Third Collection There will be a 3rd Collection next weekend, May 13th & 14th for the Trinity Dome at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. Every diocese in the United States has been asked to take up a special one-time collection to pay for the completion of the Trinity Dome at the Basilica. This project will finish our nation s patronal church which began nearly a century ago. This loose collection will be taken up at all the Masses on the weekend of May 13-14th. Lay Ecclesial Ministry Formation Program Information Session Bishop Donald J. Hying will be hosting an information session for those interested in learning more about the Diocese of Gary s Lay Ecclesial Ministry (LEM) Formation Program. The LEM Program is a four-year program that prepares lay women and men to serve as ecclesial ministers within their parishes, as well as throughout the diocese. Ecclesial ministers are defined as lay women and men who have been prepared professionally for specific roles of service and leadership in and for the Church. The LEM program is also a prerequisite for those men discerning their call to the permanent diaconate. Courses for the class of 2021 will begin September 2017 and the application process is open now.
