Saint Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church We are thankful that you have chosen to spend April 1, 2018, with us, celebrating Easter! Rest In Peace Our sincerest sympathies go to the family and friends of Peter Zeppeiro. May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen. The Sanctuary Candle for this week was donated in loving memory of Joseph Decanio Images of Mary: Doorway to Christ May 14th at either 10:30AM or 7:00PM From the earliest days of the Church, Christians realized that knowing Mary helped them to know Christ and the Church. Join Dr. Alexander Groppe for an hour and a half visual tour of obscure and unique images of the Blessed Mother that help us to discover more about Christ and His bride, the Church. This program features music, moments of reflection, and prayer opportunities. There are two sessions to choose from on Monday, May 14th, either 10:30AM (with lunch provided) or 7:00PM (with light refreshments provided), in room #3 of the parish center. Please call Julie in the office at 868-5276 now to reserve your spot! 33 Days to Morning Glory Think of what is above, not of what is on earth. ~ Colossians 3:2 On this day we thank God for His Son, Jesus, who died and rose for us. We celebrate and sing, Alleluia. Let s try to keep the joy of this Easter season in our hearts throughout the year! Pray daily and listen for how He is calling each of us to joyfully use our gifts to fulfill His salvation plan. No matter what your present or past status in the Catholic Church; No matter what your current family or marital situation; No matter what your past or present religious affiliation; No matter what your personal history, age, background, race, or color; You are invited, welcomed, accepted, and loved here at Saint Michael Parish! Last weekend at all the Masses, fellow parishioners Consecrated themselves to the Blessed Virgin Mary. Over 130 people spent 33 days reading and reflecting on four great Marian giants: St. Louis de Montfort, St. Maximilian Kolbe, St. Teresa of Calcutta and St. John Paul II. They pondered and learned the secrets of drawing closer to the Heart of Jesus through the Heart of Mary. Congratulations to all who participated in the small groups and those who did the retreat in their homes. May you each spend the rest of your lives living out your consecration and thereby growing closer to the Heart of Jesus. For those who missed the small group retreat, if there is enough interest, we will offer it again this summer. If you think you would like to participate, please call the Julie in the parish office at 868-5276 and indicate if you would prefer a morning or evening class. FIRST FRIDAY EUCHARISTIC ADORATION APRIL 6TH Adoration and Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament will begin following the 7:30AM Mass and will continue until the Chaplet of Divine Mercy at 3:30PM, followed by Benediction at 4:00PM. Could you not watch one hour with me?

THE WORD FROM FATHER JIM Alleluia! Jesus Christ is Risen from the dead! Alleluia! Alleluia! This is the Good News. This is the Easter message. It is through the Resurrection of the Lord that the gift of eternal life is made possible. It is through the Resurrection of the Lord that the Kingdom of Heaven is open to humanity. Jesus resurrection puts an end to the effects of sin and death. It is now in Christ that we have life. This is the Good News that we are called to spread throughout the world. We fulfill this task when we live our faith in both word and deed. When we live our faith, we allow others to encounter Christ because our labors of love reflect the glory of our Risen Lord. Remember, Easter is not a single day; rather, it is a 50-day season of celebration. May the love of our Risen Lord shine brightly in your lives and inspire you to live and spread the Good News to all that Jesus Christ is Risen from the dead. I wish each of you a very blessed and happy Easter Season. God bless, Fr. Jim Ruhlin HAVE YOU SEEN OUR NEW FACEBOOK PAGE? CHECK IT OUT AND LIKE US ON Divine Mercy Sunday April 8th 12:00PM... Enter by the narrow gate, since the road that leads to destruction is wide and spacious, and many take it; but it is a narrow gate and a hard road that leads to life, and only a few find it. ~ Matthew 7:13-14 Go to www.facebook.com/stmichaelhudson, or open Facebook and type @stmichaelhudson in the search bar and then click on our picture, or scan the QR code to the right. INVISIBLE MONASTERY The need for priests is always growing. As priests die and retire, not enough men are being ordained to replace them. Members of the "Invisible Monastery" pledge to pray for an increase in vocations daily, weekly or at any time of their choosing. They offer a Holy Hour, Rosary, Private Intention at Mass, or any prayer. If you would like to participate in this much needed ministry, go to www.invisiblemonastery.com, and sign up. Then pray at your leisure! If you can t feed a hundred people, then feed just one. ~ Saint Teresa of Calcutta Saint Vincent De Paul monthly food collection will be held next weekend. Place your donations in the receptacles at the doors of the church. (Remember, the barrels are now out every weekend for your convenience.) Canned meats, tuna fish, peanut butter, canned fruits, jelly, pasta, soups, canned vegetables, and powdered milk are much needed.
