The Healing Power of Chi Guest: Mingtong Gu The purpose of this presentation is to convey information. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, or cure your condition or to be a substitute for advice from your physician or other healthcare professional. Alicia Lynn: All right, welcome, everyone! Alicia Lynn here from AliciaLynnDiaz.com. And I m so excited to welcome you to this very special episode of The Soul of Healing Summit because today we re talking with master Mingtong Gu. And as you know, I felt called to put this summit together to help you harness the power of your mind, emotions, and spirit so that you can learn how to create radical selfhealing in your life. And today Master Gu will be sharing with us the healing power of Chi Master Gu s an internationally recognized teacher and healer who received his training from a variety of Grandmasters in China and at the world s largest Chigong Hospital. This medicineless hospital, the Zhineng Chigong Center, has treated over 200,000 patients with over 185 different illnesses and with a 95 percent improvement rate. So as he was witnessing these profound healing experiences, it inspired his ongoing dedication to the teaching and practice of Wisdom Healing Chigong. And through this practice he also was able to recover from his own chronic conditions of asthma, scoliosis, back pain, and kidney weakness. Just to give you a little more background, Master Mingtong Gu is the founder of The Chi Center and Wisdom Healing Foundation and has taught Chigong to thousands of people throughout the US, China, and Europe. The Chi Center now reaches a global audience through his online programs and is based at the EarthRise at ION s campus in Sonoma County, California. His teachings empower people of all ages with chronic or acute health AliciaLynnDiaz.com (Sacred Uprising, Inc.). All rights reserved. 1

conditions to discover more joy, health, and vitality of mind, body, and heart through a dedicated practice of this Wisdom Healing Chigong. Mingtong s also the author of numerous books, including Empowered Healing. He leads workshops, retreats, online courses, and professional certification programs worldwide. And he was awarded Chigong Master of the Year by the 13 th World Chigong Congress. So you have such a rich experience. And I just want to welcome you, Master Gu. It s such an honor to have you here today. Master Gu: Thank you so much, Alicia. It s such a delight to be with you and sharing with so many of you all together wherever we join us. So thank you for being here. Alicia Lynn: Yeah. I know you were born and raised in China. And you faced a lot of challenges growing up. What eventually inspired you to go down this path of Chigong? Master Gu: Yes, when I reflect back on my own personal life and hear so many stories of people on their life journey, it s really recognizing one common quality, in some way we all are seekers. We all are seekers. So in a way it happens, your life, including challenges. Our life clearly inspires, sometimes forces us to discover something really important, something a little bit hidden, so to speak. So my own journey, I grew up in China in a small village. And I really had a harsh life plus many traumatic experiences, including falling into a toilet. Then I had asthma conditions and a scoliosis condition, as you mentioned, which is really genetic in our family. And I was really growing up as a very weak and unhappy child. And luckily I was kind of determined; somehow I want to be successful. So I studied very hard and ended up the first one who went to college, and even came to the U.S. in 1985 to study mathematics in graduate school. So something drive me forward. So I didn t discover Chigong until when I was in U.S. studying fine arts after mathematics. Then I quickly connected on a very deep level and, you can say, philosophical or spiritual levels. And actually at the time I didn t know, but it was possible to heal my own conditions. This asthma, scoliosis is chronic or is incurable. And I was weak. But I was just going to live with it. So I get into the practice more for spiritual 2016 AliciaLynnDiaz.com (Sacred Uprising, Inc.). All rights reserved. 2

