MINISTRY OPPORTUNITY Lead Pastor Plainview Open Bible Church 1488 Johnsville Brookville Road Brookville, OH 45309 Loving God & Loving Others Community Profile POBC has a Brookville, Ohio address but is nestled between Brookville, Ohio and New Lebanon, Ohio. Brookville is a community of close to 6,000 residents, and New Lebanon is a community of 4,000 residents. The median age for Brookville is 42.3, and New Lebanon is 36.9 with lots of families with kids in the area. Both are bedroom communities to Dayton, Ohio and surrounding suburbs. POBC has the best of both worlds. The church is in between these two small municipalities that enjoy a close-knit family friendly feel but are close to the big city amenities. The communities are close knit, event oriented, and committed to betterment. It is normal to attend a high school football game and talk with your neighbors. The local schools rank high in academic performance, with high involvement from parents, businesses, and churches. The racial makeup of both Brookville and New Lebanon is 95% white, and is situated next to Trotwood, Ohio which is 28% White and 68% African American. The greater Dayton, Ohio area is racially diverse. Brookville, New Lebanon, West Alexandria, Eaton, Lewisburg, Clayton, Englewood, Union, and Trotwood are great places to raise a family and provide lots of employment opportunities and activities. The cost of living is relatively low, the medium home cost is below the national average, and tax rates are low for this area. Metropolitan Dayton has many colleges including the largest community college (Sinclair Community College) in the country providing quality education at lower than average costs. The area boasts many fine hospitals and healthcare facilities and many diverse employment opportunities. Area Attractions Sycamore State Park is located less than 6 miles from POBC and provides almost 2,400 acres of Hunting, Archery, Fishing, Hiking trails, Horseback Riding, Snowmobile Trails, Picnic Shelters, Snow Sledding, Overnight Accommodations, Ponds and Rivers to enjoy. Five River Metro Parks provides over 18 very well maintained park systems within 20 minutes of POBC. These parks provide just about anything any outdoor enthusiast would want to do. Hueston Woods State Park, Lodge, and Conference Center is less than 30 miles from POBC and is well renowned. National Museum of the United States Air Force is less than 20 minutes away and is part of Wright Patterson Airforce Base, one of the largest in the world. The museum is world renown and provides tons of activities for the entire family. Shopping- There are many indoor and outdoor malls and just about any store you would need or want within a 15-20 minute drive from POBC. Food- there are many restaurants and grocery stores within a 20 min drive of POBC. Kings Island is a nationally known theme park with a waterpark and roller-coasters less than 40 min away. You would be hard pressed not to find any activity you could ever want to try or be involved in within a 30 mile radius of POBC. Lots of professional and collegiate sporting events within a short driving range

Weather POBC is in the mid-western part of Ohio and has 4 distinct seasons. Winter will have colder temps with a 30 degree average but can get below zero for short periods of times. Winter time is beautiful with average snowfall. The area has great equipment to keep the roads clear and salted for safety. Springtime is colorful with lots of flowers and rainfall that causes the landscape to come alive. Summer can get hot and humid but with average temps, it makes this area bustling with activities. There are many activities to enjoy during the summer months. Fall is one of the most beautiful times of the year in the mid-west, with the picturesque changing of the leaves in beautiful colors. The temps are great for outdoor activities, and the fall hikes are absolutely breathtaking. Church Profile POBC was founded as an Open Bible Church in 1940 and has a long history with Open Bible and the surrounding area. We started out in a one room schoolhouse but have expanded over the years. A new sanctuary that seats 350-400 was built in the late 1980 s, and a new gymnasium was built in 2003. The church is totally debt free. The church facility provides almost 14,000 square feet of indoor space on over 5 acres of land with a large paved parking lot. The church currently has about 150 people that call POBC their home church with an average attendance of 90. Although the church is in a country setting, the church makeup is mostly suburban with many professionals from many different careers. The church is highly involved in the community and draws from many locales. We have a traditional Sunday-School at 9:30 am with kids, youth and adult classes. Our 10:30am service is contemporary in worship but also sings older songs on occasion, and the preaching contains a strong Bible base. The church is open to the move of the gifts of the spirit, and the altars are always open for ministry during the worship time. Wednesday night service provides something for the whole family with Missionettes, Royal Rangers, Youth and Adult Bible Study. The Wednesday night adult Bible Study, strong in traditional Biblical teaching and interaction, takes place in the fellowship hall with a relaxed atmosphere. POBC has a long history in the community and has had attendance of over 250 in its past. Over the last 12 years we have faced some challenges, and have worked hard to rebuild the trust of the communities we serve. We like to serve the people in our towns and have built a reputation of trust and ministry with the people both churched and unchurched. In 2016 POBC was awarded the Non-Profit organization of the year by the Brookville BBB, and also was awarded a community service award from the Secretary of State of Ohio. Over the last few years, POBC has been called upon to minister to the school system during times of crisis due to the deaths of local students, providing counseling to students and parents and conducting prayer services. The Pastor at POBC was called upon to perform the funeral services for the students even though the families were not attenders or members of our church. We have worked hard to better our reputation in the community and are poised for growth. The Plainview congregational demographic consists of all ages. POBC recently took a Natural Church Development survey and has designed new structures and initiatives that will propel the church to new growth. We have dedicated leaders and members excited to work alongside their new Pastor to help take outreach to the community and bring growth to the church.

