THE HEALINGS OF JESUS, PART 1 KENNETH COPELAND March 19-23, 2018 DAY 1 DON T FEAR ONLY BELIEVE FOR HEALING Jesus is God, yet He came to earth and lived as a man in the flesh. Jesus set up His home and ministry headquarters in Capernaum. He traveled across the Sea of Galilee, where there was a man whom He healed. Jesus took the ship back to Capernaum, and before He could get home, Jairus met him and asked Jesus to come and heal his daughter. The Father God is Love and compassion. STUDY IT I. Jesus is God, yet He came to earth and lived as a man in the flesh. See Jesus as a man. Yes, Jesus is God, but He was discernible in the flesh. Jesus was real. He knew what it was to have a house. He knew what it was like to live as a human being. We are looking at the healing ministry of Jesus in the earth. II. Jesus set up His home and ministry headquarters in Capernaum. The city of Capernaum is on the coast of the Sea of Galilee on the border of Zabulon and Nephthalim (Matthew 4:12-13). o Isaiah had prophesied that the Messiah would be in that location (Isaiah 9:1). Jesus knew the Scriptures and found Himself in the writings of the prophets. He preached from a prophecy of Himself from Isaiah (Isaiah 61:1). III. Across the Sea of Galilee from Capernaum, where Jesus lived, was a man who needed healing. He was possessed by a demon and lived there in the country of the Gadarenes. o He was possessed by one demon, and he also had 6,000 demons working in him and around him, tormenting him under the instruction of the main demon. o When the man saw Jesus, he ran to worship Him (Mark 5:1-20). Demons live in the atmosphere above the earth, not in God s heaven. They have an order, a hierarchy of authority and power (Ephesians 6:12). This man was completely controlled by the demons yet 6,000 demons could not stop him from falling on his face and worshiping Jesus. The healed man wanted to go with Jesus, but instead, Jesus called the man to preach.

Jesus told him to tell everyone what had happened to him, and to preach the love and compassion of Jesus. o Previously, everyone in the area was afraid of him and the demons that tormented him. They were so amazed at this man s deliverance that they asked Jesus to leave. IV. Jesus returned to Capernaum, got out of the ship, and before He could get home, Jairus met him and asked Jesus to come and heal his daughter. Jairus was the leader of the synagogue in Capernaum. Jesus had preached there. They knew each other. Jairus didn t live too far from Jesus house. As they were walking to Jarius house, a man came from Jairus house and told him his daughter was dead. The last thing Jairus said was, Come lay hands on my daughter. The only thing Jesus said was, Don t be afraid, only believe. Jesus saw the people in Jairus house making the noises of mourning. Jesus told them to be quiet and leave, because she was not dead (Matthew 9:23-25). Jesus spoke by faith, He said the things that were not yet as though they were (Romans 4:17). Jairus daughter was healed. V. The Father God is Love. God is compassion (1 John 4:16). Perfect love casts out fear (1 John 4:18). Compassion is not a feeling, it s a person. If you are born again, the Holy Spirit is dwelling in you right now. If you ve been baptized with the Holy Spirit, that anointing is on and in you. The same compassion is available to you. Make Jesus The LORD of your life; fall before Him and worship Him. No matter what you have done, you can still be born again. The power of the new birth is the most powerful force on this planet, and it s available to you now. Additional scriptures: Mark 9:33; Luke 5:19; Mark 6:34; John 14:10; Galatians 5:22-23 MAKE IT PERSONAL Listen to your words. Is fear coming out of your mouth, or faith? Write faith words you can declare concerning your healing that Jesus provided for you!