reasons, literally this deeper question, who we are, what are we here for, what is truly making me happy. We are all searching for a different way of trying to be happier, fulfilling ourselves. And at the time it wasn t fulfilling. So this practice allowed me to connect what is possible, especially starting with the mental, spiritual level. So I went to Chigong, China, to study very diligently and was very fortunate. At the time, my teacher had the largest medicineless Chigong Hospital for many, many years. So I was able to stay there for a period of time finishing my master training program. Then, as a byproduct of this process, basically, I was able to heal these conditions. And actually it was not easy because I realized on one hand these very life challenging conditions, but on the other hand you can become comfortable with it. We didn t have another idea of heal them, so when you re getting to the healing of it, then suddenly knowing what the process of healing is, now facing these greater challenges more consciously, more energetically to purify transform. So that s what I want to share with you as much as possible in the session, what the healing process is about. Alicia Lynn: Oh, beautiful. Yeah, I think our audience, including myself, can all relate to what you ve experienced. And it s beautiful with your determination and your deep desire to be able to follow that path. So tell us, what is the process of healing, from your perspective? Master Gu: Right, so when we hear the word Chigong, sometimes it can be threatening, such a Chinese concept, Ayurvedic, such an Indian concept. All these ideas of, oh, east and west. But if we look at into who we are, we are just the embodiment of mind, body, heart, spirit. That s who we are. It s a universal quality we all have. So this process of my journey, I can summarize in two words. And I can share how I discovered that essence, the practice of Chigong. So it boils down to mind come back to this body. So maybe four words, mind come back to the body. That means from separation, the mind separate from the body. The mind is doing its own thing, its own stories, its own concept. It s externally focused in whatever life we engage in, coming back to this body as a home, as a home, as a home. So in that process you discover much more is happening in the body than chemistry, than biology, than symptom, than the story of the body. So then 2016 AliciaLynnDiaz.com (Sacred Uprising, Inc.). All rights reserved. 3

you unfold and go deeper and deeper, what is possible. By having the mind body presence together, working together, then the healing, the purification, transformation, the healing of levels, all levels, can happen. So in my stories, basically, just using the example of scoliosis, I mean asthma condition, as I mentioned, I fell down the toilet when I was four years old. And back then in China, toilet means this huge pit, maybe five feet, four feet deep. So the little boy fell down that to this level. And he couldn t breathe. And actually he lost consciousness for a long time. And eventually he came back to this body, this life. And he lost his memory of it. And I m speaking of myself because it feels like ancient experience, like a past life experience. And then when I was in China doing the intense practice, and often involved with purification, I started coughing mucus out, coughing the detoxification of the disease. But these are symptom level. But deep energetic memory of the trauma is causing these problems, yeah? And so I was coughing out and going slow, probably the final stage of purification, the memory came back to me. Oh, my God. I remember just vividly what had happened when I was four years old. And then I come from the story with my mother. And so then I was reflecting back, actually, not until a few years ago. Then I was realizing, oh, my God, because of this traumatic experience, I am unconsciously consciously choose living a life outside of my body because it was too painful to be inside. It was too traumatic. So I studied mathematics, tried to be successful. Like everybody else, focus our mind outside of us, I tried looking for happiness and fulfillment. And it wasn t successful. So the healing process, it s really learning how to come back to this body, be inside this home again. That was my journey. That was my learning. That is the essence I have been teaching with everyone, basically. Alicia Lynn: Wow, what a powerful story. And thank you for giving us the full context so that we really understand because I really want to invite the audience to consider yourself in Master Gu s story, right? The things that maybe you re aware of or unaware of that have been just repressed in your own body but that there s actually a whole opportunity to return to a greater wholeness through these practices and to create even more ease in your body and in your spirit. So yeah, Master Gu, as a master of this Wisdom Healing 2016 AliciaLynnDiaz.com (Sacred Uprising, Inc.). All rights reserved. 4

