Pray that people around Australia will see God s love in their lives and be converted by it. Pray for the Church of the Province of South East Asia, giving thanks for the work they do to further God s mission in the world. Text: Robert McLean, Partnerships Coordinator Anglican Board of Mission, 2018 Local church connecting with local community We at St Mark's aim to grow in our relationship with God through Jesus Christ, and to welcome others into an open Christian community where we can experience and explore the reality of God in an atmosphere of acceptance and trust. A warm welcome to all, especially Moya Holle representing Anglican Board of Missions. All invited to morning tea in the adjacent St Mark's Hall after each service.

Prayer for peace: especially for DRC and South Sudan Senior Anglican leaders have endorsed Pope Francis call for an ecumenical day of prayer for peace, with a particular focus on the Democratic Republic of Congo and South Sudan. It has now been endorsed by the acting primate of the Anglican Church of South Sudan, the secretary general of the Anglican Communion, and the deputy director of the Anglican Centre in Rome. "Faced with the tragic continuation of conflict in several parts of the world, I invite all faithful to a special day of prayer for peace on 23 February, Friday of the First Week of Lent," Pope Francis said. "We will offer this in particular to the populations of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and of South Sudan." Lenten Gathering Introit and Processional hymn Welcome and Greeting The Lord be with you. And also with you. Bless the Lord who forgives all our sins, whose mercy endures for ever. Prayer of Preparation, all standing Almighty God, to whom all hearts are open, all desires known. and from whom no secrets are hidden: cleanse the thoughts of our hearts by the inspiration of your Holy Spirit, that we may perfectly love you, and worthily magnify your holy name, through Christ our Lord. Amen. Confession preceded by Ten Commandments on the First Sunday in Lent Compassion and forgiveness belong to the Lord our God, though we have rebelled and wandered far off. Let us then ask for mercy, confessing our sins, in penitence and faith, confident in God's forgiveness. Kyrie Eleison and Trisagion sung responses May your loving mercy come to me, O Lord, and your salvation according to your word. Lord, have mercy. Christ, have mercy. Lord, have mercy. Your word is a lantern to my feet and a light to my path: Lord, have mercy. Christ, have mercy. Lord, have mercy. O let your mercy come to me that I may live, for your law is my delight: Lord, have mercy. Christ, have mercy. Lord, have mercy. Holy God, holy and mighty, holy and immortal, have mercy on us.
