YOU NEED TO KNOW BECOMING A DISCIPLE THROUGH THE DOCTRINES OF GOD KNOWING WHAT YOU BELIEVE AND WHY YOU BELIEVE IT MEDIA REFERENCE NUMBER SMX-872 JULY 05, 2015 THE TITLE OF THE MESSAGE: All About Living Out Your Faith Knowing what you believe and why you believe it. Part 6 SUBJECT TOPICALLY REFERENCED UNDER: Endurance, Millennium, Maturity, Pursuit of God, Waiting Introduction to the Doctrine of Eschatology (future) The Rule and Throne of The Son of David, Jesus Christ And His Millennial Government 1 Corinthians 15:24 Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power. As Christians, we need to make sure that we accurately apply the doctrines of the Bible to every day life. With us The End, and Death, and Life are not what they mean to other people, because, for example, when we talk about the end we do not mean the end of life or of our existence. What we mean by The End is that we are saying of this world, this life, this age. It s When Jesus Christ delivers the kingdom to God the Father. It s when He puts an end to all human rule, all human authority, and all human power. In Fact: Several Wednesday nights ago, I mentioned that when we look at The Model Prayer given to us by Jesus Himself (by the way, it s His word to us as to how we structure our prayer, not the recitation of it, as a prayer, but the framing of our prayers) the Bible says this Luke 11:1-2a Now it came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, that one of His disciples said to Him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples. :2 So He said to them, When you pray, say: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. 1
- Millennium 1.) The Jesus of the Bible Physically returns to earth 1a.) To end all human war 1b.) To end all human government 1c.) To end all human (in)justice 2.) The Jesus of the Bible Literally receives His throne In Isaiah 66:1 & Acts 7:49 Thus says the LORD: Heaven is My throne, And earth is My footstool. He makes Himself known in (to) His Kingdom. The Jesus Christ of the Bible will literally, physically be upon this earth in power, and in glory, and enthroned for 1,000 years. Matthew 22:41-45 While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them, 42 saying, What do you think about the Christ? Whose Son is He? They said to Him, The Son of David. 43 He said to them, How then does David in the Spirit call Him Lord, saying: 44 The LORD said to my Lord, Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool? 45 If David then calls Him Lord, how is He his Son? 46 And no one was able to answer Him a word, nor from that day on did anyone dare question Him anymore. From Israel s king David would come a son of his genealogy, his DNA, who would be at the same time David s offspring and his King, The earthly king would bow someday to his Son, the Creator, Messiah, his Lord, his God. 2a.) To reveal Himself to Israel The Jesus of the Bible - Literally receives His throne One of the dangers of living at a time when history is being made is that because of our proximity - - we can t see the forest because of the trees. We re at a unique place in all of human history because for the first time the church of Jesus Christ and the nation of Israel exist at the same time. The existence of the nation of Israel is a most telling and prophetic sign to the nations today!!! The historical evidence from the Bible is beyond doubt, and here s why: 2
Deuteronomy 4:25-27 When you beget children and grandchildren and have grown old in the land, and act corruptly and make a carved image in the form of anything, and do evil in the sight of the LORD your God to provoke Him to anger, 26 I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that you will soon utterly perish from the land which you cross over the Jordan to possess; you will not prolong your days in it, but will be utterly destroyed. 27 And the LORD will scatter you among the peoples, and you will be left few in number among the nations where the LORD will drive you. Were the Jewish people ever scattered among the nations of the world? Yes, many times, but now for the last time they have been gathered back into their ancient land of promise. Jeremiah 31:10 ESV Hear the word of the Lord, O nations; proclaim it in distant coastlands: He who scattered Israel will gather them and will watch over His flock like a shepherd. I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in. And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: The deliverer will come from Zion; He will turn godlessness away from Jacob. And this is My covenant with them when I take away their sins. ~ Romans 11:25-27 Zechariah 14:4-5 On that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem, and the Mount of Olives will be split in two from east to west, What a profound and truly graphic moment that will be, when Israel sees her Messiah for the second time. Zechariah 13:6 In that day one will say to him, What are these wounds (naw-kaw: to be slapped, beaten, torn, and killed) between your arms (body)? Then he will answer, Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends. Zechariah 12:10b then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn. In the famed - Dead Sea Scrolls written over 2,200 years ago (+230 years before Jesus Christ) Fragment 4Q-251 says the heavens and the earth will obey the Messiah and all that is in them. Fragment 4Q-252 says The Messiah of righteousness the Branch of David comes because to Him and His seed was given the covenant the kingdom of his people forever. Joel 3:16 The LORD also will roar from Zion, And utter His voice from Jerusalem; The heavens and earth will shake; But the LORD will be a shelter for His people, And the strength of the children of Israel. The Jesus of the Bible - Literally receives His throne 2b.) To reveal Himself to the Nations 3
