Confirmation Candidate Sponsor Shared Activities: First Year Candidates Confirmation Candidates and their sponsors are required to do (three) faith-sharing activities together, so that they may have an opportunity to discuss something about our Catholic Faith together. Sometimes we may not always have a chance to discuss our faith and our beliefs with people even the ones that we feel close to. These activities are geared to help you do that. This is one of the three faith sharing projects that Sponsors are asked to do with the Confirmation candidate for year One. Step #1 (Sponsor Portion): Each sponsor is asked to write a letter to the Confirmation candidate that gives them some helpful advice or suggestions about choosing & staying on the right path as they enter their teen years. Please include some guidance on how God can be relied on in these often difficult times. How has faith played a role in your own life in making decisions or dealing with life s challenges? Step #2 (Confirmation Candidate Portion): Candidates upon receiving a letter from their sponsor should make a small poster or collage on a piece of 8.5 X 11 card stock. This poster should reflect the advice that the sponsor gave to you in the letter that they wrote to you. This should be done using words and pictures. The pictures may be hand drawn or cut from magazines. This exercise is intended only to get you to truly think about the advice that your sponsor gave to you. By attempting to use art or words to reflect the advice, it may help you to remember it and take the advice to heart. Please turn in a copy of the letter with the poster to your Confirmation teacher.

Sponsor & Candidate Joint Activities First Year Candidates and sponsors must complete each of the following activities. 1. Attend Sunday Mass together. After Mass, introduce your sponsor to the Priest that said Mass. Complete worksheet #1 together and return it to your Confirmation teacher. 2. Participate in one community service activity together. Complete worksheet #2 together and return that to your Confirmation teacher.

Sponsor & Candidate Joint Activity Second Year Candidates and sponsors must complete each of the following activities: 1. Attend Sunday mass together. After Mass, introduce your sponsor to the Priest that said Mass. Complete worksheet #1 together and return it to your Confirmation teacher. 2. Visit http://bustedhalo.com/category/sacraments101. These are SHORT - easy to understand little film clips on the sacraments. The Sponsor and Candidate should watch the 3 short films on Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation and each should complete Worksheet #3 which will draw from specific things that you viewed in each film. 3. Both the Confirmation Candidate and Sponsor visit: http://www.catholicscomehome.org/. Complete worksheet #4 - which will draw on the material you viewed.