Chigong, how does Chigong specifically help the body and spirit? Master Gu: Beautiful. So first of all, Chi means energy, yeah? And gong means practice. So when people ask me, What is Chi my answer is very simple. What is not Chi? Everything is Chi So we re living Chi, but unconsciously, unconscious, okay? We eat food, get more energy. Yeah, but we re doing it not consciously, yeah? We re looking for a fulfilling relationship because there s good energy exchange happening there. Chi change/exchange is happening there. When it s not fulfilling, we know something s wrong with the relationship. So we re unconsciously searching for energy, basically, where energy being all life living on energy. We are thriving on energy. We re searching for energy. The fulfillment of life is based on this energy. So Chigong is literally training us to consciously work with energy, recognizing, oh, this body is made of energy. Oh, this life is made of energy. Oh, all my experience of interaction in this moment we re exchanging so much energy. You having the experience. So the more you re connecting with your own body, the more you re recognizing that energy flow is happening, energy exchange is happening. So by practicing, we re coming back to this body, saying oh, wow, this body is carrying all the history in my life, carrying all accumulative energy. Some are more physically you can experience. Some are more experienced emotionally. Some are more story levels. But it s all energy. It s all energy. So then you re realizing, oh, sometime if you re good, sometime if you re bad. Sometimes I feel a little bit of both. So the deeper understanding of Chigong is basically when you re approaching energy, there are two things happening. Either the energy is contracted, or the energy is flowing, okay? So when we re experiencing stress, experiencing problems, challenges, what happens is energy is contracted. So when the energy is contracted, then, over time, yeah, even if just for five seconds, five minutes, there s no problem. But if continued contracted, especially caused by traumas, caused by extraordinary cases of life, yeah, then that becomes a problem, becomes a main cause of disease. So as stress as a main cause of contracted energy, contracted energy is the main cause of all disease, basically. So when the energy is flowing well in the body, what happens? The brain is able to become 2016 AliciaLynnDiaz.com (Sacred Uprising, Inc.). All rights reserved. 5

okay with the five organ, with every part of the body. So you enjoy physical health. Then the heart naturally opens, and you enjoy emotional health. And the mind also enjoys the creativity and the openness, connectiveness, in the spiritual level. So the spirit is happy. So that is the wellbeing, when the energy s flowing well in all levels, physical, emotional, mental, spiritual dimension. So the opposite is when the energy is contracted. Then we re experiencing disease, disease being the physical level as well emotional level as well mental, even spiritual dimensions. So that is one simple but profound direct way of addressing health, wellbeing, and also cause of disease. So with that understanding, basically, you re approaching your mind, body, heart, spirit as one energy system. So when the energy s open, then health comes back in all these levels. When the energy is chronically contracted, then you re experiencing more disease. So all the practice is focused on the movements, the sounds, the visualizations, meditating, able to not only connect with your subtle energy body but releasing, transforming these blockages, contractions, opening to abundant energy flow again. So that s the simple version and the most direct way of addressing the problem we re facing. Alicia Lynn: So now can this energy flow technique be used no matter what the reason for the constriction, no matter what the trauma? As long as there s an energy constriction, these practices can be used to help soften them and keep the channels open and keep the energy moving? Master Gu: Beautifully said. That s exactly what can happen. Alicia Lynn: Okay. Master Gu: Yeah, so it s a learning process, yeah. The learning process is that we learn, oh, I have this body. Oh, my shoulder is tight. Oh, my back is in pain. But beyond that, Oh, I have more energy. Oh, now I can bring more energy to particular areas. Oh, I can open these blockages. So it really doesn t matter what the past history might be. Could it be environmentally stimulated? Could it be DNA problems, genetic? Could it be food wise caused? Could it be our stress? In most of the cases it s stress, basically, physical, emotional, mental stress causing this energy contraction. So as long as you re connecting with your 2016 AliciaLynnDiaz.com (Sacred Uprising, Inc.). All rights reserved. 6

body, go into the place where you need healing energetically, then you can address all the issues. That s the amazing simplicity. [Inaudible] people thinking how can Chigong heal cancer or heal leukemia, heal Lyme disease? How could it be possible, all different kinds of disease? That s the reason, as I explained. Alicia Lynn: And you have seen some miraculous healings in the hospital that you worked in for a while, haven t you? Are those some of the situations that you saw become resolved? Master Gu: Well some are very dramatic, in a few sessions a tumor dissolved, medically dissolved. You cannot find any trace anymore. But in most of the cases it takes time for practice, yeah? So over time of practice, and especially in the center when I was trained, there are thousands of people practicing together day and night for months at a time. So the energy there is so profoundly just palpable and present. And so everything you do becomes more effective. It s like you start to feel your body buzzing with energy. And so the healing, on the one hand, is gradually happening. But on the other hand, you can feel, every moment, deep changes happening. So it s like a metaphor for reversing the old programming of the body. We need to understand that. It s like the disease doesn t happen overnight. Even when you look at it, people had an injury. What caused the injury? Car accident, it looks like it happened overnight, right? But what caused that injury, yeah? What caused you to get into the car to drive? Oh, that is a whole life, yeah, whole life. So how do people survive one accident differently? Because they re in a different state of mind, a different state of energy. Someone is responding with a severe injury. Another is responding oh, some scratch. So all that is contributing to an ongoing process of life. So it s how the body is programmed energetically. Then, when we re working with disease, [inaudible] addressing the cause of it, so really reversing this conditioning, programming, so to speak. And that can be over time. But the change of symptoms can happen very fast. But more importantly we need to address the cause of healing, the cause of symptoms. 2016 AliciaLynnDiaz.com (Sacred Uprising, Inc.). All rights reserved. 7

