He offers poignant thoughts about what it will be like to transition into the very presence of Christ in Heaven. Redeeming Sex by Debra Hirsch Deb has taken in this beautiful gift of God and woven it together with a Jesus-centered vision of how sexuality can glorify God and lead us to flourish. A much-needed and redemptive book. - Jon Tyson, author, Sacred Roots 40/40 Vision by Peter Greer & Greg Lafferty Midlife There are more years behind us than ahead of us. We wonder whether our lives so far have been worthwhile. We are uncertain about what lies ahead Midlife is also an opportunity to recalibrate our vision. The topics covered include Who is Jesus? Why did Jesus Die? Who Is The Holy Spirit? Why should I read the Bible? The purpose of Alpha is for people who have not yet decided to follow Jesus, who are seeking, or who have questions or doubts... to get answers, to discuss and learn about the core truths of the Christian faith, and what it means to follow Jesus. It is a wonderful opportunity for us to bring our friends, neighbours, school mates, relatives, co-workers, others God has placed in our lives who we are praying will choose to follow Christ. The course is free of charge. Alpha is coordinated by the team of Roger Hobeishe, Fadia Hobeishe, Lesley Furholter, Greg Furholter, Richère Piazza, Chris Piazza, and Peter Neelin. Upcoming Module Faith and Culture Module: How Do We Respond to Our Culture? Studies show that many in our culture feel that people of faith are part of the problem in our world. Religion has been accused of producing conflict and violence. Others see religious belief as intolerant or narrow-minded. But Scripture tells us that God loves his creation and longs for its wellbeing and flourishing. Jesus calls us to be a light on a hill and the salt of the earth. How can we respond to our culture? What has God called us to do and be? Join us as we examine how faith intersects with culture. Bring your questions/ ideas and be ready for fearless discussion!
