Most of our volunteers are involved every other week with the ability to trade weeks within their team. Please keep this in your prayers. Please contact Julie Vurva at 563-4145, ext. 104 or julievtlc@yahoo.com. Needed to continue quality programming. EDUCATION IS HOPE IN LA ESPERANZA The Becas Program at the UPAVIM women's cooperative awards around 300 scholarships annually. One scholarship covers the cost of a uniform, basic school supplies, and use of the tutoring center. Most students in Guatemala stop their schooling by 6th grade because their parents do not have the financial means. A scholarship provides a life-changing education for students who would not otherwise be able to reach their full potential. Each scholarship is now $54. Please remember to donate to the Quarters can Make a Difference container each time you're in church. Let's see how many lives we can impact this year! And check the bulletin board to se how we're doing so far!! ANOTHER WAY TO HELP Large can tabs from cat food, dog food, soup and other common products are needed. There are not the smaller soda can tabs. Instead these are roughly 1.5" long and nearly 1" wide. Please wash them and save them and put them in the quarter container as well as your quarters. They will be saved and sent to the women to use in crafts. SCHOOL KITS FOR LUTHERAN WORLD RELIEF During the summer months we will be gathering school supplies for the Lutheran World Relief School Kits which will be sent to children in need around the world. Kits can be placed in the blue bin which will be in the education hallway during the summer months.
