Festival of Lessons & Carols Sunday, December 11 10:30 a.m. in the Sanctuary Prelude begins at 10:15 a.m. The Lessons and Carols Service is a time-honored English tradition, with a format that recounts the expectation and birth of Jesus through Bible readings, congregational carols and special music of the Advent and Christmas Season. The prelude features church organist Robert Day and the professional Starkweather Brass Quintet. This is followed by a dramatic processional of eight choirs singing the ancient carol On This Day, Earth Shall Ring. The service will conclude with nearly 95 singers, brass, organ and congregation sharing in a jazzy arrangement of Go Tell It on the Mountain.
