It seems to bring up pictures of warm memories, when life was a little less hectic and families were closer. As we look around at the condition of our world, the wars and tense conditions that just seem to be getting worse and worse, it is easy for all of us to long for the good old days. But the essence of our journey with Christ is that day by day we are being transformed into His image. As we gaze into His face, we begin to think His thoughts and desire what He desires. Our Bridegroom is not looking back, but looking forward with great longing to the end of the age and the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. As that time approaches, we know that conditions on this earth will get worse and worse. As we see that time draw near, Jesus tells us to lift up our eyes, for our redemption draws near. AOF is pleased to invite you on a journey that is designed to help you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. (II Peter 3:12) We are on the mission to see to it that every tribe, tongue, kindred and nation has had a chance to hear the Gospel so that the end may come. (Matt 24:14) We will be returning to Kenya this year to strengthen the work that was begun there 10 years ago, and to reach out and explore partnerships in new areas. We invite you to come and join with us as we partner with others to advance His Kingdom to the ends of the earth. There are a number of different opportunities to choose from for this year s trip. Please read the following information carefully and let the Lord guide you as to which portion of the trip He wants you to participate in. Pay close attention to the deadlines and due dates for the option you choose. OPTION 1: TRIP TO NorthWest KENYA DATES: JULY 19- JULY 28, 2007 PURPOSE: To explore a new partnership with Bethesda Ministries in northwest Kenya. This is an area that still has many Unreached Peoples Groups. While there, we would be providing training in mission mobilization to Kenyan pastors and church leaders. We would also be working with Bishop Macheusi to assist him in providing further training for the missionaries he has already sent out. 1. Prayer Warriors. The primary function these team members would serve is to intercede for both the US and Kenyan ministry teams. They would also be interceding for those who are being ministered to, and for the people groups that the new trainees would be going to. The Prayer Warriors are needed to soften the ground spiritually for the foot soldiers that will be sent out later. 2. Pastors/Teachers. The primary function of these team members will be to train Kenyan pastors, church leaders, and missionaries. We will be using the Mission Mandate Training curriculum primarily, but there would also be opportunities to speak to Kenyan pastors and encourage them to focus on Unreached Peoples and train and send more of their own missionaries. 3. Administrative help. The primary function of these team members is to help with keeping track of expenses and necessary record keeping. You would also be helping with running off handouts, keeping track of teaching materials, and record keeping while on the trip. Your assistance will also be needed in taking notes during planning meetings with Bishop Macheusi. You will be shown how to do this by AOF personnel. P.O. Box 92 31310 ~ P.O. Box 622128 Oviedo, FL 32762

4. Video photographer. We are in need of someone to help us tell our story. So much happens on one of these trips that folks back in the US need to hear about and know about. AOF Missions is a very small organization that is having a major impact in the lives of many people. BACKGROUND: This will be AOF s first partnership with this group. Bishop Macheusi has been recommended to us by Apostle Tim Byler, pastor of Bethesda Church in. Participants in this portion of the trip need to be very flexible, as there will most surely be some kinks to work out, as happens with any new venture. TRIP COSTS: $2750.00 per person IMMEDIATELY apply for passport if you do not already have one. [Application forms may be obtained at the Post Office. You will need two passport size photos which may be obtained at Wal-Mart. It often takes six weeks to eight weeks to receive passports.] February 19th: 100.00 Non-Refundable Application fee [This application Fee covers our costs in setting the trip up for you (mailings, calls to Kenya, and many other logistical necessities.) We incur these expenses even if you decide later not to go. Make appointment with your healthcare provider to receive all shots and malaria prophylaxis March 19th: $2000.00 AIR FARE (PER PERSON APPROX.) [The earlier you secure your ticket, the greater the guarantee you have to lock in at this price. With oil prices rising, we cannot guarantee this price until you have actually paid for it. The longer you wait the more chance that this price may go up. You may pay for your ticket any time before this date, but March 19th is the deadline.] April 19 th : All transportation arrangements to Atlanta for the flight out, and from Atlanta to Orlando for the return flight must be completed. May 19 TH : $50.00 VISA FEES [By this date, your passport, completed visa form and the visa fees must be in the AOF office. AOF will then send all passport and visa fees to the Kenyan embassy. An application for a Kenyan visa will be in the information packet that will be sent to you after we receive your completed application form and fee] June 19th: $600.00 per person or $900 per married couple OPTION 2: TRIP TO Juja, KENYA DATES: JULY 26- AUGUST 4, 2007 PURPOSE: To build on a new relationship started with Bishop Mbugua in 2006. Bishop Mbugua oversees about 200 churches in Kenya and Uganda. While in Juja with him, we would be providing training in mission mobilization to Kenyan pastors and church leaders. We would also be working with Bishop Mbugua to assist him in providing further training for the missionaries he is beginning to send out. You would also be helping with running off handouts, keeping track of teaching materials, and record keeping while on the trip. Your assistance will also be needed in taking notes during planning meetings with Bishop Mbugua. You will be shown how to do this by AOF personnel. 