THE SCIENCE OF CREATION Lesson 07-01 Secular, Biblical, and Biological World Views 4
WORLD VIEWS 5
Debates [1] By the late 1970 s, debates between creationists and evolutionists were being held on university campuses. Luther Sunderland writes: Evolutionists such as Isaac Asimov and Stephen Jay Gould were stating that since the creationist scientists had won all of the more than 100 debates, the evolutionists should not debate them. 6
Debates Evolution is the foundation for many of our educational, psychological, and social ideas. [11] This is illustrated plainly when you examine the various world views prominent in our society today. 7
Scoffers Will Come Peter warns that scoffers will come in the last days, and they are dumb on purpose. 2 Peter 3:3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, 4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. (Continued) 8
Scoffers Will Come 5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: 6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: 7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. They hold to uniformatarianist views, that the past must be interpreted by the processes and rates now acting in the present. 9

WORLD VIEWS [80;81] In the chart, World Views, notice that there are four prevailing world views Secular Humanism, Marxist-Leninism, Cosmic Humanism, and Biblical Christianity. Secular Humanism and Marxist-Leninism are anti God, and are based on a foundation of evolution. 11
WORLD VIEWS The Cosmic Humanism world view, or New Age world view, combines humanism and eastern religions, and expressed in the Gaia (mother earth) cult of the environmental movement. The Cosmic Humanism world view is also based on a foundation of evolution The Biblical Christianity world view is in opposition, but many Christians buy into parts of the others. 12
WORLD VIEWS [80;81] The Moslems have a fifth world view that involves bringing about a One World Islamic State. Let s briefly consider the four basic world views expressed by most people in this country as shown on the chart: 13

Changes in World View 17
Changes in World View We are gradually being infected by the permissiveness and ideas of Secular Humanism. We are more tolerant than in the past, and we are being persuaded by the arguments for a permissive lifestyle. The challenge for the Christian is to avoid the subtle changes to his world view by the other prevailing world views. 18
CONDITIONED BY OUR SCHOOLS AND THE MEDIA Much of the change in world view is due to conditioning in the public school and media arena. According to Samuel Blumenfeld in NEA: The Trojan Horse of American Education: The road to humanist curriculum [in the public schools] began in 1918 with the NEA's Seven Cardinal Principles which stressed humanist ethical values to replace those of traditional 19 religion. [152]
Takeover of Harvard [151;153] Samuel Blumenfeld, writing in IS PUBLIC EDUCATION NECESSARY?: [From 1805] Harvard became the Unitarian Vatican, so to speak, dispensing a religious and secular liberalism that was to have profound and enduring effects on the evolution of American cultural, moral, and social values. the beginning of the long journey to the secular humanist world view that now dominates American culture. 20
Mass Media [81] David Noebel in his 1991 book, Understanding the Times, has said: "America's colleges and universities are not the only areas of Secular Humanist influence, however. The mass media continually publish and broadcast the Humanist worldview. 21
Mass Media [154] A study done at Florida State University and published in a book by Thomas Dye titled Who's Running America?, states: Television tells Americans what to feel as well as what to think about. Again, in the same book, Thomas Dye says: Newspeople decide what the news will be, how it will be presented, and how it will be interpreted. As David Brinkley explained, News is what I say it is. It's something worth knowing 22 by my standards.
Mass Media [154] In the same book, Thomas Dye continues: "In reality, political issues do not just 'happen.' Creating an issue, dramatizing it, calling attention to it, and pressuring government to do something about it are important political tactics of agenda-setting. These tactics are employed by influential individuals, organized interest groups, political candidates, government leaders, and most of all, by the mass media. 23
Mass Media [154] The Florida State Study Found: It is true that the nation's media elite is the most liberal of the nation's elite groups. When TV newscasters insist that they are impartial, objective, and unbiased, they may sincerely believe that they are, because in the world in which they live--the New York and Washington world of newspeople, writers, intellectuals, artists--the established liberal point of view has been so uniformly voiced. 24
Secular Humanist s Methods & Goals According to Tim LaHaye in his book, BATTLE FOR THE PUBLIC SCHOOLS: [151] THE Secular humanists have gravitated to four major fields for three centuries-and in this order. Education from day-care centers to graduate schools. Government the promotion of antimoral legislation. Law the best professional springboard to politics, but also a controlling influence over the judicial system. [and] 25
Secular Humanist s Methods & Goals [151] Media the most effective way to communicate their ideology to the masses as: Journalists Writers Publishers TV and radio owners, producers, script and screen writers, directors, actors, newscasters and talkshow hosts 26
SECULARIZATION [151] In the same book, Tim Lahaye continues: Gradually, however, we have been secularized and don t think for a moment it was an accident! It was all planned by humanists. 27
SECULARIZATION (Continued) [151] Tim LaHaye describes their strategy: First: Take over the colleges and universities, turning them into religious citadels for the teaching of the religion of humanism while excluding or ridiculing the teachings of traditional religions based on the Bible. Second: Train the next generation of journalists, lawyers, politicians, educators and other 28 molders of public opinion.
