looking for those who will believe that Jesus is the Word of God, that God sent into this world so that we can know the truth and inherit eternal life in heaven. Jesus cannot lie. Jesus said in John 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him... How do we know if God is drawing us to Jesus? It is simple, those whom God draws to Jesus read their Bibles, and read other books that help them to know what God has to say. Those who do not read their Bibles, or other books that tell about Jesus and God are 3

not interested. If we are not interested in the Word of God, then God does not draw us to Jesus. If you are reading this book, it is because God has drawn you to read it. It was not your idea. It was God s idea that He put in your mind. God draws us to Jesus by putting thoughts in our minds. Nicodemus did not come to Jesus because of his own idea. Nicodemus was only one of seventy members of the Jewish Sanhedrin. God drew Nicodemus to Jesus, when Nicodemus saw the miracles that Jesus was doing. There were sixty-nine other members of the Sanhedrin at that time. We are only told of one other by the name of Joseph of Arimathaea, who was also a member of the great Jewish council, that believed upon Jesus (Luke 23:50-51). God draws people to Jesus by His Word. When people get interested in the things of God, God then begins to reveal things to people from the Scriptures, that will help them see the truth. I know how this works, for God was drawing me from the time I was a child. It took until I was fortyfive years old before I truly understood what it meant to be born again. Becoming born again is not something someone else can do for us. Becoming born again involves a personal receiving of Jesus Christ as our personal LORD. Not just as our Savior, but as LORD of our life. When we come to Jesus like Nicodemus came to Jesus, with a desire to know the truth, God will reveal the truth to us from His Word. It is not just intellectual knowledge of the Word of God. Many people have intellectual knowledge of the Word of God. That only makes them knowledgeable of things written in the Bible. It takes more than intellectual knowledge of the Word of God to become born again. It takes a work of God in our lives to causes us to become born again from above. This is explained in John 1:11-13. We must receive Jesus as LORD, and when we do God s will it cause us to become born again,...not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God (John 1:13). God is looking for those who truly want to become born again, not just those who want to belong to some organization that says they are Christians. When a person truly becomes born again, there is a change in their life. A completely new change takes place within us. We receive a new heart (new desires), which cause us to continue to study the Scriptures ourselves. God puts his desires in our heart, that we continue to seek to know more about things of the spirit, not things of this world. When this change takes place in our life we know something has happened to us. Our thinking changes, and our desires change. God and His Word are more important to us than the things of this world. That is truly a new birth in the spiritual realm. Not like a birth in the natural realm, when we were first born of the flesh. Jesus said, That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit (John 3:6). There must be a difference in our life. If there is not a difference between what we were before we asked Jesus to become our LORD, and after we asked Jesus to become our LORD, something is wrong. There must be a difference between that which is of the flesh and that which is of the Spirit. The knowledge of good and evil has been in this world from the time of Adam and Eve. The knowledge of good and evil is a spirit of religion. The knowledge of good and evil justifies some and condemns others. This is not of God. It is of this world. When a person is truly born again, Jesus becomes LORD in their lives. The word LORD means supreme in authority. Supreme means, there is no other authority in our life, not even 4

ourselves. If we are still doing what we want to do the way we want to do it, then Jesus is not LORD in our life. It says in Matthew 16:24-26, Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me...for whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it...for what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? If Jesus said that to His disciples, would that not also apply to us today? In John 15:16 Jesus said, Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. If we are truly born again, it was not our idea, it was God that drew us to Jesus, to receive Jesus as LORD in our lives. Jesus never lied. Jesus cannot lie. Therefore, if we want to inherit eternal life it must begin with a new birth. Then, just as a child that is born into this world must grow and mature, we must also start from the new birth and grow and mature in the LORD. Babies born into this world need food and water to live. Christians who are born of the Word of God and the Holy Spirit need spiritual food to live. Our spiritual food is the Word of God. We also need the Holy Spirit to discern the Word of God, for spiritual things are spiritually discerned (1 Cor. 2:13,14). Everything begins with a new birth in the spirit, born again from above in Christ Jesus. The knowledge of good and evil will not cause us to become born again. It will only keep us from receiving Jesus Christ as our LORD (supreme authority). When Jesus is LORD, then we will have a great desire for the things Jesus told us. It will be our desire to become doers of the Word of God, and not just hearers only. Jesus said in Luke 6:46, And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? It is when we do what Jesus said, that things will change in our lives. The Word of God will manifest in our lives when we do what Jesus said. In Luke 10:19, Jesus said to his disciples, Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Do we truly believe what Jesus said? Who are the serpents and scorpions, that Jesus was speaking of? They are not people. Jesus did not say He has given us power over people. These serpents and scorpions are demonic spirits. They are our enemies. People are not our enemies, but the Devil and his demonic spirits are our enemies. This power over the demonic spirits and the Devil only works when we believe in our heart. God gave us a new heart and a new spirit when we were born again. It is from our new heart that we believe, and from our new spirit in Christ we speak the Word of God. Many times when people received healing from Jesus, He said it was according to their faith that they received. We must have faith to believe in our heart, and receive all that the Word of God promises us. When we overcome doubt and unbelief, our faith will work, and we will receive. To increase our faith, we must continue to study the Scriptures, and do what Jesus said to do. If we continue to speak the Word of God, believing in our heart, it will come to pass. It is not something that happens overnight. It takes time to renew our mind on the Word of 5