The Pastor is the chief administrator of the church, but empowers others to help lead. The church provides the finances to enable the Pastor, his wife, and family to attend all Open Bible district, regional, and national events to assure Open Bible cooperation, training, and fellowship. Church Ministries Encore Life: ministry to mature adults lead by dedicated long time Open Bible leaders Women s- Active woman s ministry with a dedicated leader Youth- The youth group is moderate in size but in recent years has had 30 active teens and is led by a Volunteer Youth Leader POBC has a new deacon committee ministry, begun in 2018, that assists the pastor in caring for the church facilities

Sunday School- Kids, Teens and Adults Highly developed Children s Church Program after Sunday morning worship is led by the pastor s wife with several faithful dedicated teachers and helpers Nursery Program is available during all services, and has dedicated nursery workers that share the love of Jesus with the children. Wednesday Night- Newer Missionettes and Royal Ranger program, youth classes, and adult bible study led by the Pastor. Feeding Program- The first Monday of the month, we partner with a Mobile Food Pantry providing the place (Our Gym) and manpower to feed upwards of 170 families with 2 weeks of groceries. We also provide face-painting for kids and a prayer table for those requesting prayer. We also do special things throughout the year (i.e. Santa with gifts for the kids, Easter Egg Hunts and etc ) Various outreaches to the community throughout the year POBC and our current Pastor started an orphanage in India in 2010 that we help to support on a monthly basis (affiliated with Open Bible but receives principle support from POBC). The pastor has visited and ministered there many times. POBC wants the new Pastor to help champion this cause and keep the vision before the people. The current Pastor is committed and will stay involved and help the new pastor in this venture where needed. POBC cooperates and participates with all Open Bible Programs and Missions. Lead Pastor Profile POBC is looking for a lead pastor who is personable, willing to listen, confident but humble, of good character, and who has a calling to be a pastor and not just looking for a ministry position. Our desire is to find a pastor willing to guide the congregation into greater spiritual depth, life application of the Word of God, and outreach to the community in order to help bring people into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We would prefer someone with experience as a lead pastor or associate pastor, but we are open to someone with a strong call of God with the training and experience to lead POBC. Our desire is that the lead pastor imparts encouraging vision that engages the congregation, community and culture. The pastor should be committed to their family and willing and able to relate to all generations. The children and youth ministries are an important core value of the POBC; the lead pastor must invest in the upcoming generations, while not neglecting the others. Outreach to the community is an important core value and the pastor must share that same value and willingness to reach outside the four walls of the church. POBC embraces their Pentecostal heritage and wants a pastor who is sensitive to the Holy Spirit and open to the operation of the Gifts of the Spirit. If the prospect is married, we have no pre-defined role for the pastor s spouse (or children) but would like for them to be supportive and relationally connected to the church family. POBC has leaders and members that are eager and willing to work alongside their new lead pastor to bring growth both numerically, spiritually and relationally with Jesus and one-another.
