Jesus Prays in Gethsemane 38 Then he said to them, My soul is very sorrowful, even to death; remain here, and watch with me. 39 And going a little farther he fell on his face and prayed, saying, My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will. 40 And he came to the disciples and found them sleeping. Praise For His Name Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name give glory, for the sake of your steadfast love and your faithfulness! (Psalm 115:1) For His Righteousness Then my tongue shall tell of your righteousness and of your praise all the day long. (Psalm 35:28) For His Work Praise him for his mighty deeds; praise him according to his excellent greatness! Waiting
Waiting After praising the Lord, bring your mind and spirit to a time of Be still, and know that I am God (Psalm 46:10) complete silence to the world. Think nothing except thoughts of God the Father, His Son, or the Spirit. Concentrate full attention on the love aspect of God s nature in these minutes of silence.
Confession

Scripture Praying Read through a portion of Scripture such as in the Psalms, Proverbs, Is not my word like fire, declares the LORD, and like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces? (Jeremiah 23:29) Gospels, or Epistles As universal principles (timeless biblical truth) comes to mind, pray throughout your reading. Example: The Lord is my shepherd (Ps 23) Thank you Lord for your guidance and provision in my life!
Watching
Watching Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving. (Colossians 4:2) Consider how sin and spiritual warfare have hindered your walk recently. Consider the spiritual climate both locally and abroad and pray accordingly
Intercession
Intercession First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. (1 Tim 2:1-2) Pray for those in the church who are healing or sick. lost individuals to be saved more laborers for the harvest, open doors, and provision for needs our missionaries
Petition
Petition Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. (Matthew 7:7) Ask the Holy Spirit to discern only desires that will honor the Lord. Examine your motives that they are pure before the Lord.
Thanksgiving

Singing
Singing be filled with the Spirit, addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and Jesus I Come by Elevation Worship making melody to the Lord with your heart, (Ephesians 5:18-19)
Meditation
Meditation This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. (Joshua 1:8) So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. (Philippians 2:1-4)
Listening
Listening Be not rash with your mouth, nor let your heart be hasty to utter a word before God, for God is in heaven and you are on earth. Therefore let your words be few. (Ecclesiastes 5:2) While listening, ask God specific questions? Ask for the Lord s guidance regarding circumstances and details at hand. The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man listens to advice. Study the Scriptures for clear guiding principles (Proverbs 12:15)
Praise
Praise End prayer time with specific prayer of his greatness. Focus on Omnipotence (all powerful), Great is the LORD and greatly to be praised (Psalm 48:1) Omniscience (all knowing), and Omnipresence (all present). Praise God for hearing our prayer and communing with us Emphasize our certainty in God Amen (it is true) and praise for Him Hallelujah (praise Yahweh)
