Our Church Family The Elders have received and accepted the membership transfer of Mrs. Effie Dykstra from Munster Church, a CRC church in Munster, Indiana. We welcome her into our Faith family. Also, a request to transfer the membership of Lesley Poltrock and her baptized children Brooke and Hutson to Elmhurst CRC was approved. We wish William, Lesley and their children God s blessings in their new church home. Remember to pray for those who are unable to join us in worship. Today we think of Flores Ottenhoff who lives in St. Joseph, MN. Pastor Greg Schuringa is on a study leave this week. He will be working on contributing a chapter to an upcoming book on the Reformation and also, especially, doing sermon planning for the upcoming months. Happy 80+ Birthdays to Betty Klaassens who will be 81 on July 4, George Vos who will celebrate 82 on July 8, Gert Tazelaar (Mrs. Ray) who will turn 85 on July 14, Tracie Herlien who will be 86 on July 15, Eric Johnson and Marcy Laning who celebrate 81 on July 18, Grace Bolt who will be 87 on July 23 and Al Rispens who will be 83 on July 25. Happy 90+ Birthdays to Dena Rooney who will be 92 on July 16 and Flores Ottenhoff who will turn 98 on July 16. Thank you for all the cards and prayers I received after my recent surgery. The comforting words I kept hearing were "Be still and know that I am God, and I am the Lord that healeth thee" as the song based on Psalms 34:10. Although I have 6 more weeks on a restricted diet, I am getting stronger every day, and can't wait to have my favorite foods again! Ruth Kwarta

Diaper Derby s Extension Week Ends Today! The diapers and other items donated will soon be delivered to the distribution point, the Oak Brook Community Church. In the weekly prayer request e-mail I received from CareNet, nine clients are considering an abortion. Their reasons range from: Had one abortion, considering another; I m not ready; my Mother told me to abort; 16 years old & afraid to tell her Dad; undecided but leaning toward abortion; 15 with no adult support; single Mom & a victim of violence; trying to balance work & school & husband out of the country for an indefinite period of time. Please pray for these women that they will save their unborn child and come to know Christ. Listen to my cry for help, my King and my God, for I pray to no one but you. Psalm 5:2. Many thanks for supporting CareNet and the families in crisis! Call me with questions. Kathy De Vries Children s Church has several volunteer opportunities available for leadership and teaching. The only requirement is to be a professing member of Faith CRC. Feeling called to serve? Call Diana De Boer, 630-537- 1298. The Library Committee is looking for a new chair person and a few new library helpers. Please consider this opportunity to help continue this ministry in our church. Thank you to those who served in this ministry for so long. Please contact Bob Wieringa if you are interested.