Alicia Lynn: Yeah. And I know you have a practice that you d like to share with us. And I d love for our viewers to experience that. I have this question that s very alive for me right now. It might be a little out there. But I feel like if anyone s going to be asked, it s going to be someone like you, who s a master of this energy. But where does the energy come from? Master Gu: I love that kind of question. Energy is the essence of the universe. It s what it is. One way of understanding a deep question is the Chinese words called yu en. The words yu en representing two things, okay. When the conventional interpretation is origin of things, that s the question you re asking, right? But another meaning is not well known. It means the presence of everything, totality of everything, existence of everything. So energy, just pure existence. So the phenomena is continuously transforming from one form to another form, just like anything happening on the earth is a transformation. And yet, boom, the whole energy exists in the universe. It s timeless, as well [inaudible] perceiving the time space. That s both the mystery, as well as the experiential aspect. Alicia Lynn: Yes, thank you. Thank you for going there. And let s pull that into the experiential then. I know you teach the three As for changing and transforming health. Do you want to go over those first, maybe, before going into the practice? Master Gu: Yes, absolutely. I m glad you mentioned that. So when we re working with this body, especially as energy body encompassing the physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, and especially when we re working with challenges, it doesn t have to be health challenges. It could be a challenge in life in general. And we re facing so many challenges. It s all energetic. So how to work with the challenge and energy in your life, that is the practice. And that is the journey. So in this case we devised a simple practice called the Three As. And the first A is literally Acceptance. It s about accepting what are you experiencing internally, this moment, in your own body, your own home, so to speak, how you re responding to other people, how you re experiencing the physical conditioning side of you, how are you responding to the news. This is internal experience, so shifting from external to the internal, shifting from resistance, complaining, this is wrong, this is bad, why me, why this to 2016 AliciaLynnDiaz.com (Sacred Uprising, Inc.). All rights reserved. 8

oh, I m experiencing pain. Oh, I m experiencing difficulty. Oh, I m experiencing fear. So you start recognizing that more mindfully. And so we can ignore it, resisting it. Yeah, it doesn t work. It s still going to be there. It s going to be hiding the stress some way in your body then over time become disease, yeah? So instead of doing that, you go there recognizing the challenges. That s acceptance. Then the second piece is the Activation. So once you go inside of you, recognizing, oh, could it be challenging, but it s more than I can do. Doing the movement, doing the sound, doing the visualization can open this pain, open the contract energy as a cause of this challenge experience I m having so I can tap into more healing, more wellbeing, more happiness, yeah, more creativity as well. So that s the activation. The third is Appreciation. So when you re engaging in yourself energetically, directly, experientially, then, oh, you have a different outlook of life. You re not focused on complaining about something. You re not focused on hopeless anymore. So your appreciation comes from your only engagement with yourself, with life in general. And that is the summary of the three As. So I d like to demonstrate how to incorporate those into more active practice, movement, in this case. So feel free to join me. And you can stand up or sit. So I m going to invite you to raise your arm in front of you to a comfortable position. And pretty soon you re going to experience some tightness, heaviness, even pain. And that s okay. Just simply acknowledge it, notice it. So now we re learning with Chigong is any discomfortable challenge is coming from blockages, blocked energy. When the energy is flowing well in this position, then we re not experiencing pain, discomfort. So we all have stress tension. We all have blockages in the shoulder, in the arm, in the hand. And that s why you re experiencing pain. So now we re going to undo the blockages. So in this case we re going to shift to the left side. So slowly circling to the left side with your own best effort. Now holding this position you may notice pain, discomfort, tightness. So continuously relax instead of complaining, noticing, embracing all sensation feeling inside of you. So accept the internal tension, challenges, discomfort. Now you re gradually letting go, softly circling halfway towards front. Now continually repeat the process with your own best effort, holding the position 2016 AliciaLynnDiaz.com (Sacred Uprising, Inc.). All rights reserved. 9