4. Children s workers. The primary function of these team members is to help minister to some of the abandoned and orphaned children that Bishop Mbugua and his church have begun to care for. We would like for you to be prepared to hold and cuddle children, bring toys, clothes, play games and interact with these children. We would also like you to be prepared to do skits or tell Bible stories to the children. 5. Video photographer. We are in need of someone to help us tell our story. So much happens on one of these trips that folks back in the US need to hear about and know about. AOF Missions is a very small organization that is having a major impact in the lives of many people. BACKGROUND: This will be AOF s second time of fellowship with this group. Bishop Mbugua is a friend of Bishop David Perrin and is supported by Church of the Great Commission. Last year when the AOF team was there, we trained over 200 pastors and church leaders. Many of these leaders responded that they were willing to adopt an Unreached People s Group in their own country. This year we will help strengthen that commitment and provide further training for these pastors and leaders. TRIP COSTS: $2750.00 per person IMMEDIATELY apply for passport if you do not already have one. [Application forms may be obtained at the Post Office. You will need two passport size photos which may be obtained at Wal-Mart. It often takes six weeks to eight weeks to receive passports.] February 19th: $100.00 Non-Refundable Application fee [This application Fee covers our costs in setting the trip up for you (mailings, calls to Kenya, and many other logistical necessities.) OPTION 3: TRIP TO Karatina, KENYA DATES: AUGUST 9- AUGUST 20, 2007 PURPOSE: To celebrate the 10 th anniversary of the beginning of AOF s partnership with PEFA and the start of their Outreach Missionaries program. All of the Kenyan missionaries will be brought back off the field, along with several members of each of the churches that have been planted by them among Unreached People s Groups. It will be a time of celebration for the things God has done, and a time of encouragement, exhortation, and fellowship. 2. Administrative help. The primary function of these team members is to help with keeping track of expenses and necessary record keeping. You would also be helping with running off handouts, keeping track of teaching materials, and record keeping while on the trip. Your assistance will also be needed in taking notes during planning meetings with Bishop Kimaro. You will be shown how to do this by AOF personnel. 3. Video photographer. We are in need of someone to help us tell our story. This will be a real high point for AOF, since before 1997, PEFA was not aware of or targeting the Unreached groups in the north of Kenya. We want this story told as an encouragement to others about how ordinary people sold out to our Extraordinary God, can make an impact on nation and His story that will be told in eternity. 4. Missions novices. This would be an excellent trip for those who are new to missions. It will be a time to observe and learn and let God expand your vision and see what He is doing in the earth. Opportunities will be provided to visit some of the missionaries at their stations. 5. Worship leaders. This team would provide music and lead in worship at some of the services. BACKGROUND: In 1997, Dr. Peggy Rayman took a team of American pastors to Kenya to challenge the Kenyan pastors to begin to take the Gospel to the 22 Unreached Peoples Groups in their own country. These are groups who have no reasonable expectation in their lifetime to ever hear the Good News unless someone comes to them from another place to tell them. These are peoples with no churches, no missionaries, and no Scriptures in their own language. The Kenyan pastors responded very well. They had never really considered these groups in their own country, as many of them live in very remote areas. By the next year, 20 Kenyan missionaries were on the field in Kenya working among these Unreached groups. The venture has grown, and today they have 39 on the field. They are poised on the borders of Kenya to advance into Somalia, Ethiopia and Sudan. TRIP COSTS: $2750.00 per person IMMEDIATELY apply for passport if you do not already have one. [Application forms may be obtained at the Post Office. You will need two passport size photos which may be obtained at Wal-Mart. It often takes six weeks to eight weeks to receive passports.] February 19th: $100.00 Non-Refundable Application fee [This application Fee covers our costs in setting the trip up for you (mailings, calls to Kenya, and many other logistical necessities.) We incur these expenses even if you decide later not to go. April 9th is the deadline.] May 