SHROVE TUESDAY MISSIONS SHROVE TUESDAY MISSIONS This year for Shrove Tuesday we plan on enjoying our usual Soup and Salad fun and we want to add another blessing to it! We want to include a mission activity. A while ago we had a Thursday Nite Lite activity where we put together kits that we could had out to people standing on the street. People gave out the kits and asked for more. Just before Christmas, I got a call from the District UMW. They had that we gave out kits at Monroe Park and at other times: did we want their hygiene kits? Yes! I responded. So we have 50 hygiene kits from the UMW. These kits include wash cloths and hand towels, soap, tooth brush and paste, shampoo, socks, wipes and soap. On Shrove Tuesday, Nick will lead us once again in a mission activity to put together kits to give out and then we will take them out with us! We will have boxes set up for the next month and collect hand and feet warmers (like from CVS), Gatorade, band aids, large black trash bags, 1 gallon ziplock bags, fingernail clippers, hard candy/cough drops, fingernail files, granola bars, chapstick, and shiny emergency blankets. We will also collect the items from the UMW kits. Our goal is to compile 150 kits the night of the dinner.