THE HEALINGS OF JESUS, PART 1 KENNETH COPELAND March 19-23, 2018 DAY 2 HOW TO RECEIVE HEALING FROM JESUS In most of the healings ministered by Jesus, faith is specifically mentioned. The Apostle James wrote the book of James giving us instructions about how to talk about God. Let s settle this business that it is God s will to heal, and to heal you. Jesus bore your sin and sickness, because He loves you. STUDY IT I. In most of the healings ministered by Jesus, faith is specifically mentioned. Faith in God s WORD will make you free. Faith comes by hearing not through some traumatic situation (Romans 10:17). That s the way you have victory! Healing, deliverance and freedom from bondage are just as available as salvation. Some people question whether or not it s God s will to heal. The answer is that if it was God s will to heal in the past, and Jesus is unchangeable, it s God s will to heal today. Jesus does not change. He healed in the past; therefore, He is healing now (Hebrews 13:8). The Greek word translated saved is sozo. It means saved, healed, delivered, set free (Romans 10:9-10). If healing was not God s will, it would have been written either in the Gospels, Acts, the ministry and writings of Paul, or somewhere in the Bible. However, it s not there. II. The Apostle James wrote the book of James giving us instructions about how to talk about God. James was the half-brother of Jesus. They were raised in the same household. Don t say God is testing or trying you. He does not test or try you, and He Himself cannot be tested or tried. o In James 1:13-14 the word tempted means to test or to try. o Man is tested and tried when he is drawn away from God. Don t get into error about what is from God and what is not (James 1:16-17). o Every good and perfect gift is from above, from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. God is not going to change. He can t change. He is Love.

III. Let s settle this business that it is God s will to heal, and to heal you. Isaiah prophesied that God has borne our griefs, sicknesses and sorrows. Sorrow is pain and weakness from toiling in the curse (Isaiah 53:4-5). o Jesus was wounded for our transgressions, that means sin. On the same day that Jesus took care of our salvation, deliverance and eternity in heaven, He provided for our healing and He bore our poverty, too. A leper came, worshipped Jesus and said, Lord, if You will, You can make me clean. (Matthew 8:2-3, RSV). Jesus touched Him; that is compassion at work. Jesus said, I will! and the man was healed. Love did that! Jesus is God s gift to the whole world (John 3:16). Jesus came to do God s will. It is God s will for you to be healed, and for anyone who will believe. IV. Jesus bore your sin and sickness because He loves you. A leper came to Jesus. He said, If you will, you can make me clean (Mark 1:40, RSV). o Jesus was moved with compassion, touched him, and said, I will (Mark 1:41, RSV). The leprosy was gone. Don t claim any disease. It s not yours. God s WORD says He has taken your sickness and given you long life (Exodus 23:25-26). God loves you as much as He loves Jesus (John 17:23). V. Kenneth Copeland just heard The LORD say that faith and healing are here. Tuberculosis was just healed. Broken and missing ribs are being healed. Receive it! Jesus delivered the man from the Gadarenes instantly. You can be healed, even if you are a cutter like he was. Praise and worship The LORD. Bless the Name of Jesus. Jesus can heal you immediately. Additional scriptures: John 21:25; 1 John 4:16; Luke 5:12-13, AMPC, Phillips, TLB; Romans 10:9-10; John 6:38; Mark 5:15-16; 2 Corinthians 5:17 MAKE IT PERSONAL Make this declaration with us: I know it is God s will to heal me. I know God loves me. Today, I choose to be healed. I receive what Jesus provided with His death, burial and resurrection. It s mine, now! Thank You, Jesus, that I am healed and whole according to Your will and Your love! In Jesus Name. Amen.

THE HEALINGS OF JESUS, PART 1 KENNETH COPELAND March 19-23, 2018 DAY 3 OFFENSE BLOCKS HEALING The Holy Spirit put accounts of healing in the Bible for us as examples to follow and be healed. When you seek healing, it is so important to worship Jesus as the Son of God. Faith doesn t work in a prideful atmosphere or a place of offense. Don t be touchy about what Jesus tells you. Repent, so healing will work! STUDY IT I. The Holy Spirit put accounts of healing in the Bible for us as examples to follow and be healed. One account concerns a Syrophoenician woman, a gentile. Read both accounts of Jesus encounter with her to see a more complete picture (Matthew 15:21-28; Mark 7:24-30). She followed Jesus, crying for help for her daughter who was demon possessed. The disciples wanted Jesus to send her away. They meant Jesus should give her what she wanted, so she would leave. II. When you seek healing, it is so important to worship Jesus as the Son of God. Even though this woman was a gentile, she fell at Jesus feet and worshipped Him. She knew Jesus was the Messiah, because she said, O LORD, thou Son of David. In another scripture, the Pharisees were gathered around Jesus, and He asked whose son is the Messiah? They answered that the Messiah was the son of David (Matthew 22:41-42). In another place, the blind men cried out for help to Jesus, the son of David (Matthew 9:27). III. Faith doesn t work in a prideful environment. Repent so healing will work. Jesus told the woman that the children s bread should not be given to the dogs (Matthew 15:26). She said, That s true. Jesus called her and her daughter dogs, yet she didn t get in pride; she humbled herself. She refused to be offended. Jesus said her faith brought the deliverance for her daughter. God gives grace to the humble and resists the proud (1 Peter 5:5).

