Romans the gospel of salvation 1. Why God is Angry with the Wicked
Blessed is he w hose transgression is forgiven, w hose sin is covered. Blessed is the man unto w hom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in w hose spirit there is no guile (Psalm 32:1,2) Behold, I w as shapen in iniquity ; and in sin did my mother conceive me (Psalm 51:5)
God s Righteous Anger Lasts only for a moment (Psalm 30:5) Passes Quickly (Isaiah 26:20; 54:7-8; 57:16-19) Comes w ith Mercy and Compassion (Psalm 100:5; 6:1; 107:1; 118:1-4; 136:1-26)
God s Righteous Anger Indicates His Hatred of Sin Is Calculated to encourage us to stop Sinning Should make us more appreciative of God s Holiness Has not been cancelled out by Christ s death Should bring us to Pray er!
Romans 2:17 3:21,29 For Jew Or Gentile? 4:9-11 10:11 15:7
Making request, if by any means now at length I might have a prosperous journey by the w ill of God to come unto y ou. For I long to see y ou, that I may impart unto y ou some spiritual gift, to the end y e may be established; that is, that I may be comforted together w ith y ou by the mutual faith both of y ou and me. Now I w ould not have y ou ignorant, brethren, that oftentimes I purposed to come unto y ou, (but w as let hitherto,) that I might have some fruit among y ou also, even as among other Gentiles (Romans 1:10-13)
Salvation is available by Faith
Salvation This Epistle is really the chief part of the New Testament and the very purest Gospel, and is w orthy not only that every Christian should know it w ord for w ord, by heart, but occupy himself w ith it every day, as the daily bread of the soul. It can never be read or pondered too much, and the more it is dealt w ith the more precious it becomes, and the better it tastes
I m hoping to come and see y ou shortly but, before I do, I thought I w ould tell y ou w hat I believe about Salvation and the things I believe
Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God, (w hich he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,) concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, w hich w as made of the seed of David according to the flesh; and declared to be the Son of God w ith pow er, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead (Romans 1:1-4)
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the pow er of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith (Romans 1:16,17)
Psalm 7:9-11; 19:9; 119:7; 145:17 Jeremiah 12:1 John 17:25 Revelation 16:5
The LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that w ill by no means clear the guilty ; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth generation (Exodus 34:6,7)
Genesis 18:25 Psalm 24:5; 40:10; 78:1-2 Isaiah 46:13; 51:5-6; 54:17; 61:10; 62:1 Judges 5:11
I w ill greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joy ful in my God; for he hath clothed me w ith the garments of salvation, he hath covered me w ith the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself w ith ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself w ith her jew els. For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sow n in it to spring forth; so the Lord GOD w ill cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations (Isaiah 61:10,11)
Isaiah 44:15 Psalm 115:8 Colossians 3:5 Romans 1:21-23
Professing themselves to be w ise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things (1:22,23)
Professing themselves to be w ise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their ow n hearts, to dishonour their ow n bodies betw een themselves (1:22-24) For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their w omen did change the natural use into that w hich is against nature (1:26) And even as they did not like to retain God in their know ledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things w hich are not convenient (1:28)

LAW Romans the gospel of Salvation wrong right
The Adam Law of Christ Moses
Paul, in Romans 2:15, is labouring to check the presumption of the Jews who were claiming pre-eminence in the congregation at Rome, because of their superior knowledge of the law of Moses, by showing their pretensions vain because they had not kept the law; whereas the Gentiles in the Church, who never were under the law of Moses, showed that the w ork of the law w as w ritten in their hearts by the w ord of the truth of the gospel by faith, and therefore they kept the righteousness of the law; and by so doing they proved that they were the true circumcision, all of which is clearly and beautifully argued out to the close of the chapter (Elpis Israel: Preface to 4 th Edition John Thomas)
Spiritual Circumcision
Both Jew and Gentile Psalm 14:1-3; 53:1-3 Psalm 5:9 Psalm 140:3 Psalm 10:7 Proverbs 1:16 Isaiah 59:7-8 Psalm 36:1
Now w e know that w hat things soever the law saith, it saith to them w ho are under the law : that every mouth may be stopped, and all the w orld may become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the know ledge of sin (3:19-20)