God. When our mind is renewed, we will think like God thinks, and do things like Jesus did. Jesus was always the Son of God. From the day that Mary became pregnant, Jesus body was already being formed in Mary s womb. When Jesus was born in Bethlehem, He was the Son of God. Jesus did not do any mighty works until He was about thirty-years old. Why did it take so long before Jesus did any mighty works? Jesus was committed to doing only the will of God the Father. It was the will of God the Father that Jesus would study the Word of God. Jesus was already studying the Word of God as a child. At the age of twelve, Jesus was...in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions (Luke 2:46). As children of God, we are not of this world. If we are not of this world then we need to learn how to live as children of God in this world. In Hebrews 5:8 it says, Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered. Jesus came into this world as the Son of God. But Jesus also learned obedience by the things he suffered. The word suffered does not always mean pain or affliction. The word suffered used in Hebrews 5:8, means, endured. Jesus learned obedience by the things He endured in the times of tempting and testing by the enemy. Jesus was tempted by the Devil, by spirits, by the Pharisees, Sadducees, and Scribes. Jesus, learned by studying the Scriptures and knowing that God the Father is faithful, and will honor those who will believe His Word. Jesus put His faith in God, not in the worlds system, which operates by the knowledge of good and evil. Jesus always looked to God the Father for everything He had need of. Jesus trusted totally and completely in God the Father as the source of all that He needed. By continually spending time in the Word and in prayer (talking to God), Jesus learned to obey God in everything. Jesus said in John 5:30, I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me. How can anyone know the will of God the Father? The Father s will is made known in the Scriptures. The more time a person spends studying the Scriptures the better they will know the will of God the Father. People who do not spend time studying the Scriptures can easily be destroyed for a lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6). As Jesus continued studying the Scriptures, He learned obedience to God the Father. When Jesus obeyed God the Father, He was rewarded by the Father for His obedience. What Christians need to see today, is that it is better to obey than sacrifice. In 1 Samuel 15:22, it was already written, And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. We know what happened to King Saul because he did not obey the LORD. Obedience is better than sacrifice. Jesus learned to obey the Father by studying the Scriptures. As Children of God, Christians can also learn obedience by the things they endure, trusting in the LORD with all their heart and not leaning unto their own understanding (Prov. 3:5). We learn these things by studying the Scriptures, which is the will of God written for us in the Scriptures. Through studying the Scriptures, we can learn to know that God is faithful, and will not withhold any good thing from those who walk uprightly. In Psalm 84:11 it says, For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold 6

from them that walk uprightly. How does a person walk uprightly? We learn from the Scriptures what God desires for those who desire to obey Him. The LORD God proved to those in the Old Testament times that God is faithful. The LORD God proved to those in the Old Testament times that Nothing is too hard for the LORD (Gen. 18:14). Over and over God worked among the children of Israel, by His miraculous power. The miraculous power of God is available to anyone who will walk uprightly before the LORD. The LORD will not withhold anything from those who will obey Him. The LORD cannot lie. What the LORD promised, He will do. It is all based upon what the Children of God do concerning the will of God for their lives. The will of God for every Child of God is that they know God as their Father. Knowing God as our Father does not mean only knowing that we are born of the Word of God and the Holy Spirit, making us children of God in the spiritual realm. We need to know God the Father as the source of all that we need in life. No matter what we have need of, we need to know that God the Father is the source and supply of all that we need. Those who trust in the worlds system of the knowledge of good and evil, trust in what they can do according of their own ability. Those who trust in God as their Father trust in the Word of God as their source of everything they have need of. Jesus cannot lie. The written Word of God tells us that we must walk by faith, not by sight (2 Cor. 5:7). Walking by faith is not putting faith in what we can do. It is faith in God according to what God has said in His Word. What God has promised, He will do. God will not withhold any good thing from those who walk uprightly. The beginning of a life of walking by faith is in knowing what the written Word of God says. When we know, we will not be destroyed for a lack of knowledge. We learn by obedience to what the written Word of God tells us. When we know what the written Word of God tells us, we can obey the written Word and receive whatsoever we need. We need to understand who we are in Christ Jesus. When we know Jesus as our LORD (the supreme authority in our lives), we can trust in the LORD with all our heart and lean not unto our own understanding. Jesus cannot lie. When Jesus said in Luke 10:19, Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you, Jesus meant what He said. Jesus cannot lie. What Jesus said is truth, and it will accomplish whatsoever He said. It all depends upon what we believe according to what is written in the Scriptures. As Children of God, in Christ Jesus, we have been given delegated authority to use the Name of Jesus against all the powers of the enemy. We are joint-heirs with Christ. Therefore, we have the authority to use the name of Jesus against all the works of the enemy. Whatsoever the Devil tries to do, we have the authority to use the Name of Jesus to defeat the powers of the Devil. In using the Name of Jesus, we must use it in faith, nothing wavering. It is faith in the name of Jesus that will defeat the enemy. When Peter used the Name of Jesus against the works of the Devil in the life of a man at the gate called Beautiful in Acts 3:5, that man was made whole. Peter explained this in Acts 3:15,16, telling them it was faith in the Name of Jesus that made that man whole. When we believe with all our heart (that what Jesus said cannot fail), then we will see the 7

