Jesus was our Trespass Offering to Restore Everything that Was Lost
Luke 24:44 Then He said to them, These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me. 45 And He opened their understanding, that they might comprehend the Scriptures.
46 Then He said to them, Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, 47 and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
The 5 sacrifices in Leviticus were all pictures of Jesus as our perfect sacrifice on the cross
The Sin and Trespass offering were brought to the priest The priest inspects the lamb, not the sinner When you lay hands on the lamb, all your sins are transferred to the lamb
In the Burnt Offering, the lambs righteousness is transferred to you. Today when you come to God, He doesn t inspect you - He inspects the quality of the lamb - Our Lamb was perfect!
John 1:35 Again, the next day, John stood with two of his disciples. 36 And looking at Jesus as He walked, he said, Behold the Lamb of God!
Revelation 5:12 saying with a loud voice: Worthy is the Lamb who was slain To receive power and riches and wisdom, And strength and honor and glory and blessing!
Leviticus 5:15 If a person commits a trespass, and sins unintentionally in regard to the holy things of the Lord, then he shall bring to the Lord as his trespass offering a ram without blemish from the flocks, with your valuation in shekels of silver according to the shekel of the sanctuary, as a trespass offering.
16 And he shall make restitution for the harm that he has done in regard to the holy thing, and shall add one-fifth to it and give it to the priest. So the priest shall make atonement for him with the ram of the trespass offering, and it shall be forgiven him.
The first part of the Trespass Offering covers sins against the Lord - even sins we aren t aware of - that gives you assurance and rest that all of your sins are forgiven forever
Leviticus 6:1 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: 2 If a person sins and commits a trespass against the Lord by lying to his neighbor about what was delivered to him for safekeeping, or about a pledge, or about a robbery, or if he has extorted from his neighbor, 3 or if he has found what was lost and lies concerning it, and swears falsely in any one of these things that a man may do in which he sins:
4 then it shall be, because he has sinned and is guilty, that he shall restore what he has stolen, or the thing which he has extorted, or what was delivered to him for safekeeping, or the lost thing which he found, 5 or all that about which he has sworn falsely. He shall restore its full value, add one-fifth more to it, and give it to whomever it belongs, on the day of his trespass offering.
6 And he shall bring his trespass offering to the Lord, a ram without blemish from the flock, with your valuation, as a trespass offering, to the priest. 7 So the priest shall make atonement for him before the Lord, and he shall be forgiven for any one of these things that he may have done in which he trespasses.
The second part of the Trespass Offering covers sins against another man We have all been injured by sin, and we have all injured others. Jesus pays back in full and adds 1/5!
Jesus took our place as the injured party, as well as the sin of injuring another man Jesus paid back more than we could ever pay
We Don t have to say, I wish I never did that. Sin consciousness causes continues to rob you. It causes more loss, more pain, depression and health challenges. We can go to God and say, Father, since Jesus was my Trespass Offering, I receive 100% percent restoration in this area, and 1/5 more.
If we have done wrong, the world will say guilty, guilty, guilty The root of a low self-image and lack of blessing is guilt, shame and condemnation. What a joy when we know Jesus is our Trespass Offering. If you were injured in anyway, receive your full restoration and 1/5 more today, in Jesus mighty name!
I Corinthians 11:24 Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me. 25 In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me. 26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord s death till He comes..
