Church of the Saviour June 2015

Why this book? Hanging by the front doors when leaving the church building is a sign that says His last command, our first concern. When we think about the last command that Jesus gave his disciples Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age. we sometimes get tunnel vision on the go and all nations parts of the sentence and begin thinking that this message is only for some people to go somewhere far away. However, this command is for each of us to impact the places that God has put us and to reach out to nearby communities with the message of Jesus Christ. One way for us to do this is to partner with local ministries that are impacting their neighborhoods and communities. This book is one method that we hope you use to connect with what God is doing in several local ministries in and around Philadelphia. In it you will find a brief description about each ministry, current ways that you can pray for them and opportunities where you can get directly involved. It also includes contact information for each ministry as well as individuals at our church who are already partnered with that ministry. We hope that you find this book to be a useful resource to help you be a part of God s great commission. Together in his service, Urban Focus Steering Committee

Our goal is that these students would realize their full God-given potential and make moves to positively impact their city. The Masculinity and Manhood Course How should a man handle conflict? Is the media s portrayal of masculinity accurate? What does it mean to be a man? All of these questions and more are being discussed by young men at the Boys Latin Charter School.