to the left side. Now notice more you re coming back to this body experience beyond the story, beyond stressful thoughts. You re practicing acceptance and accepting all sensation feeling inside of you. Now gently let go. Now continue circling to the front, circling to the right side. Now hold the position, relaxing your shoulder down, continuously equally noticing all sensation feeling inside of you. Accept your own body. Accept all challenging sensation feeling inside of you. By holding this position and stretching, you re also opening the blockages, releasing the tension. You re activating more energy flow. So gently release softly now, circling towards the front. Now repeat the movement one more time, rotating and stretching, rotating and stretching, holding the position. Now relax. Continue circling to the front. Now notice the new sensation and feeling in spite of pain, discomfort. Notice the subtle, energetic aliveness, energetic vitality. And more importantly, you begin to notice your body connect with your body. Now slowly release your arms downward in front of you. Now notice the new sensation feeling of your own hands. Now move your hands in front of you, just a comfortable position, placing hands palms facing each other. Now notice the energy presence between the hands. You may feel a tingling sensation, a pulsation of energy. The energy is a subtle energy, is invisible. And yet you can feel it. So now open a little bit, a few inches. Then close. You re gathering the solar energy. Open, expanding. Close, gathering. Now notice a new sensation feeling of your palm, your fingers, even your arm, even your entire body. Now slowly place hands on top of your navel, centering, rounding. You can move your body freely right now. So this is a very simple movement you can do anytime but also demonstrating how you can use a principle of the Three As, Acceptance, Activation, Appreciation, especially when experiencing more subtle energy. When your hands are facing each other, you start experiencing this subtle energy you may never recognize before. The energy is invisible as well as visible. At the same time you can feel it, feel it beyond just the physical, five physical boundaries. So the energy is there. So that is the connection with the energy. And continual practice allows you to bring that energy into the brain, bring the energy into the deeper flow of your arms, shoulders, bring the energy deep into the heart, opening the heart, 2016 AliciaLynnDiaz.com (Sacred Uprising, Inc.). All rights reserved. 10

opening all the channels, all the blockages. Then the healing continues to happens. So that s the demonstration of the movement. Alicia Lynn: Beautiful. Yeah, I was practicing when you were going through that. And I had a little tightness in my shoulder from practicing yoga this morning. And it just kind of melted away by the end of that. Master Gu: Wonderful, wonderful. And how are you feeling right now, the arms, shoulder, but even your entire body? What s the sensation of it in general? Alicia Lynn: Just ease. Master Gu: Ease, yeah. Alicia Lynn: There s a softening around all the edges. My skin feels softer. Master Gu: Right, beautiful. And people can have different responses over time as well. But different people can have different responses when they do the same movements. Some people feel some hot, warm, tingly sensation. Some people feel refreshed. Some people feel more relaxed. Some people may feel more energized. So all different experiences can happen. Alicia Lynn: Yeah, I love these energy practices and meditations. They tend to act like an adaptogen, like an herb adaptogen, right? It gives you more energy, or it makes you calm. It depends on what your body needs. So just trusting that as we engage in these energy practices, the energy has intelligence. And so we will get exactly what our body is needing more of for its own healing. Master Gu: Beautiful, yeah. See, the key, again, is connecting with your body, connecting with your energy, and realizing these ancient practices are much more than we think we can do. They re a much more deeper, energetic, experiential dimension than mechanically treating the body as a different entity. That s its amazing gift. Alicia Lynn: Yeah, and I love what you said earlier, how there s so much more going on in your body than just chemistry, right? So yeah, this is all very powerful work. Thank you. So you mentioned something earlier, too, about how when you were experiencing illness, that it was so painful to be in your body that you focused 2016 AliciaLynnDiaz.com (Sacred Uprising, Inc.). All rights reserved. 11

