Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, When God creates us, He makes us in His image and likeness. He blesses us with intellect: a conscience and the understanding of right and wrong. He also blesses us with free will: the ability to freely choose our thoughts, words, and actions. Like God, we are to use these unique gifts only to create what is good, right, and loving. When faced with choices, we are to choose loving God and loving neighbor over ourselves even when choosing to love God and neighbor require sacrifice. As Saint Peter tells us, God calls us out of darkness into His marvelous light, into His love. In Baptism our sins are washed away and we are recreated by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Through Baptism we become God s beloved sons and daughters, and children of the light. When we sin and fall back into darkness, God mercifully calls us back into His light through the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Jesus, our Merciful Savior, is waiting for us in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. He is always ready to forgive and heal. We do not have to live in darkness. With childlike trust in God s infinite mercy, let us come back into the light by joyfully celebrating God s love and compassion in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Through the Intercession of Our Lady of Fatima, May the Peace of Christ be with You Always, Father Tauber St. Theresa School s Home and School Association Presents LENTEN FISH DINNERS Sponsored by Saylor s & Company Fridays, February 23, March 9 and March 23 4:30 6:30 PM Friendship Hall Menu: Flounder Florentine or Breaded Haddock Macaroni & Cheese with Stewed Tomatoes or French Fries & Coleslaw Drink and Homemade Desserts Adults: $14 / Children: $7 A la carte items: Macaroni & Cheese $5 Bowl of New England Clam Chowder $3 Take out is available. EXPOSITION OF SACRED RELICS: TREASURES OF THE CHURCH The Office of Adult Formation of the Diocese of Allentown presents teaching and an Exposition of Sacred Relics: Treasures of the Church on Monday, March 12, 2018 at 7:00 PM St. Catharine of Siena Church, Reading. Father Carlos Martins of the Companions of the Cross will be there with his very special ministry to teach about these holy objects. He will bring with him over 150 relics, some as old as 2000 years. Among the treasures will be relics of St. Therese of Lisieux (Saint Theresa of the Child Jesus, the Little Flower"), St. Maria Goretti, St. Francis of Assisi, St. Anthony of Padua, St. Thomas Aquinas, and St. Faustina Kowalska. In addition, there will also be present a portion of the veil of Our Lady, as well as one of the largest remaining pieces of the True Cross in the world. Those in attendance will be able to examine and venerate each relic. In the Church s history many miracles and healings have been worked in the presence of relics, and many have been healed through this ministry. Please do not miss this opportunity. You are encouraged to bring your articles of devotion (such as rosaries, holy cards, etc.) and pictures of ill friends or family members which you will be able to touch to the reliquaries as a means of intercession. For any questions email the Office of Adult Formation at adultformation@allentowndiocese.org or call (610) 289-8900, ext. 2021. The Lord never tires of forgiving, it is we who tire of asking for forgiveness. Pope Francis 6 0168
