If you prefer to wait longer before you are assessed or need to retake, these practical assessments can be taken/retaken as appropriate. Reading List If you are applying for this course please start reading the pre- requisite books on the reading list, which is at the bottom of this document (see below).

Assignments You will need to prepare written assignments and presentations to help you broaden the learning experience whilst on the Certificate Teacher Training Course. Examples of Assessments: Anatomy & Physiology Essay Write a brief description of an area of the body (e.g. pelvis) listing the main bones & muscles and their function; or outline a body system (e.g. lymph, nervous, circulatory). Describe how a chosen asana affects this area/system. Give a 10 min presentation on this area/system. The Yoga Sutras Prepare one sutra to present in detail from chapter 1 or chapter 2, or choose a common theme from the sutras. Each student should present a different sutra/ theme. To apply please complete the application form which is available to download from our website. - Please return your form via email to training@bristolcityyoga.co.uk or post to us at Bristol City Yoga, 16 Backfields Lane, Bristol BS2 8QW by 15th December 2016 An application fee of 20 is payable- we will email details of how to pay when we receive your application. We also advise that you come to one of Laura Gilmore's workshops or classes - particularly if you have not done so regularly before. This will give you a chance to see whether you feel Laura s teaching is for you. Please come along after she has seen your application and let her know that you will be attending. It is best to check with the studio before booking the class to make sure she is definitely teaching that day.

We are not looking for the strongest / bendiest people, so don t be afraid to apply if you are genuinely interested in sharing yoga teachings. Eligibility Applicants must have been practising yoga consistently for at least 2 years. Ideally this will be regularly attending classes (at least once each week), plus a home practice. Generally the longer a student practices yoga before undertaking their teacher training, the easier it is to transition to teaching, so do take your time before applying!
