We are always looking for new singers. Currently we have three different choirs. We have the Cathedral choir which rehearses on Tuesday evenings at 7 p.m. Our first rehearsal is on Tuesday, September 8th. This choir sings a variety of choral literature and sings every Sunday with the exception of the first Sunday of each month. Another vocal ensemble is the Schola Cantorum. This ensemble rehearses on Sunday s at 10:30 a.m. year round. This choir specializes in Gregorian chant and polyphony. The Schola sings the first Sunday of every month. Both vocal ensembles are open to high school thru adult and are by audition only. Another ensemble that we have at the Cathedral is Children's Schola. They rehearse on Wednesday's at 3:30 p.m. just prior to CREDO classes. They rehearse year round with the exception of the first Wednesday of every month. This is for ages 5 thru age 12. Some older children may be asked to join the adult Schola. The Children's Schola specializes in chant (Latin and English), traditional Catholic hymns. All three ensembles have opportunities to sing for other liturgies (parish and diocesan) throughout the liturgical year. Another area of music ministry is that of cantor. We are always in need of cantors. Cantors are scheduled on the cantor's availability. Cantors must audition. Cantors cant for parish liturgies as well as for diocesan liturgies. If God is calling you to this ministry contact Jody Strnad at 680-0819 or msmusic65@gmail.com. MASS INTENTIONS In recent years, our parish has not been able to accept as many Mass intentions as in earlier years. However, there are other options for you to remember your deceased loved ones through a Mass intention. Many priests in mission areas, would be happy to pray for your intention at Masses they celebrate. The offering/stipend for a Mass is $10. Dear Fr. Joe, I sincerely thank you for accepting to give me accommodation during my internship program at Relevant Radio. You really showed me brotherly love as a priest. I felt like I have been in my own house. Please as a student of Communication in the Pontifical University of Holy Cross Rome, I have some challenges like: buying of books, electronic devices that are necessary for my course, research materials for my thesis in Licentiate and personal up-keep as a priest. I wish to humbly request for your assistance with mass stipends whenever it is available. I sincerely promise to celebrate any mass request given to me with accurate devotion. Thanks so much and be assured of my prayers for you and your lovely parishioners. Kindly keep me in your prayers. Yours in Christ, Fr. Leonard. Fr. SEMINARIAN APPEAL Thank you to those who have participated in the annual Seminarian Collection: Hope for the Future, Help Them Today. Have you made your gift? If so, thank you for your generosity. So far this year our parish has raised $6,017.00. Last year, we raised a total of $10,855.00. There is still time to respond to the great need we have to support our diocesan seminarians. Make your gift today by mailing in your pledge card or visit www.catholicfoundationgb.org/give. Whatever you are able to give is greatly appreciated. YEAR OF CONSECRATED LIFE By your prayer and intercession, you are the advocates of all who seek God, who are journeying towards God. You bear witness to a hope which, against every form of hopelessness, silent or spoken, points to the fidelity and the loving concern of God. Hence you are on the side of those who are crushed by misfortune and cannot break free of their burdens. You bear witness to that Love which gives itself for humanity and thus conquered death. Pope Benedict XVI, with priests, religious and seminarians in Austria, 2007 BLEST ART We want to thank you for allowing us to display olivewood carvings August 8th and 9th. On behalf of the Palestinian Christian families in the Bethlehem area, my family, and my staff, we wish to express our sincere appreciation for your trust. FEATURED LIGHTHOUSE CD Drawing Close: The God Who Desires You David Calavitta has worked in Catholic Youth ministry for the past 13yrs, serving as a youth minister in several parishes, as well as a missionary with NET Ministries. In this heart-felt talk given at a Steubenville Youth Conference, David reflects upon the all-important and fundamental truth that we were created out of love by a God who continually seeks to draw us into a personal relationship with Him.

As we begin a new school year, please bless our children, that their hearts and minds be opened to a world that reflects Your majesty. Bless all teachers and school staff, that their work inspire and motivate the children entrusted to their care.
