So Jesus answered and said to him, What do you want Me to do for you? Mark 10:51 JESUS LOVES Copyright a Calvary Curriculum & Matt Baker MARK 10:46-52; LUKE 18:35-43

MARK 10:46-52; LUKE 18:35-43 UNDERSTANDING THE STORY: Jesus was near the city of Jericho. Who else was with Jesus? (Mark 10:46) What is a multitude? Who was sitting by the road? What does it mean to be blind? What was Bartimaeus doing there? What does it mean to beg? Why did Bartimaeus have to beg? Blind Bartimaeus heard that Jesus was passing by. What did Bartimaeus shout to Jesus? What does mercy mean? (Mercy is to feel sorry for somebody and to help them.) When the people told Bartimaeus to be quiet, what did he do? Did Jesus continue walking or did He stop and call for Bartimaeus to come to Him? Think of how excited Bartimaeus must have been when he heard that Jesus was calling for him to come. Bartimaeus threw aside his coat and went to Jesus. What question did Jesus ask Bartimaeus? How did the blind man answer Jesus? Did Jesus heal Bartimaeus eyes so that he could see? Jesus said that his faith had made him well. Did Bartimaeus trust that Jesus could help him? Did Jesus change this man s life? What did Bartimaeus do? (Mark 10:52 Now, instead of sitting by the road begging, Bartimaeus followed Jesus, the One who had changed his life.) SIMPLE TRUTHS: Bartimaeus called out to Jesus because he wanted Jesus to help him. Do we ever need Jesus help? What can we do when we need Jesus to help us with something? Will Jesus hear us when we talk to Him? Does Jesus love us and care about us? Some people tried to stop Bartimaeus from calling out to Jesus, but he would not stop! Should we ever stop praying to Jesus? Should we ever stop asking Jesus to help us? Think about the question that Jesus asked Bartimaeus: What do you want Me to do for you? If Jesus asked you that question, what would you say to Jesus? Do you want to pray and talk to Jesus about that? When we ask Jesus to do something, can we trust Him that He will do what is best and loving for us? When Jesus lived on earth, He often healed people s bodies when they were sick, but the reason that Jesus came to earth was to save and rescue people from sin. Jesus still wants to save people today! If our sins are not forgiven, we cannot go to heaven and be with Jesus after we die. God created us to be with Him. If we believe in Jesus and ask Him to forgive us, will He do that? Does anyone want to pray to Jesus now and to ask Him to forgive you of your sins and to be your Savior? AND REMEMBER... Jesus cares about you very much! Talk to Jesus when you need His help!
