December 11, 2015 Your Lottie Moon Offering Gifts Support Missionaries in Many Ways Several years ago Micah and Tracy Fries were Southern Baptist missionaries serving in a remote area of Africa. Your Lottie Moon gifts sent them. Your gifts paid their rent, purchased their food, and supplied materials that they used in proclaiming Christ. Over time, Micah got sick. His fevers were high; his energy was low. He wasn t getting better. After a few weeks, he made the long trip to the nearest large city to see a doctor. He learned that he had a very severe strain of malaria that was normally lethal within days of contraction. He was immediately hospitalized and received an expensive treatment over a period of weeks. He recovered and was able to return to work. Your Lottie Moon gifts paid for Micah s hospitalization and care. Giving all the credit to God, Micah says that he owes his life to Southern Baptists who gave through the Lottie Moon offering so that he could receive the care he needed. Should any Christmas gift be a higher priority for you this year than your Lottie Moon Offering gift? Maybe you can give a large amount this year. One leader suggests giving one dollar for each of the world s 6,000 unreached people groups or a dollar for each of the world s 3,000 unengaged people groups. Another option might be to give an amount equivalent to all your other Christmas gifts combined. Maybe a small gift would be very large for you this year. If so, give it joyfully! With your several dollars, ten dollars, fifty or one hundred dollars you ll be helping in a great collective effort. You ll be supporting our missionaries in many ways. Pastor Coye Still