She had no pride! Pride will get you killed! The Scripture says we should cast our care on Jesus that s being humble before God (1 Peter 5:7). Jesus went to hell, so you don t have to carry care. IV. Faith cannot work in an atmosphere of offense. That s a problem today. People are looking for ways and reasons to be offended. Satan comes to steal The WORD. The No. 1 way he does that is to tempt people with offense before they have allowed God s WORD to root in their hearts. They become offended. Jesus said when you stand praying, forgive (Mark 4:16-18, 11:25). John the Baptist sent word to Jesus, Are you the Christ or should we be looking for another? (paraphrase from Luke 7:19-23). o This is the same John who announced that Jesus was the Lamb of God (John 1:29). What happened? o Jesus did all kinds of miracles then sent word to John. Blessed is he who is not offended. o Jesus was talking about John when He talked about being offended. THE BLESSING won t work when someone is offended. V. Don t be touchy about what Jesus tells you. When touchy people hear correction, they get mad. Being touchy and mad gives satan access to your innermost counsel. You can t hear anything God is saying to you. Don t be touchy with Jesus. He went to hell to give you everything. Don t ever say to God, Don t You care? Don t feel sorry for yourself. God gave you His WORD that contains His will and His power to take care of anything in your life. MAKE IT PERSONAL Below write any areas of your life that have pride, unforgiveness, offense or touchiness in them. Repent, and receive forgiveness with thanksgiving.

THE HEALINGS OF JESUS, PART 1 KENNETH COPELAND March 19-23, 2018 DAY 4 A TEACHABLE SPIRIT RECEIVES HEALING Jesus lived His life on earth as a man anointed of God. It is God s perfect will that you be healed today. A teachable person receives healing. Gloria Copeland is not touchy. She lets the Bible rule in her life. Fear is not a problem, it s the problem. STUDY IT I. Jesus lived His life on earth as a man anointed of God. If you want to know if it is God s will to heal everybody, even the sinner, your answer is in the Bible. Jesus settled it forever when He touched the leper and said, I am willing Be clean! (Matthew 8:2-3, NIV). Jesus bore the curse on the cross, and that curse included sickness and disease. If it s true that healing passed away, God would have to change His Name. He is Jehovah Ropheka, The LORD our Healer (Exodus 15:26, NOG). Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). Jesus can t change. II. It is God s perfect will that you be healed today. Faith begins where the will of God is known. Where is the will of God found? It s written in the Bible. God would not promise you something that s against His will. Nowhere in the New Testament does it say, You have to keep this sickness, or You never know. o In Christ, the answer is yes and amen (2 Corinthians 1:20). Receive that by Jesus stripes you were, and you are healed (1 Peter 2:24). III. A teachable person receives healing. If someone is not teachable, he/she is not correctable. If you can t be corrected, then God can t direct you in another direction. You won t hear Him. You won t listen to His voice, because you re unteachable. When you re in strife and not living by the Bible, you only believe what you can hear and see. Satan has access to your innermost counsel, because all he has to do is push a touchy button, and you go off in a direction away from God. The devil has free rein in your life.

