Prayer Update From Israel (August 12, 2013) 6 Elul 5773 1. Elav Unto Him! 2013! This is the seventh year for the Elav youth and young adult conference in Israel! Beginning first in Jerusalem, then to a campground venue in the country, for the past several years the gathering has taken place in the heart of Tel Aviv. But this year the Lord very plainly instructed that it be moved to Haifa, the port city on Israel s north-west coast, below and rising up the slopes of the Carmel mountain range where the prophets Elijah and Elisha served the LORD in the time of the Kings. Elav in English means Unto Him. Sponsored by Succat Hallel (a 24/7 worship-intercession ministry in Jerusalem), it is a unique annual gathering, bringing together each summer hundreds of teenage and young-adult Israeli Jews, Israeli Arabs and Palestinian (i.e. those living in Judea, Samaria or Gaza) Arabs...as well as visiting youth and young adults from the nations, all joining over three days to seek the Lord together. Each year the Lord has increased His anointing over the powerful times of praise, worship, teaching and focused intercession among these young people. The worship will be led by Jewish and Arabic bands, as well as visiting worship leaders from abroad. And the teaching is done in Hebrew, Arabic and English with translation. Each year a miracle takes place as the Lord warms, then ignites hearts, breaking down barriers so that Jewish and Arabic young people find themselves worshipping with, praying with, embracing each other. We know of cases in which believing Palestinian youth allowed in from the disputed territories, testified to having never even seen Jewish young people before let alone been able to worship the same God together with them! We fervently believe that our Lord is laying a groundwork here for raising up a body of Believers in the Land who are unified in the one-ness which Yeshua/Yasuah prayed would characterize His church before He returns (John 17:22-23). Elav begins this coming Saturday evening (August 17 th ) and extends through the following Monday evening. It will take place in the Haifa Convention Center. Already there are over twice as many youth and young adults signed up as by this time before the conference last year. The logistics and cost for this magnitude of an event are enormous. Housing the young people involves large tents erected on the property of a congregation up on the mountain; transportation to and from the center; setting up a large and complicated sound and light system, and coordinating the dozens of volunteers. But there is a keen edge of anticipation this year

that the Lord will be releasing a work of His Spirit whose affect will be felt throughout the whole country! Perhaps the Lord may lead you to take part this Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday when many will be humbling themselves in a fast before the Lord to prepare the way that God s Kingdom Come! That His Will be Done! in the gathering in Haifa next weekend!! To assist us in our prayers, we print here some strategic prayer points provided earlier this week by Rick Ridings, Director of Succat Hallel and senior overseer of the Elav conference: 1. Praise God with us that we miraculously received the visas for seven Indonesian interns to come recently, and now about another 20 have received their visas to come to Elav! One of our guest speakers, Andy Tjokro, is a major leader in the revival in Indonesia. He and the other Indonesians will share about the move of God in Indonesia, and pray impartation over the Israeli youth. Pray that this will spark great faith in the youth of Israel. Since Indonesia has the greatest Muslim population in the world, and literally millions of Moslems have come to the Lord in the past 15 years, the revival there shows it can happen even in the hardest places. 2. Pray for the release of the entry permits that have been requested for about 100 Palestinian youth, and visas for a group of 6 wanting to come from Jordan. Pray that no security situation would develop that might hinder their entrance. Pray that the relationships between the Jewish and Arab youth will go even deeper this year, with more true friendships forming. 3. Praise the Lord that the Israeli registrations are presently far more than last year by this point, and the camping tents are already filled. Pray that there will be a real surge of desire to come among those Israeli youth who are still deciding whether or not to come. Pray that they will all come with a hunger to meet with God, and that they will all have life changing encounters with God. 4. Pray for fresh anointing to be upon every speaker, worship leader, worship team, and ministry team member. Pray that ministry team members will be anointed for words of knowledge, miracles, healings, and deliverance. 5. Please pray strength, health, and protection for all involved, and for our families. There have been strong health attacks on one worship leader, and on the wife of another. 6. Pray protection and shalom over all the administration, registration, sound and light equipment, and all other logistics. 7. Pray that the youth attending will come to the optional prayer/worship rooms in between the sessions, and receive a vision that they can do this same kind of waiting upon God back home after Elav 2013.

