Daniel 2:45, Inasmuch as you saw that a stone was cut out of the mountain without hands and that it crushed the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver and the gold, the great God has made known to the king what will take place in the future; so the dream is true and its interpretation is trustworthy.

Revelation 22:6, And he said to me, These words are faithful and true ; and the Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, sent His angel to show to His bondservants the things which must soon take place.

Of a truth, soon and suddenly shall His will be accomplished, as the Scripture also bears witness, saying, Speedily will He come, and will not tarry; and, The Lord shall suddenly come to His temple, even the Holy One, for whom ye look. 1 Clement

The last times are come upon us. Let us therefore be of a reverent spirit, and fear the long-suffering of God, that it tend not to our condemnation. For let us either stand in awe of the wrath to come, or show regard for the grace which is at present displayed one of two things. Ignatius, Ephesians

And therefore, when in the end the Church shall be suddenly caught up from this, it is said, There shall be tribulation such as has not been since the beginning, neither shall be. Irenaeus, Against Heresies

1. Definition Imminency: the at any moment return of Jesus Christ.

1. Definition Imminency: the at any moment return of Jesus Christ. OED: hanging overhead, constantly ready to befall or overtake one; close at hand in its incidence.

It is certain it will occur, it is uncertain when it will occur. It is not contingent on any other events, and no prophesied event intervenes between the believer and the Rapture.

2. The doctrine of imminency is important to understanding the Pre-Tribulation return of Jesus Christ at the Rapture.

Pre-Trib rib Rapture All Believers RAPTURE CHURCH AGE TRIBULATION MILLENNIUM

3. The purpose of the doctrine of imminency is to keep each believer in a constant state of expectancy, looking, waiting, watching, hoping for the return of Christ that we might be ready, prepared, that we might not be ashamed at His coming (1 John 2:28).

4. Believers are to look for the blessed hope. a. We are to LOOK for the Savior. Heb. 9:28; Titus 2:13 b. We are to WATCH for the Savior. 1 Thess. 5:6; Luke 12:37 c. We are to WAIT for the Savior. 1 Cor. 1:7; 1 Thess. 1:10

Matthew 24:36, But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone. Matthew 24:37, For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah. Matthew 24:38, For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark,

5. No prophecy between the baptism of the Spirit and the Rapture means that the Rapture is imminent. It could occur at any time; no one knows the day or the hour.

6. While the Rapture is imminent, the Second Advent is not. Before the Second Advent occurs, there are many prophecies which must occur, e.g., the Rapture, the Tribulation, the Judgment Seat of Christ, Rev. 6 19.

2 Pet. 3:3, Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts,

John 14:1, Let not your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. John 14:2, In My Father s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. John 14:3, And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.

Rev. 22:12, Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render to every man according to what he has done.

James 5:7, Be patient, therefore, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. Behold, the farmer waits for the precious produce of the soil, being patient about it, until it gets the early and late rains. James 5:8, You too be patient; strengthen your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.

James 5:9, Do not complain, brethren, against one another, that you yourselves may not be judged; behold, the Judge is standing right at the door.

Titus 2:13, looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus;

Phil. 4:5, Let your forbearing spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near.

No one can expect Christ s coming to be delayed, we must be prepared each day. No date can be set. No prophecy needs to be fulfilled before the Rapture can take place.

Revelation 22:7, And behold, I am coming quickly. Blessed is he who heeds the words of the prophecy of this book. [LJC]

Revelation 1:3, Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy, and heed the things which are written in it; for the time is near.

Revelation 14:13, And I heard a voice from heaven, saying, Write, Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on! Yes, says the Spirit, so that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow with them. [voice from heaven]

Revelation 16:15, ( Behold, I am coming like a thief. Blessed is the one who stays awake and keeps his clothes, so that he will not walk about naked and men will not see his shame. ) [LJC]

1 Th. 5:2, For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. 1 Th. 5:3, For when they say, Peace and safety! then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. 1 Th. 5:4, But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. 1 Th. 5:5, You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. 1 Th. 5:6, Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober.

Revelation 19:9, Then he said to me, Write, Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he said to me, These are true words of God. [angel]

Revelation 20:6, Blessed and holy is the one who has a part in the first resurrection; over these the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with Him for a thousand years. [John]

Revelation 22:7, And behold, I am coming quickly. Blessed is he who heeds the words of the prophecy of this book. [LJC]

Revelation 22:14, Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.

Revelation 22:8, I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I heard and saw, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who showed me these things.

Rev. 19:10, Then I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, Do not do that; I am a fellow servant of yours and your brethren who hold the testimony of Jesus; worship God. For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

Revelation 22:9, But he said to me, Do not do that. I am a fellow servant of yours and of your brethren the prophets and of those who heed the words of this book. Worship God.

Revelation 4:11, Worthy are You, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and because of Your will they existed, and were created.

Revelation 22:10, And he said to me, Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is near.

Daniel 12:4, But as for you, Daniel, conceal these words and seal up the book until the end of time; many will go back and forth, and knowledge will increase.

Daniel 12:4, At that time, the great prince, Michael, who stands beside the sons of your people, will appear. It will be a time of trouble, the like of which has never been since the nation came into being. At that time, your people will be rescued, all who are found inscribed in the book.
