Rest In Peace Our sincerest sympathies go to the family and friends of Georgiana Brainard and Agnes Boschen. May their souls, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen. The Sanctuary Candle for this week was donated in loving memory of Anthony Capeci The community of believers was of one heart and mind, and no one claimed that any of his possessions was his own. ~ Acts 4:32 All that we are and all that we have is a gift from God! Think of your family, your friends, your talents, your abilities and your money these are all gifts from God! They pondered and learned the secrets of drawing closer to the Heart of Jesus through the Heart of Mary. Congratulations to all who participated in the small groups and those who did the retreat in their homes. THE WORD FROM FATHER JIM This year our diocese is celebrating its 50th anniversary. There will be a 50th Anniversary Mass for the Diocese of St. Petersburg on Saturday, June 16th, at 11AM in the Cathedral of St. Jude the Apostle. In honor of this great event, our parish will pray a Novena to St. Jude, the Patron Saint of our diocese. We will begin the novena next weekend. The novena prayer to St. Jude will appear in the bulletin during the next nine weekends so that we can pray the prayer together as a community before each weekend Mass. This way our novena will end the weekend before the big diocesan Mass. The intention for the novena will be for the spiritual renewal and growth of the Diocese of St. Petersburg. The prayer is as follows: Most holy Apostle, St. Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the Church honors and invokes you universally, as the patron of difficult cases, of things almost despaired of, Pray for me, I am so helpless and alone. Intercede with God for me that He bring visible and speedy help where help is almost despaired of. Come to my assistance in this great need that I may receive the consolation and help of heaven in all my necessities, tribulations, and sufferings, particularly for the spiritual renewal and growth of the Diocese of Saint Petersburg and that I may praise God with you and all the saints forever. I promise, O Blessed St. Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favor granted me by God and to always honor you as my special and powerful patron, and to gratefully encourage devotion to you. Amen May God continue to bless our diocese with an abundance of His Grace and Love. God bless, Fr. Jim Ruhlin WORLD DAY OF PRAYER FOR VOCATIONS The World Day of Prayer for Vocations will be observed on Sunday, April 22nd, also known as Good Shepherd Sunday. Right from the beginning of my ministry in St. Peter s See in Rome, I consider this message [of Divine Mercy] my special task. Providence has assigned it to me in the present situation of man, the Church and the world. It could be said that precisely this situation assigned that message to me as my task before God. ~ Saint John Paull II, November 22, 1981, at the Shrine of Merciful Love in Collevalenza, Italy Monday, April 9, 2018 Ladies' Sodality...
