The Diocese of St. Petersburg Will Be Consecrated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary on May 6 In an effort to lead all people closer to the Heart of Jesus, Bishop Gregory Parkes will consecrate the parishes, schools, charities, ministries and all people who live in the five counties of the Diocese to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. All are invited to the Cathedral of St. Jude the Apostle (5815 5th Ave N, St. Petersburg) on May 6 at 3 p.m. for a Holy Hour led by Bishop Parkes to take part in this special celebration during the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Diocese of St. Petersburg. To consecrate means to dedicate or set aside for a sacred purpose. Mary s life was set aside for the sole purpose of serving Jesus. If I do not write checks, how do I keep my checkbook balance straight? Since your contribution is made at a pre-established time, you simply record it in your check register on the right date. Electronic contributions are recorded for you on your bank statement as well as your online reports. 6. Without a canceled check, how can I prove I made my contribution? Your bank statement gives you an itemized list of electronic transactions as well as your online reports. 7. Can I put different amounts in offerings and have all of them withdrawn at different times? You can set up to contribute to different offerings at different times; HOWEVER you will have to do each one separately. You will receive a receipt for each one. 8. What if I change bank accounts? Login and update your account information. 9. Is Online Giving risky? It's less risky than writing checks or bringing cash to church. On Saturday, May 5th at Spectrum Field, the Clearwater Threshers play the Dunedin Blue Jays. Again this year it s Star Wars Night! Mingle with your favorite characters as members of the Tampa Chapter of the 501st Legion take over Spectrum Field. Stick around after the game, weather permitting, for a Star Wars themed fireworks spectacular. Our group will be part of the Big Shark Café. For $21.00 per person, includes the ticket to the game and all you can eat and drink for 2 1/2 hours. Gates open at 5:00 p.m. and the game starts at 6:15 p.m. Seated in the covered party deck on the suite level, this Theatre Style padded club seating is out of the weather and a great view of the game. It also provides a private elevator to the suite level. The menu includes: Hot Dogs, BBQ Sandwiches, Burgers, Cheeseburgers, Peanuts, Ice Cream Sandwiches, and Soft Drinks & Bottled Water. Parents, children 4 years old and younger are free! A portion of each ticket goes to the Seminarian Birthday gift card project.
