Worship & Communion Service Mr. Johnny Dumas, Worship Leader The Organ Prelude Ms. Florine Herron The Processional All Hail the Power of Jesus Name Perronet/Ellor Diadem 1. All hail the power of Jesus' name! Let angels prostrate fall, Let angels prostrate fall; Bring forth the royal diadem, and crown Him, crown Him, crown Him, crown Him, and crown Him Lord of all. 2. Ye chosen seed of Israel's race, Ye ransomed from the fall, Ye ransomed from the fall, Hail Him who saves you by His grace, and crown Him, crown Him, crown Him, crown Him, and crown Him Lord of all. 3. Let every kindred, every tribe On this terrestrial ball, On this terrestrial ball, To Him all majesty ascribe, and crown Him, crown Him, crown Him, crown Him, and crown Him Lord of all. 4. O that with yonder sacred throng We at His feet may fall, We at His feet may fall! We'll join the everlasting song, and crown Him, crown Him, crown Him, crown Him, and crown Him Lord of all. The Doxology Praise God, from Whom all blessings flow; Praise Him, all creatures here below; Praise Him above, ye heavenly host; Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. The Call to Worship Ms. Anita Rucker I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of The LORD, our feet shall stand within Thy gates, O Jerusalem. For a day in Thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my GOD than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. Because of the house of the LORD our GOD I will seek Thy good. Those that be planted in the house of the LORD, shall flourish in the courts of our GOD. Blessed are they that dwell in Thy house. LORD, I have loved Thy habitation, the place where Thy honor dwelleth. For the LORD is in His Holy Temple, let all the earth keep silence before Him. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Thy sight, O LORD, my strength and my Redeemer. O sing unto the LORD a new song, for He has done marvelous things. Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth sing praises.

The Hymn of Praise #582 1. Laymen now have thus assembled In Thy blessed name O God. Guide us in our true endeavor, Light the pathway that we trod; Give us strength to ever labor for Thy cause, Give us strength to ever labor for Thy cause. 3. As we walk this Christian journey, Let us keep our armor bright, Let our works be pure and holy, That we stand within Thy sight; Laymen soldiers, strong in unity and love, Laymen soldiers, strong in unity and love. The Invocation The Lay Hymn 2. We are banded one in union, To fulfill Thy just command. May we be Thy true disciples, Holding to Thy mighty hand. Give us blessings from the fountain of Thy love Give us blessings from the fountain of Thy love 4. May we stand before Thine altar. Pledging Lord to work for Thee. In the vineyard, in the pastures, Let us Lord Thy pilgrims be; Let us lift the cross forever to the skies, Let us lift the cross forever to the skies. Mr. Eddie Pitts The Choral Response Pass Me Not O Gentle Savior Crosby Thou the spring of all my comfort, More than life to me, Whom have I on earth beside Thee, Whom in Heav n but Thee. Savior, Savior, Hear my humble cry, While on others Thou art calling, Do not pass me by. The Selection The Scriptures The Old Testament The New Testament The Gospel St. Paul A.M.E. Church Choir Ms. Frances Smith Ms. Stephanie Brooks Ms. Theresa Travis The Preface to the Decalogue From all that dwell below the skies, Let the Creator s praise arise; Let the Redeemer s name be sung, through every land by every tongue. The Decalogue Mr. Roy L. Johnson Hear the commandments of God to His people. I am the Lord your God who brought you out of bondage. You shall have no other gods but Me. You shall not make for yourself any idol. You shall not invoke with malice the Name of the Lord your God. Remember the Sabbath Day and keep it holy.

Honor your father and your mother. You shall not commit murder. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not steal. You shall not be a false witness. You shall not covet anything that belongs to your neighbor. The Gloria Patri Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen, Amen. The Selection St. Paul A.M.E. Church Choir The Benevolent Offering Finance Committee The Offertory All Things Come of Thee, O Lord Beethoven All things come of Thee, O Lord; and of Thine own have we given Thee. Amen. The Presentation of the Preacher Mr. Melvin Davis The Sermonic Hymn I m Pressing On The Upward Way Oatman, Jr. I m pressing on the upward way; New heights I m gaining every day Still praying as I onward bound; Lord, plant my feet on higher ground. Refrain Lord, lift me up and let me stand; By faith, on Heaven s tableland, A higher plane than I have found; Lord, plant my feet on higher ground. My heart has no, desire to stay; Where doubts arise and fears dismay Though some may dwell, where those abound; My prayer, my aim, is higher ground. I want to live, above the world; Though Satan s darts, at me are hurled For faith has caught, the joyful sound; The song of saints on higher ground. I want to scale, the utmost height; And catch a gleam, of glory bright But still I ll pray, till Heav n I ve found; Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.

The Sermon The Invitation to Discipleship Reverend Dr. Moses A. Simms, Jr. Candidate for Bishop, 2016 Pastor, Turner Chapel A.M.E. Church, Greensburg, LA Rev. Keith J. Sanders The Affirmation of Faith I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of Heaven and Earth, and in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead; and buried. The third day he arose from the dead He ascended into heaven and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Church Universal, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting. Amen. The Worship Through Giving Finance Committee The Offertory All Things Come of Thee, O Lord Beethoven All things come of Thee, O Lord; and of Thine own have we given Thee. Amen. The Remarks The Announcements Mr. William M. Brown The Communion Hymn There is A Fountain Cowper There is a fountain filled with blood drawn from Emmanuel s veins; And sinners plunged beneath that flood lose all their guilty stains. Lose all their guilty stains, lose all their guilty stains; And sinners plunged beneath that flood lose all their guilty stains The dying thief rejoiced to see that fountain in his day; And there have I, though vile as he, washed all my sins away. Washed all my sins away, washed all my sins away; And there have I, though vile as he, washed all my sins away. Dear dying Lamb, Thy precious blood, shall never lose its power Till all the ransomed church of God, be saved to sin no more. Be saved, to sin no more, be saved, to sin no more; Till all the ransomed church of God, be saved, to sin no more. Then in a nobler, sweeter song, I ll sing Thy power to save, When this poor lisping, stammering tongue lies silent in the grave. Lies silent in the grave, lies silent in the grave; When this poor lisping, stammering tongue lies silent in the grave.