so much of your energy and attention more on your mind and being outside of your body. Can you offer our audience a way to self-reflect? How can we know if we are trying to disassociate from the body? And then can we use this practice? Or do you have any other recommendations in terms of how to come back into the body and why that s so important? Master Gu: Right. So that s a good question. And from my experience, Alicia, I think that is pretty much an epidemic problem. It s literally an overall human problem. When the young child is growing up in the young ages, his mind body is more connected. They re almost like one piece. In the baby stages, the mind has a [inaudible]. The body acted right away, the same way in rhythm [inaudible]. Now when you grow up, then the mind deciding should I do it? What s wrong? What s right, good and bad, and separating from this, separating from this, and then creating separation, basically. So how to undo that is the incredible journey, yeah, from separation to union of mind body. So it s not about a question is the mind body connected. Of course it s connected. But the question is how much do you want to connect? How much do you want to be inside the body? Just like this analogy of the home, it s more than just an analogy. That s your home. But do you want to stay home? Do you want to be homeless, outside most of the time? That s how we live life, basically. So most of us, when we grow up, then become like everybody else because we re not training the way oh, you can t connect with your body. You can t approach health from self-care, self-healing, self-[inaudible]. So we ve been trained to give this body to the doctor, to someone else. We are giving the spirit, the mind, to something else, yeah? So then we re losing the power, losing the connection, basically. So it s a human problem in general. It s not like for people who have a severe illness, then they have that problem. Probably the problem is stronger. The body can tell you. You cannot continue that way anymore. And then you can know it for how many years? 20 or 30 years, 50 years, 80 years? I don t want to continue that anymore, screaming basically. That s what it is indeed trying to tell us. That s becoming quite an opportunity for us to come back to this body to rediscover the wholeness, rediscover the yearning of life again. 2016 AliciaLynnDiaz.com (Sacred Uprising, Inc.). All rights reserved. 12

Alicia Lynn: Yeah, beautiful. I m curious, because a lot of these eastern traditions and eastern practices have a lot of overlap but also a lot of distinction. And I m wondering if you can just distinguish, for our audience, the difference between Chigong and acupuncture and tai chi and some of these other practices just so we understand how to apply them in our life. Master Gu: Yes. So Chigong itself we can trace back into very ancient history, ancient source. It s more like the energy practice, the energy practice which is a foundation for all other branches. So historically, too, acupuncture, Chinese traditional medicine, other different modalities have come out of this Chigong wisdom, energetic wisdom. So the Chigong wisdom is coming from practice, connecting with your own mind-body, then discovering all how the body works, how energy works, how meridian channel works. Then people write down on the paper. People learning from the paper then become professional herb how this herb works. They don t test themselves with their own body, basically. So that s the unfortunate thing. So right now the best acupuncture is the [inaudible] practitioners, yeah? So what we are learning here is anybody can do acupuncture to yourself, become self-practice of acupuncture, chiropractor, massage therapist. You re doing to yourself, yeah? So that s what it is, basically. So it s self-healing, selfempowerment, and self-discovery. And of course you can still use the support of other people s gift as a support system, as help, yeah? And we all need each other for that, to live by each other, to help each other, to hand hold each other for whatever time period. But ultimately we still have to come back to ourselves. So again, to summarize, Chigong is more like a trunk, yeah, of a tree. Then different branches come out. And tai chi is one form of Chigong, historically. Now also I see parallel come out of India, the yoga tradition. You have this big tree. There are also different yoga, a different kind of yoga come out, yeah? Different applications come out. So the deep energetic is what Chigong is focused on, basically. Alicia Lynn: Great. And so do you have any recommendations in terms of how long, how much, how often someone should practice Chigong at home? Master Gu: Yeah, I have to offer my unique view here. 2016 AliciaLynnDiaz.com (Sacred Uprising, Inc.). All rights reserved. 13