8. Pray that this will not be just an event, but the birthing of a great worship and prayer movement and harvest among the youth of Israel. Should the Lord lead you to contribute to the enormous financial expenses of this special series of meetings in Israel, please go for instructions to http://www.succathallel.com/?page_id=10. 2. JERUSALEM, A HEAVY STONE CAUSING A SEVERE WOUND Sunday morning Israelis awakened to the headlines that our Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu had undergone unanticipated emergency surgery overnight for an umbilical hernia. The operation, thankfully, was considered mild and a success but it was enough to make him miss his weekly Cabinet meeting, which was to have been centered round the confirmation of the first 26 of 104 convicted terrorists who are to be released as Israel s confidence-building measure for the current peace talks with the Palestinians. Today it was clarified that the list included 17 names of prisoners who murdered Israelis. The families of terror victims have 48 hours to appeal the government s decision and demonstrations continue to take place but few expect the decision to be rescinded. We are in sympathy with Mr. Netanyahu and pray for his healing and health but found our minds being drawn anew towards the 12 th chapter of Zechariah. For all the fact that the talks are ostensibly related to establishment of a state in Gaza, Judea and Samaria, no one questions that the ultimate contention involved has been and will be Jerusalem specifically, the ancient part including the Temple Mount and the Mount of Olives which the Palestinians and much of the world demand Israel withdraw from. Zechariah 12:2-3 (NKJ) reads, Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of drunkenness to all the surrounding peoples, when they lay siege against Judah and Jerusalem. And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces(or: tear rents for themselves David Baron), though all nations of the earth are gathered against it. Might the rent within himself at the beginning of the negotiations serve as a warning to our Prime Minister? This object of the Biblical warning is not just to the nations (Hebrew: goim) Jerusalem will be made a heavy stone for all the peoples (Hebrew: l chol-ha amim), including Israel herself if she attempts it. PLEASE PRAY: *For Prime Minister Netanyahu, that he will seek and hear God regarding Jerusalem, and not be a party to attempting to move her from her God ordained positioning. *For God Who makes peace in His high places whose armies are innumerable (Job 25:2), to oversee both the Israeli and Palestinian delegations to the peace talks and not allow an alliance or agreement to be made which violates His sovereign design, decree and timing for the lands in question. *That believers in Israel seek to understand and pursue God s priority for peace during this season. Stand therefore, having shod your feet with the preparation of the good news

of peace (Ephesians 6:14-15); How beautifully the feet of those bringing good news adorn the mountains those who proclaim Shalom (peace), who bring glad tidings of Good who proclaim Salvation, who say to Zion, Your God reigns! (Isaiah 52:7). THIS WEEK S TORAH PORTION: From ancient times there has been a weekly portion (Parashah) from the first five books of Moses (The Torah) and an ending (Haftarah) from the Prophets read on the Sabbath in synagogues around the world. This portion is given a Hebrew name drawn from the opening words of the Torah passage. An illustration of this practice appears to have been recorded in Luke 4:16 where Yeshua (Jesus) arrived in the synagogue in Nazareth and was asked to read the portion (Isaiah 61) from the Prophets. We have found that in perusing these weekly readings, not only are we provided opportunity to identify in the context of God s Word with millions of Jewish people around the world, but very often the Holy Spirit will illumine specific passages pertinent that week in our intercession for the Land and people of Israel. All texts are those of English translations of the Scriptures. The readings this week are called Ki-Tetzeh When you Go Out : Torah: Deuteronomy 21:10 25:19 Haftarah: Isaiah 54:1-10 *Deuteronomy 21:21, 22:21, 22:22, 22:24; 24:7; 23:14. Thus you shall purge away the evil from among you. As mentioned last week, the word for purge may also be translated to burn, kindle or root out. There are many situations and circumstances dealt with in these passages (some of necessity not making for the most pleasant reading) pointing to the fact that it is of great importance that God s people be set apart and clean both morally and physically, personally and as a community, since the LORD your God walks in the midst of your camp to deliver you and to defeat your enemies before you, therefore your camp must be holy; and He must not see anything indecent among you or He will turn away from you. *Deuteronomy 23:5. Nevertheless the LORD your God would not listen to Balaam, but the LORD your God turned the curse into a blessing for you, because the LORD your God loves you. *Deuteronomy 23:7. You shall not abhor an Egyptian, because you were an alien in his land. We believe this admonition to still be in effect today. PLEASE PRAY for a love for Egypt among the Body in Israel, even as political relations appear to be moving in a dangerous direction. Pray for the Body in Egypt to rise up in faith and love and hope and moving in the miraculous power of the Spirit of God. *Isaiah 54:2-3. Enlarge the place of your tent, and let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings; do not spare; lengthen your cords, and strengthen your stakes. For you shall expand to the right and to the left, and your descendants will inherit the nations, and make the desolate

cities inhabited. PLEASE PRAY: That Israel will come into that place of righteousness in her Messiah which will allow God to extend her borders to encompass the territory which He has ordained for her, a territory from which she will never be plucked up. *Isaiah 54:5. For your Maker is your husband, YHVH of Hosts is His name; and your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel; He is called the God of the whole earth. PLEASE PRAY: For revelation in Israel that God loves him in an intimate way and has provided a Redeemer for him, who is One with the Father All things came into being through Him (i.e. Yeshua/Jesus), and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being (John 1:3). *Isaiah 54:7-8. For a mere moment I have forsaken you, but with great mercies I will gather you. With a little wrath I hid My face from you for a moment; but with everlasting kindness I will have mercy on you, says the LORD, your Redeemer. *Isaiah 54:10. For the mountains shall depart and the hills be removed, but my kindness shall not depart from you, nor shall My covenant of peace be removed, says the LORD, who has mercy on you.