The Sacrament of Holy Communion Bishop Julius H. McAllister, Sr. Presiding Elders & Pastors The Solicitation You that do truly and earnestly repent of your sins, and are in love and charity with your neighbor, and intend to lead a new life, following the commandments of God, and walking from henceforth in His Holy ways, draw near with faith and take this Holy Sacrament to your comfort; and make your humble confession to Almighty God, meekly kneeling. The General Confession Almighty God, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Maker of all things, Judge of all men, we acknowledge and bewail our manifold sins and wickedness which we from time to time most grievously have committed by thought, word, and deed against Your divine Majesty, provoking most justly Your wrath and indignation against us. We do earnestly repent and are heartily sorry for these our misdoings; the remembrance of them is grievous unto us. Have mercy upon us, have mercy upon us, most merciful Father for Your Son our Lord Jesus Christ s sake; forgive us all that is past, and grant that we may ever hereafter serve and please You in newness of life, to the honor and glory of Your name, through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen. The First Collect Almighty God, our Heavenly Father, who of Your great mercy has promised forgiveness of sins to all them that with hearty repentance and true faith turn unto You, have mercy upon us; pardon and deliver us from all our sins; confirm and strengthen us in all goodness; and bring us to everlasting life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. The Second Collect Almighty God, unto whom all hearts are open, all desires known, and from whom no secrets are hid, cleanse the thoughts of our hearts by the inspiration of Your Holy Spirit, that we may perfectly love You, and worthily magnify Your holy name, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. The Prayer of Adoration It is very meet, right, and our bounden duty that we shall at all times, and in all places give thanks unto You, O Lord, Holy Father, Almighty, Everlasting God. Therefore, with angles and archangels, and with all the company of heaven, we laud and magnify Your Holy Name, evermore praising you and saying, Holy, Holy, Holy Lord God of hosts; heaven and earth are full of your glory. Glory be to You, O Lord, most High. Amen.

The Prayer of Humiliation We do not presume to come to this Your table, O merciful Lord, trusting in our own righteousness, but in your manifold and great mercies. We are not worthy so much as to gather the crumbs under Your table. But You are the same Lord whose property is always to have mercy. Grant us, therefore, gracious Lord, so to eat the flesh of Your dear Son Jesus Christ, and to drink His blood that our sinful souls and bodies may be made clean by His death and washed through His blood, and that we may ever more dwell in Him and He in us. Amen. The Prayer of Consecration Almighty God, our Heavenly Father, who of Your tender mercy did give Your only Son Jesus Christ, to suffer death on the cross for our redemption, who made thereby His oblation of Himself, once offered, a full, perfect and sufficient sacrifice, oblation, and satisfaction for the sins of the whole world; and did institute and in His Holy gospel command us to continue a perpetual memory of that His precious death until His coming again; hear us, O merciful Father, we most humbly beseech You, and grant that we, receiving these Your creatures of bread and wine, according to Your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ s Holy institution, in remembrance of His death and passion, may be partakers of His most blessed body and blood; Who in the same night that He was betrayed took bread; and when He had given thanks, He broke it, and gave it to His disciples saying; Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you. This do in remembrance of Me. Likewise after supper He took the cup and when He had given thanks He gave it to them saying, Drink all of it, for this is My blood of the New Testament, which is shed for you and for many for the remission of sins; do this, as often as you shall drink it, in remembrance of Me. Amen. The Sharing of the Elements The body of our Lord Jesus Christ, which was given for you, to preserve your soul and body unto everlasting life. Take and eat this in remembrance that Christ died for you, and feed on Him in your heart by faith with thanksgiving. The blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, which was shed for you to preserve your soul and body until everlasting life. Drink this in remembrance that Christ s blood was shed for you and be thankful. The Lord s Prayer Our Father who art in heaven hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for Thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory for ever and ever. Amen.

The Prayer of Thanksgiving O Lord, our heavenly father, we your humble servants, desire Your fatherly goodness mercifully to accept this our sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving; most humbly beseeching You to grant that by the merits and death of Your Son, Jesus Christ, and through faith in His blood, we and your whole church may obtain remission of our sins and all other benefits of His passion. And here we offer and present unto You, O Lord, ourselves, our souls and bodies, to be a reasonable, holy, and living sacrifice unto You; humbly beseeching You that all we who are partakers of this Holy Communion may be filled with Your grace and heavenly benediction. And although we be unworthy, through our manifold sins, to offer unto You any sacrifice, yet we beseech You to accept this our bounden duty and service; not weighing our merits, but pardoning our offenses, through Christ our Lord; by whom and with whom in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all honor and glory be unto You, O Father Almighty, world without end. Amen. The Hymn of Fellowship The Doxology The Benediction Praise God from whom all blessing flow, Praise Him all creatures here below; Praise Him above ye heavenly host, Praise Father Son and Holy Ghost. Reverend Dr. Moses A. Simms, Jr.
