BRIDGING FAITH & LEARNING SERVICE OF WORSHIP Fourth Sunday after the Epiphany Sunday, January 28, 2018, 11:00 a.m. Sadao Watanabe, Fourth Trumpet In Mark's Gospel, Jesus heralds the coming Kingdom of God by teaching with astonishing authority. A demon that has possessed a man cries out to Jesus in fear, revealing its knowledge of Jesus' eternal identity as the Son of God. Jesus rebukes the unclean spirit, commanding it to leave the man. The demon has no choice but to obey Jesus, and so departs from the man. The crowds who witness this are amazed, and Jesus' fame begins to spread throughout the region.

Response *The Apostles' Creed I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
