he stories we experience and collect each year never get old T and they hold the same theme: The church is still God s #1 instrument for getting hope to the world. We have prayed that God would use Fountain Springs Church for whatever purposes He wishes for whatever purposes honor Him the most. Just in 2013, He allowed us to participate in some of the most incredible moments one could hope to experience in a lifetime. In 2013, we saw 1,399 people make decisions to begin a life devoted to Jesus. Many of these people got plugged into serving opportunities and Life Groups. In 2013, we saw over 1,300 volunteers participate in Love Rapid City. Every week, volunteers tackle a project or role so our city sees Jesus in the most tangible ways. Teacher workrooms were renovated. Classrooms were painted. Cabinets were installed. Flowers and grass were planted. Shelves were stocked for non-profits. Meals were served over and over again to people in great need of love. We have so many reasons to celebrate and thank God for another incredible year. Our Annual Report is just one of these ways we re able to celebrate what God is doing! Our 2013 Annual Report will walk your through the year in numbers. It s a visual testimony reflecting on God s faithfulness. I hope it helps you see why the work being done in and through Fountain Springs Church is a good investment. If you consider yourself a Fountain Springer, I hope as you read through this report, you ll take time to stop and thank God for His favor, mercy, and blessing. If you re looking through this report as an outside observer, I hope you ll be encouraged to commit yourself to the work of God through the local church here or wherever you may live. Lets keep showing people who Jesus is!!! David Kinnan Lead Pastor 2

FSC Annual Report I just want to thank you for the impact that your church is having on our community. I am teacher and a member of another church in Rapid City. I have been so impressed by the way that I see kids reacting to your church and it is such a blessing. It is so evident that His light is shining through your church fully and you are making a difference in our community. Thank you! Keep on doing what your doing! - Anonymous Rapid City Resident 5

2013 Financial Statistics Wow. As 2013 came to an end, we were all witness to another incredible year. God blessed His movement at FSC. And, I can t wait to see what God is going to do in the coming years. I m Scott Jones, Executive Pastor at Fountain Springs Church. It is my honor to report to you about the practices and safeguards we have set in place to ensure that all of the contributions which you so generously place in our trust, are accurately accounted for and properly utilized in accordance with the purposes communicated to you. It is the continuing goal of the FSC Finance Office to stay ahead of our growth through the use of technology and additional resources and to instill the highest standards of accounting practice and integrity. Here are just a few of the ways we have continued to develop our Finance Office to meet the growing needs for a stronger and more flexible financial infrastructure: We converted to a new purchasing card to gain processing efficiency, enhance reporting and analysis capability, and strengthen controls and monitoring oversight. This was done at no cost to the church. 6

FSC Annual Report 2013 Financial Statistics We migrated from an antiquated accounting system to a fully automated enterprise platform that affords us even greater accuracy, efficiency, checks and balances, more in depth expedited reporting, increased accountability and sustainable accounting practices. This migration costs less than $2500 and we will save thousands of dollars each year in human capital utilization. We transitioned to a new member interface called U Connect. U Connect allows all Fountain Springers and guests to stay informed, sign up for Life Groups, special events, volunteer and give tithes/offerings. There are many other advantages to U Connect. I encourage you to stop by one of the U Connect kiosks (ipads) in the foyer or log on through our website, fountainspringschurch.com System enhancements are not the only indicators of building for the future. To support growth, additional expertise is also needed. That said, we have also invested in our Staff. We will work together in the coming years to ensure our safeguards and controls maintain the highest degree of transparency. We take very seriously the responsibility of properly managing and accounting for your contributions. And I want to take a moment to thank all of you who have chosen our safe and secure online process as your way to contribute. This indeed allows more funds for Kingdom work. You will be happy to know that as of this writing, the percent of giving online for general contributions has risen from the 27 percent in 2012, to 43 percent. If you have not done so, please check out our website to see if online giving will work for you. Finally, if you ever have a question about how our processes work, please let us know. I continue to be very humbled to serve and I am overwhelmed by what God is doing in and through this local church. Blessings! Scott Jones Executive Pastor, FSC 7

If every Fountain Springer would commit to tithe, look what we could do in just one year $3,700,000 We could eliminate our entire mortgage on this building. $2,164,000 We could cover our entire operating budget $180,000 We could sponsor and build 3 houses for Habitat for Humanity $100,000 We could fund Love Week $100,000 We could pay for a shop for the SHIFT Garage and fund the operating cost 9

Student Ministry (6th grade through 12th grade) Our Student Ministry is changing the lives of students in Rapid City. Check out our student s stories Camp is one of the most amazing experiences that I have had in my life. I used to be scared when I saw people standing there raising their hands, dancing and singing, wondering why and how they weren t embarrassed. Now I am the one up there, standing on chairs, having a good time - worshiping God like He was right next to me. -Josh Brentlinger, 9th Grade Coming from my past, I don t have a positive father figure in my life. FSC Annual Report 2013 Life Groups Life Groups are one of the ways we build community at Fountain Springs Church. As our church grows, Life Groups provide opportunities to build connections and meet the growing needs of our family of believers! On almost every night of the week, people meet to build relationships, find encouragement, discover principles from the Word of God for everyday life, and just have fun! It s real! It s relational! It s relevant! Look at these stories I absolutely have loved my Life Groups. My woman s group changed my life as I now know Christ gives us Christian friends to lean on and grow with. Nice to know we don t have to live life alone. The Sunday night group has helped challenge my husband and I as a couple to grow closer to Christ and each other. This group has been great also. Fountain Springs Life Groups are life-changing. - Jenn Horst I never felt really connected to the church until I joined this Life Group. - Donna Bland 13

2013 Celebrate Recovery This year, Fountain Springs launched Celebrate Recovery. This ministry for those with hurts, hang-ups and habits exploded with both leaders and participants. By the end of December, Celebrate Recovery was averaging over 60 each week for an open Friday night meeting, with almost 30 being trained in small groups during the week. Celebrate Recovery has given me a place that I feel completely accepted and loved. I have a family I never knew I needed or wanted. It has given me a safe place to work on my issues where I know we are not judged and others can relate to what I am dealing with! - Paula N. This, for me, is the best part of Celebrate Recovery: We get to give. For most of my life, I have taken from people and used them for everything that I could get. I found my comfort in my addictions. I always thought that the power was found in my own strength. What a relief to finally discover that the power is Jesus Christ and He shows me through my weakness! What a blessing for us to be a vessel to be used by God to help comfort those that are in need. How awesome is our God that He can take our weaknesses and exchange them for powerful testimonies that comfort others. He takes our messes and makes them our message. - Doug C. 14
