Ask what kids remember about today s large-group lesson. Let kids share news or prayer requests, and pray with them. SHARE Say: The Israelites used the gifts that God gave them and worked together to build the Tabernacle. Find a partner and talk about a talent you have that you can use for God. Matthew 10:8 Group Activity Tabersnackles YOU LL NEED graham crackers Life Savers gummy candies sprinkles softened cream cheese or frosting paper plates plastic knives napkins antibacterial gel or wet wipes 1. GET READY Have kids clean their hands. Say: A talent is something you re really good at. Let s use our talents to work together to build a Allow 10 minutes tabersnackle. Assign each child a role in making graham cracker tabernacles. For example, kids can be Paper Plate Passers, Cheese Spreaders, Cleanup Crew, and so on. 2. BUILD Line up the building materials in front of your group. In assembly-line fashion, have children (each with a single job) follow something like this suggested pattern: 1. Place five graham cracker sections on each paper plate. 2. Spread cream cheese cement on the cracker edges. 3. Stick the crackers together to form four walls and a roof. 4. Add candy jewels to the walls using the cream cheese as glue. 5. Add sprinkles on the roof and walls. 3. FINISH After all tabersnackles are completed, say a prayer of thanks and let children enjoy their treats. 4. DISCUSS What was it like to work together to make your tabersnackles? What s another talent you have that you can use for God? 5. MAKE THE CONNECTION Say: It was fun to work together to build a tabersnackle. Memory Maker Allow 55 minutes YOU LL NEED Bible Memory Makers 1 Treasure Map per child (photocopied from page 23) colored pencils permanent marker 1. SAY THE VERSE Hand out the Bible Memory Maker Treasure Bags. Say: Let s say our Key Verse from Matthew 10:8 together it s on our Treasure Bags. It says: Give as freely as you have received! That means you give things to others without expecting anything back. 2. DRAW Say: God s given you special talents to use for him. On your Treasure Map, draw a picture of yourself using a talent for God. Maybe you ll draw yourself singing a song for God or sharing a toy to show God s love. Give each child a Treasure Map, and set out colored pencils to share. Have children draw near the Start Here! area of the map. 3. DISCUSS Talk about the talent you drew. What s it like to use your talents for God? 4. MAKE THE CONNECTION Say: God gave each of us talents, and it s good that u we use our When we use our talents for God, we re giving our talents back to him. And because God gave us our talents freely, we give as freely as we have received. Use a permanent marker to write children s names on their Treasure Bags. Have children place their Treasure Maps in their bags, and then collect the bags to use in next week s lesson. Living Inside Out Every Day! And the Israelites had some pretty amazing talents! God s given all of us amazing talents, and we can use our talents for God, too. Do You Remember? Talk about these questions with your child: What talents did the Israelites use to build the Tabernacle? What talents do you have that you can use for God? Daily Challenge Choose a Challenge! Your child chose the marked challenge for the week. Help your child remember to follow through and live out his or her faith. CHALLENGE 1 Think of a talent that each person in your family has. Talk to your family members about how they can use their CHALLENGE 2 Use one of your talents this week, such as singing or drawing, to tell someone about Jesus. You might sing Jesus Loves Me to your grandma or draw a picture of Jesus and give it to a friend. Take Home Preschool Lesson 1 Tabernacle Triumph 1. Work together as a family to build a play tabernacle. 2. Gather LEGOs, blocks, or any other toy building materials you have on hand. 3. Build a play tabernacle read Exodus 26 to find a description. You don t need to be as detailed as the Israelites, of course, but try to create the main parts of the Tabernacle. 4. Compliment family members on their talents such as creativity, a steady hand, patience, and so on. 5. Display your tabernacle as a reminder to use your A Talented Family 1. Have family members each pick a talent they have. 2. Stop at different times during the day for a Talent Break. Have a family member present a talent singing a song, playing an instrument, or even bouncing a ball. 3. Applaud and cheer for each person. 4. Discuss ways each person s talent could be used for God.