Alicia Lynn: Yeah. Master Gu: I m not going to fulfill the audience s desire asking that question. What s the shortcut? What s the minimum time I have to invest so I can get the best results? Okay, I m not going to give you that. Simply put, the more you practice, the more benefit you re going to generate. It s science, okay? Nobody can be exceptional from that. So the more consistent you practice, the more effectively you can generate a benefit yourself. Yeah, if you do sporadically here, there, you re still experiencing a great energy boost. But it isn t really affecting your health in the long term. That s my experience. I can only share what I know, tell you my choice. So luckily the system, including Chigong, we have a very consistent system, can support people, whoever is ready to continue in very consistent, sustainable way. Alicia Lynn: And so you mentioned Chigong, Chi meaning the energy and gong meaning a practice. And I think you usually recommend a minimum of 100 days, right, to start creating a foundation? Master Gu: Yeah, creating consistent. And there s science behind that. 100 days creating a new consistency in your mind, also your body behavior but overall is the energy system shifting from old habit to a new habit. That s what is the science behind it. Health is a habit, basically. Alicia Lynn: That s right, yeah. And like you said, disease didn t happen overnight. It didn t just happen in one day. So it s those micro decisions and the accumulation of the practice. And so this is such a valuable practice that you shared with us today. Thank you so much. Master Gu: You re so welcome, of course. It s always my pleasure. Yeah. Alicia Lynn: Is there any other wisdom you would like to offer our audience or just words of encouragement for wherever they are in their healing journey at this moment? Master Gu: Absolutely. It s like there s more than we can do for our own health, our own wellbeing or our own energetic function like in all levels, mental, physical, emotional, spiritual dimension. By doing so, we re not only affecting health ourselves but also affecting the health of a family, health of a 2016 AliciaLynnDiaz.com (Sacred Uprising, Inc.). All rights reserved. 14

community, and health of the planet Earth. And I m deeply passionate about using health as a stepstone for positive change of life in general, in all levels. And so this kind of energy practice becomes possible. And everybody can do something, starting with now. Engage deeply. The benefit is just so profound both in the personal level, as well as the collective level. Alicia Lynn: Before we wrap up, would you say a little bit more about that? I know in my own experience, when going through pain and illness, it s so easy to feel isolated and stuck and kind of be caught in just what s happening with me. And one of the messages I like to share with my clients and my audience is just that your life mattes. Your contribution to life really truly matters. And so I love that you just brought this up. And I would love to hear a little bit more about that ripple effect that we can have in the world around us. Master Gu: The experiential level, we all know how we can either inspire each other or bring each other down. When you re hearing complaining day and night, what happens? Your energy just kind of goes down to hell. When you re able to bring people up, your energy is also rising up. And that is happening every day. But when we re doing the practice together, it becomes even more dramatic. Just giving an example, we do so much retreat. And people show up with all these problems, severe conditions, life threatening conditions. And so mostly I would say everybody s depressed. So imagine if you put a bunch of people like that in one room for one week. What s going to happen? They will be more depressed. So what will happen is, in the practice of Chigong we focus on what is possible, what is healing, what is more loving, what is more proactive, what is more supportive. Then suddenly in a few days, everybody s energy just shifted, changed. One person s getting better. Another person s getting better. Then the whole group energy is lifting up, like oh, my God, what happened to us? Then all week, it s like all turn back. Oh, my God, that is truly a magical process. But that process is available for everybody. So that is a group energy. At the same time, we re connecting with the invisible energy. It s the individual energy beyond the physical boundary. So in this moment our energies affect each other, Alicia. And our energy is affecting our audience. And the audience listening, its energy s affecting us too. So how we choose to affect each other 2016 AliciaLynnDiaz.com (Sacred Uprising, Inc.). All rights reserved. 15

makes a huge difference. So when we focus on the positivity, focus on loving kindness, focus on high vibration of healing transformation, then that frequency becomes stronger and stronger for everybody. And that energy right now at this moment is affecting my house. The energy is affecting your house, your neighborhood. So speaking of all humanity engaged in that process affecting the planetary energy, that s how we can create change, basically. And then if you go further, it s generational. We re all affected by our old generation or energy. We carry their energy continuously, both the good and bad. So the healing energy we cultivate in the past is continuously affecting us now. So our teachers, the healers before us, the wisdom being before us, are all affecting us continuously, accumulatively. So that s a profound nature of energy we want to consciously cultivate. We call it the Chifield. Alicia Lynn: That s so beautifully broken down and shared. And everyone in the audience, can t you just feel Mingtong s joy?