power of God manifest in our lives also. It is not who we are, but who Jesus is, and the name of Jesus that will defeat the enemy every time we walk in obedience to the Word of God, which we continue to learn from the Scriptures. God has established certain principles in His Word that will help us to build up our faith. For, without faith God is not pleased in what we do (Heb. 10:38). If the just shall live by faith, then we need to understand what it takes to live by faith. In Hebrews 5:8-14 it begins by speaking of how Jesus learned obedience by the things He endured. Then it uses this as an example of how we can also learn obedience by the things we endure. In Hebrews 5:14 it says, But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. We train our senses by reason of much use. Our senses draw us back into the worlds system of the knowledge of good and evil. The world operates by the five senses of seeing, hearing, smelling, touching, and tasting. The world judges things according to the knowledge of good and evil, which is based upon the things of this world. Christians are not to be controlled by their five senses. Christians are to operate by the Word of God. We overcome the world, by faith in the Word of God, not faith in the worlds system. We train our senses to become subject to the Word of God by reason of much use. The more we use the Name of Jesus against the works of the enemy, the more we will train our five senses to obey the Word of God, rather than the god of this world. Satan is the god of this world (2 Cor. 4:4). Satan operates from the spiritual realm, using the five senses to justify and prove things. Satan s demonic spirits deceive and destroy by inflecting symptoms upon people. When people accept the symptoms, the spirits of this world cause the symptoms to manifest. We must operate by the Word of God, which has power over all the works of the enemy. When symptoms come upon us, we must rebuke the symptoms with the Word of God and the blood of Jesus. When we do that, the Holy Spirit will bear a witness with the Word of God and the Blood of Jesus. God has given us three witnesses here on earth to destroy the works of the Devil. In 1 John 5:8, it says, And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water (Word), and the blood: and these three agree in one. The word water in 1 John 5:8 is speaking of the Word of God, which uses the Blood of Jesus to cleanse us from all sin. The Devil has tried many ways to say the use of the word water, means liquid water, not the Word of God. This is deception by the enemy. The Holy Spirit used the word water many times to signify the Word of God. If we check out a number of these times, it will be very evident that the Scripture is not speaking of liquid water. Two examples are in John 4:10,13,14 and in John 7:38. How many people have drunk liquid water, and never thirsted again? How many people have a river of liquid water flowing out of their belly? When we believe in the Word of God that reveals the Blood of Jesus, the Holy Spirit will bear witness to these two, and we will be free. Without the Holy Spirit, the Word of God and the Blood of Jesus it will not benefit us. Without the Word of God and the Holy Spirit and the Blood of Jesus will not benefit us. Without the Blood of Jesus, the Word of God and the Holy Spirit will not benefit us. It takes all three, to bear witness here on earth. 8

The god of this world uses the five senses to control people. Christians should use the Word of God to control the enemy. It is by reason of much use of the Word of God, that we train our senses to obey the Word of God, so we are no longer conformed to this world (Rom. 12:2). We must train our senses to obey the Word of God. This is done by reason of much use. Remember,...we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places (Eph. 6:12). In 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 it says, For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh...(for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)...casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ...And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled. People are not our enemies. Our enemies are the spirits of this world who operate in the spiritual realm. They are under the control of Satan, the Devil, who is the god of this world. Jesus cannot lie. Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6). When we believe Jesus, we will be believing the Truth. Jesus said in John 8:30,31, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed...and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. Jesus cannot lie.