When The Second Coming Occurs Jesus, will come to; #1 rescue Israel and #2 Judge the Nations, (for 75 days). The advent of the Second Coming of Christ to earth and the establishment of the millennium is the National Repentance of Israel. (National repentance). Revelation 1:7-8 Behold, He is coming (The Lord) with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes (nations) of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen. 8 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, says the Lord, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty. Joel 2:31 Then shall the sun be turned into darkness, And the moon into blood, Before the coming of the great and (terrible) awesome day of the LORD. Matthew 25:31-34, 41 When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. 32 All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. 33 And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. 34 Then the King will say to those on His right hand, Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world 41 Then He will also say to those on the left hand, Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: - Millennium 3.) The Jesus of the Bible Joyously rules forever When the Bible says that Jesus will rule and reign forever, that statement is a universal truth that encompasses both time and eternity. Jesus must first rule and reign physically from Jerusalem in the land of Israel upon the throne of David if in fact He is the Jesus Christ of the Bible. The son of David in His DNA, Jesus Christ, must sit upon his personal thrown. The Bible tells us that His government on earth will be for 1000 years or what is called the millennium. I want you to hear the synonyms for this word Sovereign. It means (1) freely (2) independently (3) exclusively, (4) alone, (5) originally. But as it relates to the 1,000 year reign of Jesus Christ = Joy!!! Everything that Jesus offers mankind is exactly what every man wants and needs, but there s one big problem bound up in one little word SIN. Your SIN, my SIN is what has separated us from God, Jesus Christ is. His Kingdom is coming physically coming to this earth, but His kingdom is as real now as it will ever be. 3a.) He will rule with righteousness The Jesus of the Bible - Joyously rules forever 4
3b.) He will rule in authority 1 Corinthians 15:24-26 Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power. 25 For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet. 26 The last enemy that will be destroyed is death. Revelation 19:11-16 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. 12 His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. 13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. 15 Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16 And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. 3c.) He will rule by love The Jesus of the Bible - Joyously rules forever The kingdoms and the powers of this world rule by intimidation or by manipulation. Human nature and government have never mixed well unless there was a healthy fear of either God or the governed. Tyrants and Despots cannot tolerate either one! Colossians 1:13-14 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, 14 in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. conveyed meqi sthmi methistemi, to transport, transfer, to carry off or away. to replace or to take away one for another, in the (-) meaning to seduce. In the (+) meaning to lead down the best path. I mean that, Jesus will be accessible, forever accessible. He will be tangible - touchable and present. a shocking application - - a deep eternal truth Revelation 11:15-17 Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever! 16 And the twenty-four elders who sat before God on their thrones fell on their faces and worshiped God, 17 saying: We give You thanks, O Lord God Almighty, The One who is and who was and who is to come, Because You have taken Your great power and reigned. JESUS IS AS CLOSE TO YOU AS HE WILL EVER BE. You needn t wait for His Midnight call or His Physical return 5
or His throne to be set in Zion. You can, right now today in one blazing moment of desiring say to Him, Lord Jesus Christ, I am a full-fledged sinner, bloodless and bankrupt. But today recognize that without your cleansing blood applied to infected SIN - I am sick, condemned and lost forever without Your love. I want to want you. I desire to have you have me. In Jesus Name. You and I are in little (our sins excepted) what God is in large. Being made in His image we have within us the capacity to know Him. In our sins we lack only the power. The moment the Holy Spirit has quickened us to life in regeneration our whole being senses its kinship to God and leaps up in joyous recognition. That is the heavenly birth without which we cannot see the Kingdom of God. It is, however, not an end but an inception, for now begins the glorious pursuit, the heart's happy exploration of the infinite riches of the Godhead. Here it begins but where its ends, no man has yet discovered. A.W. Tozer Listen now if you hear this you will be a happy believer. If you miss it, you might just continue on in your half-lit, predictable, powerless Christian existence. LISTEN. MEDITATE ON THIS. THE DANGER WITH LEARNING IS BECOMING MORE KNOWLEDGEABLE YET UNCHANGED BY WHAT YOU KNOW. Biblical doctrine introduces us to the Biblical Jesus. When that happens we are biblically transformed by his indwelling Holy Spirit. That relationship is continuous and eternal. That reality generates an experience with God, moment by moment, day by day until the end breaks and the forever is realized. 1 John 4:16-17 ESV So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. 17 By this is love perfected with us, so that we may have confidence for the day of judgment, because as he is so also are we in this world. - Billy Graham The moment that we receive Christ as Savior, the Holy Spirit comes to live in our hearts. Our body becomes the temple of the Holy Spirit, and the Holy Spirit helps us live the Christian life. There is not a person anywhere who can be a Christian without the Holy Spirit. There is not a person who can follow Christ without the help of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit sees everything that goes on. He knows what goes on in our hearts. He knows what goes on in our minds. Nothing is hidden from Him. Colossians 2:9-10 For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; 10 and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power. Colossians 1:26 the mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints. 27 To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. 1 Corinthians 6:19 6
Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, This treasure is in earthen vessels. / like Gideon s pots filled with light. / When we re broken, the light of Christ comes out. John 17:23 I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me :24 Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world. > > > > T h e C r o s s, T h e C h r i s t, T h e C a l l < < < < End of Study Copyright July 5, 2015 by Jack Hibbs 7