9 th : All transportation arrangements to Atlanta for the flight out, and from Atlanta to Orlando for the return flight must be completed. June 9 TH : $50.00 VISA FEES [By this date, your passport, completed visa form and the visa fees must be in the AOF office. AOF will then send all passport and visa fees to the Kenyan embassy. An application for a Kenyan visa will be in the information packet that will be sent to you after we receive your completed application form and fee] July 9th: $600.00 per person or $900 per married couple OPTION 4: TRIP TO Karatina, KENYA DATES: AUGUST 18- AUGUST 27, 2007 PURPOSE: To encourage PEFA pastors to step up to the plate in the support and sending out of their own missionaries. The team will be speaking at several pastors conferences to challenge them to make world-visionary, world-impacting reproducing disciple-makers. 1. Prayer Warriors. The primary function these team members would serve is to intercede for both the US and Kenyan ministry teams. They would also be interceding for those who are being ministered to, and for the Kenyan pastors to accept responsibility for the financial support of their missionaries. This is a relatively new concept among Kenyans, as they generally tend to view the support of missionaries as something that Westerners do. The Prayer Warriors are needed to soften the ground for a spiritual paradigm shift. 2. Pastors/Teachers. The primary function of these team members will be to train Kenyan pastors, church leaders, and missionaries. In some places we might be using the Mission Mandate Training curriculum, but there would also be opportunities to speak to Kenyan pastors and encourage them to focus on Unreached Peoples and train, send and support more of their own missionaries. 3. 4. Video photographer. We are in need of someone to help us tell our story. So much happens on one of these trips that folks back in the US need to hear about and know about. AOF Missions is a very small organization that is having a major impact in the lives of many people. 5. Worship leaders. This team would provide music and lead in worship at some of the services. BACKGROUND: Bishop Kimaro is asking AOF Missions to bring another outreach team to speak to the Kenyan pastors again. Since 1997 he has faithfully shouldered the burden of this work. But as they are ready to advance even further, he needs more involvement from Kenyan as well as American pastors. Many times through the years he has had to give up his own salary in order that the missionaries might be supported. The Kenyan pastors face the same problems we face here in America-the feeling that we have to solve all the problems in our own areas first before we can do anything to help anyone else. Bishop Kimaro wants us to encourage the pastors to give Jesus what He asked for worshippers from every people and in every language. Yet how can they worship Him whom they do not know? And how can they know Him of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear unless someone is sent to tell them? And how can someone be sent unless there is someone to support the sent one? TRIP COSTS AND DEADLINES ARE THE SAME AS FOR OPTION #3 P.O. Box 92 31310 ~ P.O. Box 622128 Oviedo, FL 32762

We would like to invite you to be a part of the Kenya Outreach Team. This letter includes the preliminary details and enough information for you to start getting ready. As soon as we receive your completed trip application form, participation form, and application fee, we will take care of setting up all the other arrangements for you. The only part of the trip you will be responsible for planning will be your travel arrangements in getting from your home to Hartsfield International Airport in Atlanta. You must plan to arrive at the international airport in enough time to catch your connecting flight out of the country. Remember that check-in time for an international flight is at least three hours before scheduled departure. You will also be responsible for arranging your return flight from Hartsfield airport to your home when you return. Please understand that this is a mission trip. It is not a vacation or a leisure trip. You will be working very hard, and the accommodations may not be what you are used to at home. We ask you to accept whatever conditions confront you with grace, good humor and the love of Jesus. Your coming will be such a blessing to those to whom you minister. These brothers and sisters work in extremely difficult conditions and having a visit from Americans does so much to lift their burden and ease their sense of isolation. Just your presence reminds them that God has not forgotten their labor of love, and they are not alone. As soon as we receive your application forms, along with the $100.00/per person application fee, we will send you a more personalized package that will cover your part of the trip. It will include suggested items to take with you, some useful Swahili phrases, general information about the country, suggestions on appropriate attire for both men and women, and some cultural do s and don ts. The costs listed in this letter do not include the following: Passport Immunizations Air or ground fare to Atlanta Souvenirs or personal items The above fees must be received in the AOF office by the stated dates. Checks should be made payable to AOF Missions, Inc. God bless you. We look forward to serving the Lord with you in Kenya this summer. Together for the Kingdom s Advance, Dr. Peggy A.
