THE FIFTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME Dear Friends, It's been a blessing having the doors of the church open every day. I guestimate that at least 50-60 people come in to pray or look around. I have been able to speak with many of them. Please ask God to open visitors' hearts to Him as they enter through the doors of God's mercy. The Summer Chapel is up and running, and none too soon with this week's hot weather. It has been nice to worship and pray in this more intimate (and cooler!) gathering place. We hope that you might join us for daily Mass, which brings so many blessings. I was very happy to meet this week with representatives from St. Paul's Parish Artist Group. They have had many successes in the past and have greatly contributed to the life of the parish. Please look for more information from the group in upcoming bulletins. We look forward to many folks sharing their artistic gifts with all, for the greater glory of God. I have two projects (at least!!) that we are tackling right now. The first is to give some much needed TLC to the space commonly called Room 202, which serves many good purposes for the parish. There are some other spaces I'd like also to address. If you have any professional experience with interior design/decorating, or have a good eye, or have any connections for acquiring gently used or reasonably priced furniture (comfortable chairs, floor lamps, etc...) I'd love to speak with you! We also need to address the care of the Choir School building, starting with decor for the corridors and classrooms. I am looking for professionally framed pictures or wall mounted statues, icons, etc...of any size that would reflect the themes of the Catholic faith, music, or education. We are also on the lookout for accent tables in excellent condition for some of the entry areas. Thanks for anything you might be able to do or suggest. God blessings on these days. Please remember in your prayers our parishioners who are ill. In Christ, SUMMER CHAPEL AT ST. PAUL S The Summer Chapel in the air conditioned DiGiovanni Hall is officially open through August 28. All weekday Masses as well as the Saturday 9:00am, 5:00pm Vigil and the Sunday 7:30am Masses will be celebrated in DiGiovanni Hall. Please note that the Sunday 9:30 and 11:00am Masses will be celebrated in the church. SUMMER LECTORS, EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS, SERVERS With summer upon us and folks away on vacation we are in need of lectors, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion and Servers for the various Masses at St. Paul s. If you are willing to serve at Daily Mass on a particular day/ time or at a Weekend Mass, contact Nancy at (617) 491-8400, x303 or nnicol@stpaulparish.org. Thank you!! GOING AWAY THIS SUMMER? All of us at St. Paul s hope that you have a restful and enjoyable summer vacation! As you head off from Harvard Square, please be sure to remember St. Paul s during the summer months. Although a more relaxed pace takes over, the good work of proclaiming Jesus Christ very much continues here the sacraments are celebrated, the outreach continues in a variety of forms, visitors are welcomed and year-round parishioners are in and out, and yes, the regular expenses continue even in the summer. Your weekly offertory contribution is of great help during the summer while you are away you can set a recurring gift through our on-line giving portal on the parish web site or by using the Giving-Kiosk in the vestibule of the church. Thank you for remembering St. Paul s while you are away! PARISH SUPPORT AND FINANCES Our Offertory this weekend, July 9/10 has one collection, our regular Parish Support. Thank you for your generosity. Prior Offertory: July 2/3 $5,192 FYTD Total: $5,192 Fr. Kelly

JULY 10, 2016 CHECK OUT WHAT S HAPPENING AT ST. PAUL S FOOD PANTRY Thanks to generous donations from parishioners and friends of the food pantry, we were able to make a substantial contribution to Fair Foods, the organization that provides our produce. With our donation, they were able to replace their dying 1988 truck so they can continue to rescue thousands of pounds of produce each week. We owe a special thank you to the parishioners who recently assembled bean soup kits for the food pantry as well as to Cardullo's for providing us with treats to give out. Current needs at the pantry include cereal, crackers, plain white rice, canned tomatoes, canned fruit, and juice. MASS INTENTIONS AT ST. PAUL S You are reminded that Intentions for daily and weekend Masses are being accepted. Masses may be offered to remember those who have died, for those who are ill, as well as in thanksgiving for a birthday, anniversary or for a special intention. Please contact the Parish Office during the week for more details and to reserve a particular Mass. SANCTUARY LAMP The Sanctuary Lamp, which burns for eight days and nights at the tabernacle, symbolizes the presence of Christ and marks the boundaries of holy space in the Church. If you are interested in learning how to donate a Sanctuary Lamp in memory of a loved one, please contact Nancy Nicolaou at (617) 491-8400 ext. 303. 2016 CATHOLIC APPEAL UPDATE WE HAVE REACHED OUR GOAL!!!