SECULARIZATION (Continued) [151] Third: Get former students now in government to pass laws and regulations favorable to humanist causes and vote them large amounts of money collected from taxes to support their work. 29
Evolution is the Pied Piper of This Age. Evolution is the Pied Piper of This Age. Both the Secular Humanists and Marxists have codified their beliefs. [53;155] They both tell you what they are up to. 30
Evolution is the Pied Piper of This Age. The Secular Humanists have their HUMANIST MANIFESTO I AND II. [53] The Marxists have THE COMMUNIST MANIFESTO, by Karl Marx. [155] If they have expended such efforts for their beliefs, don t you think they intend to promote them? Remember, the foundation for both is godless evolution. 31
The Threat to Christianity 32
The Threat to Christianity The theory of evolution is foundational to all worldviews presented on the chart except Biblical Christianity. The greatest threat to the Biblical Christian worldview comes in the area of Biology in the form of evolution. The Christian worldview is attacked by godless evolution in the schools, the movies and television, and in newspapers and magazines. 33
Secular Humanism 34
Secular Humanism [80] Secular Humanists have no choice but to believe that man is a result of a purposeless and natural process. The Humanist s compatible with evolution. world view is only the idea of atheistic There is no other. 35
Secular Humanism [80] The Humanist s religion is science, and the findings of science is the only place they can seek truth. Science cannot test the supernatural; therefore the supernatural (ie. Special creation) is excluded as the explanation for the origin of life. 36
Secular Humanism [80] Evolution is still only a theory, but Humanist s refuse to admit it. Carl Sagan states this belief: Evolution is a fact, not a theory. 37
Secular Humanism [80] What would you say if someone told you that all things came from rocks? This is exactly what those that believe in evolution must believe. This implies that some form of spontaneous generation must have taken place. But, we have already seen that spontaneous generation from non-living matter is impossible. 38
Secular Humanism [80] The only alternative to this concept is some type of supernatural force. Humanists and Marxists are left with spontaneous generation as their only explanation for how life originated. Natural selection, survival of the fittest, and adaptation by mutation are concepts embraced by the Humanist in support of his worldview. 39
Marxist/Leninism 40
Marxist/Leninism [80] Marxists must believe in evolution because their world view must avoid the existence of a Creator. The Marxist world view is only consistent and coherent without God in the picture. Atheistic materialism is central to Marxist theory. Class struggle, dialectics, is foundational to the Marxist world view. 41
Marxist/Leninism [80] Marxists believe that struggle is necessary to produce change. Therefore the evolutionary notion of survival of the fittest fits nicely into their world view. Whenever there is struggle a sudden jump (progress) will occur. 42
Marxist/Leninism [80] For this reason Marxists prefer the theory of punctuated equilibria, believing that struggle produced sudden change and the fittest survived. 43
Cosmic Humanism 44
Cosmic Humanism [80] Cosmic Humanists embrace evolutionary theory because evolution provides the best mechanism for ushering in a New Age. They reject the standard creationist view since it is opposed to the concept of making a heaven on earth. In their view, man is moving upward to a higher consciousness. 45
Cosmic Humanism [80] Evolution theory provides this upward guarantee. They believe that the ultimate end of the individual is to expand into the universal oneness, which really means that the individual disappears as a separate person. 46
Intelligent Design [104] In the next part of this lesson we will view the DVD, UNLOCKING THE MYSTERY OF LIFE. This DVD is one of the best videos available showing the impossibility of the theory of evolution. This DVD is presented by real scientists and college educators that believe that the world and universe gives evidence of an Intelligent Designer. 47
Intelligent Design [104] It is the intent of this class to show that the theory of evolution is bankrupt, and that the Christian worldview is the most coherent and is seen in the order inherent in the universe, and that there is evidence for an Intelligent Cause (God). 48
