INTERCESSION PRAYERS FOR SUNDAY, APRIL 1 EASTER SUNDAY PRIEST: Full of confidence in the risen Christ, we place before the Father our humble needs. 1) For Pope Francis, may the Holy Spirit continue to inspire his mission to bring all to the risen Christ, we pray 2) For civic leaders, may they have the resources they need in their work to feed the hungry, shelter the homeless and clothe the naked, we pray 3) For those who have not been baptized into the faith, may our witness of the risen Christ at work in our lives be a source of inspiration for them, we pray 4) For our gathering of family and friends this Easter, may it be a time of witness, growth and harmony, we pray 5) For those near death, may they soon be embraced by the Risen Christ, we pray PRIEST: Almighty God, as we gather to celebrate the resurrection of your Son, strengthen our desire to be good and faithful witnesses of the Gospel message of salvation. This we ask through Christ our Lord.
INTERCESSION PRAYERS FOR SUNDAY, APRIL 8 2 ND SUNDAY OF EASTER DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY PRIEST: With confidence in the risen Christ, let us ask Him to bring our needs and petitions to the Father. 1) For all members of the Church, may our witness be a beacon of hope to the world, and an instrument of God s peace, we pray 2) For policymakers, may the Spirit of God inspire them to respect the dignity and inherent worth of each person, we pray 3) For those who are near death, may the knowledge of Christ s resurrection give them strength and hope, we pray 4) For peace in our homes, may we turn away from division and discord and work to foster reconciliation, we pray 5) For all the faithful departed, may they come to share in the fullness of eternal life in Christ, we pray PRIEST: Almighty and eternal God, we ask you to hear our prayers and draw us ever closer to you. We ask this through Christ our Risen Lord.
INTERCESSION PRAYERS FOR SUNDAY, APRIL 15 3 RD SUNDAY OF EASTER PRIEST: In the joy of the Resurrection, we bring our prayers to our merciful Father, who knows our every need. 1) For bishops, priests and deacons, may they be led by the Holy Spirit, proclaiming the risen Christ, to draw souls to God s kingdom, we pray 2) For the salvation of the world, that all people, from the ends of the earth to our own city, may hear the Gospel and believe, we pray 3) For all who struggle with doubt and disbelief, that through our prayers and witness, they may know the love of Christ, we pray 4) For the people of this parish, may we live as an Easter people, advocating for the protection of all life, from conception to natural death, we pray 5) For our departed brothers and sisters, may they enjoy eternal peace and happiness before the throne of God, we pray PRIEST: God our Father, you raised Jesus from the dead to restore us to life. Please hear our prayers this day, we ask in the name of your Son, Christ our Lord.
INTERCESSION PRAYERS FOR SUNDAY, APRIL 22 4 TH SUNDAY OF EASTER PRIEST: Knowing that Jesus is the Good Shepherd, let us bring before Him our prayers and petitions. 1) For Pope Francis and all leaders in the Church, may they continue to witness with the heart of the Good Shepherd, we pray 2) For judges and magistrates whose decisions affect the lives of many, may the Holy Spirit guide them to embrace the principles of fairness and mercy, we pray 3) For all those who feel lost or abandoned, may they feel the presence of Jesus, the Good Shepherd, in their lives, we pray 4) For this worship community, may we model the love, mercy, and compassion of God to all whom we meet, we pray 5) For all who have died, may the Good Shepherd gather them into the eternal pastures of heaven, we pray PRIEST: Lord God, You never abandon us or lead us astray. Please provide for us today by answering our prayers, for we ask them through Jesus Christ, our Lord.
INTERCESSION PRAYERS FOR SUNDAY, APRIL 29 5 TH SUNDAY OF EASTER PRIEST: Loving Father, confident that You know our hearts and hear our prayers, we bring forth our petitions this day. 1) For God s Church, may she remain always close to the Lord and his holy will, we pray 2) For government leaders and those in positions of power, may they serve others selflessly and seek first the path of collaboration and cooperation, we pray 3) For those who grow the food we eat, may their fields be blessed with gentle rain and temperate weather, we pray 4) For those gathered here today, and for all those we love, may we abide ever more closely in the Lord and bear good fruit for the kingdom, we pray 5) For those who have died, may they bask in the light of the Lord in heaven, we pray PRIEST: God our Father, we trust that You will hear and answer these and all of our prayers in Your time and according to Your will. We ask this through Your Son, Christ our Lord.
