REL. ED. 16-17 SCHEDULE Thank You to all the Catechists, Volunteers, Adults, and Families who helped make this year possible. Please take a moment to include these wonderful members of our parish in your prayers of gratitude. Listen carefully to the Spirit s call INITIATION RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION FOR ADULTS (RCIA)...for John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit As we celebrate The Ascension of the Lord, the readings today focus not on sadness or abandonment. Rather, they focus on the promise of the Holy Spirit and the charge that Christians receive to spread the Good News to the ends of the earth. Notice how short the Gospel reading is. Yet, it contains a description of how our lives are when we are not animated more directly by the same Spirit and power that raised Jesus from the dead. They worshipped but they doubted. Listen to the First Reading as yet another summation of the great Easter Season events. Hear in the Second Reading the dawn of a New Age where all is placed beneath His feet. And see that this end to Jesus earthly mission is but the start of our own. If you or someone you know is interested in becoming Catholic and celebrating Baptism, Confirmation and Communion, or if you are from a different denomination and interested in knowing more about being Catholic, please contact Jay Cuasay, Director of Christian Formation at 703-430-0811 ext. 130 or Jay.Cuasay@ctrcc.org. REGISTRATION FOR RE 2017-2018 Stop by the Office during the week 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (closed for lunch 12:30-1:30 p.m.) OR See your RE Director during classes or make an appointment Deadline to Register is August 31, 2017 ($20 late fee for registration taken after).
