Packing List Modest clothes (see Dress Code) Sleeping bag/sheets, pillow, towel and washcloth Soap, shampoo, toothpaste, etc. Bible and pen One set of old clothes for the Slugde War Extra pair of old, closed-toe shoes Optional Long pants, tennis shoes/boots, long-sleeved shirt, flashlight (for caving) Long pants, extra layers of clothing, lace up shoes (for paintball) Lace up shoes (for ropes activities) 100% cotton clothes (for tie dye) Do not bring Tobacco, firearms/weapons, alcohol General rules Dress Code In order to promote respect for ourselves and for the opposite sex, clear guidelines with regards to dress have been established for summer conferences. Please review these guidelines as you prepare for the conference and pack accordingly. Shirts should touch the waistline of shorts/ pants/skirts and should cover the stomach and back. Furthermore, shorts should not be tight or low cut. There should be no exposure of cleavage or under-garments (this includes boxer shorts). Bathing suits must be modest. Shorts/skirts should be no shorter than fingertip length (When a person is standing up straight with the arms hanging straight down, their fingertips should be touching their shorts/ skirts). Clothing should not display sexually suggestive or offesnsive pictures or words. Modesty is the key! Respect the conference staff s decisions concerning the appropriateness of your attire. Students are expected to attend full scheduled activities. No personal electronics should be used during scheduled activities. Students are not to leave their place of residence after Lights Out! Male and female students are not to be alone with on another (no making purple ). Profanity, hurtful practical jokes, and disrespect of others are prohibited. Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Center Fees Registration for Horizon and Quest is handled through the CEM office. Registration fees cover the cost of the conference, including speakers, activities, etc. All registration payments should be made payable to CEM. This applies to early and late registrations. You can also register and pay online at www.arpcem.com (credit card fees may apply). Note: Payment is required to reserve your place and should be mailed or paid online. On-Site Arrangements are handled through the Bonclarken office. CEM will forward your housing preferences and information to Bonclarken and a Bonclarken representative will call you to make arrangements. All housing and meal payments should be made payable to Bonclarken and are due upon arrival at the event. Note: Private housing participants will still incur a Bonclarken conference center fee. Registration As decided by the Horizon and Quest Planning Committee, we will no longer accept paper registration forms. Please register online at www.arpcem.com. You may either pay your registration fee online or mail in a check to CEM. Before May 16: Registration: $115 X (Participants)= $ Mail total amount to CEM or pay online. T-shirts are included in the cost of registration, but the deadlines for T-shirt orders is May 31. Registration and payment must be completed online or postmarked by May 16 to qualify for early discount. AFTER May 16: Registration: $140 X (Participants)= $ Mail total amount to CEM or pay online. SPEakers HORIzon speaker: James mcmanus James McManus grew up in Sumter, SC. He came to a saving faith in Jesus Christ during his sophomore year in high school, but didn t fully understand what it meant to faithfully live the Christian faith until college. During college, he was active with Reformed University Fellowship (RUF). While in seminary, James served as the Pastoral Intern at Olivet Presbyterian Church in McConnells, SC. After graduating seminary, he was called to be the Associate Pastor of Youth and Families at White Oak ARP in Senoia, GA, where he served for six years. He currently pastors Bethel ARP in Winnsboro, SC. James met his wife, Beth, through RUF at Winthrop. They have three children, Maggie, Hannah, and Patrick. quest speaker: Evan English Evan is no stranger to Quest and we are excited to have him back. He teaches Bible at Westminster Schools in Augusta, GA. Prior to being a teacher, Evan was the pastor of Clover ARP Church in Clover, SC.