Listen to God s WORD. Listen to Kenneth Copeland and preachers like him. You ll begin to be stronger and stronger and stronger, and you will become the man or woman, husband or wife, daddy or mama you want to be. But you have to be teachable by The WORD of God, and you have to put God s WORD first place in your life. Touchy people s feelings are at the forefront, and they are not teachable. IV. Gloria Copeland is not touchy. She lets the Bible rule in her life. One day Kenneth Copeland was exhausted and snapped at Gloria. She looked straight into his eyes and said, Somehow, I m going to be a blessing to you. Her words melted him. Another day she laid hands on Brother Copeland and said, Kenneth, I find no fault in you. It changed his life. V. Fear is not a problem, it s the problem. You must allow God s perfect love to work in you to cast out fear (1 John 4:18). Wisdom is what you need, because all doubt and unbelief is fear-based and feardependent (Proverbs 4:7). Remember Jesus told Jairus to stop the fear. Believe only and she will be made whole (Mark 5:22-42). o Jairus said what he believed and didn t change it. Jesus, lay Your hands on my daughter and she will live. o Jairus did what Jesus said, and Jesus was doing what Jairus said He was going to lay hands on Jairus daughter. o The death messenger came with a bad report. Jesus said, Don t fear! o Jairus kept his faith and kept his mouth shut until he stood there and watched Jesus raise his daughter from the dead. God will correct us, if we let Him. When we listen to and obey God, the direction of our lives will come back on course, and we will be safe under His mighty protection. Then, we will be walking in perfection (maturity). Seek perfection and maturity in the spirit. Teachable people will mature in The WORD and grow up into God in all things. Additional scriptures: James 1:17; Galatians 3:13; Mark 7:24-30; Proverbs 23:1-3; Matthew 15:21-28, 22:41-42 MAKE IT PERSONAL Examine yourself to make sure you are teachable. Then pray and ask The LORD to teach you what you need to know today. Remember to be humble and thankful!

THE HEALINGS OF JESUS, PART 1 KENNETH COPELAND March 19-23, 2018 DAY 5 IT IS GOD S PERFECT WILL FOR YOU TO BE HEALED God is Love, and it s His will for you to be healed. Laying hands on people for them to receive healing is scriptural and a good thing, but sometimes people receive healing simply by faith. Faith and power are important words. STUDY IT I. God is Love (1 John 4:8). And it s His will for you to be healed. Jesus is the Son of Love, and He is moved with compassion. Jesus is the same forever, and if He ever healed anyone, He ll heal you (Hebrews 13:8). It is Love that is healing. Love provides the healing, and Love gives the healing. It s the perfect will of God for you to be born again, baptized in the Holy Spirit, speaking in other tongues, healed, and redeemed from debt and poverty. Jesus answered the leper that He was willing to heal. And Jesus did heal him (Matthew 8:2-3). All good things, including healing, come from God the Father, and He doesn t change at all (James 1:17). He is Love! II. Laying hands on people for them to receive healing is scriptural and a good thing, but sometimes people received healing simply by faith. The woman with the issue of blood received her healing by using her faith (Mark 5:25-34). o She heard of Jesus, and in hearing she received faith to be healed. o This woman s faith was to the point that she believed that if she touched Jesus clothes, she would be healed. o She didn t intend to be noticed. According to Levitical Law, she wasn t supposed to be in public. o This woman spoke her faith. She said! And she received her healing. o She believed, she said, and she received, just like Jesus taught (Mark 11:23-24). o Her faith was talking. She acted on what her faith said, and she was healed. o Her faith made her whole because her faith connected to the Anointing on Jesus. o The power of Love healed her.

III. Faith and power are important words and together they bring healing. You can t feel the healing in your body and then believe. It doesn t work that way. First, speak your faith, then see and feel the results. A man heard the Apostle Paul speak, and faith came. The man was healed (Acts 14:8-10). Paul wrote that we are redeemed from the curse (Galatians 3:13). The curse includes sin, sickness, disease and poverty. Healings are here, now! o Someone s daughter was just healed. o Stomachs are being healed. o Someone has just received a tremendous financial breakthrough. Get in God s WORD, and allow it to make you free from the curse, today! Additional scriptures: Mark 5:1; Genesis 1:3; Acts 10:38; Luke 4:18; Romans 10:17; John 8:11, 3:1-2; Acts 10:3-6; Luke 5:15 MAKE IT PERSONAL We really want to hear of the healing power of God in your life.
