We have proof that Jesus was the Son of God because of His miracles, and the knowledge and grace that He gave to us while He was here on earth. Because we have faith that our sins are forgiven through Jesus, we should share that with others to help them see that our faith is grounded in evidence. If we curse or say mean things to others, and they know we are Christians, they will probably not think that Christians are different from anyone else. Matthew 12:31 tells us that we should love our neighbor as ourselves, which means that we should love others as much as we love ourselves. By doing this, we are showing others God s love through our actions. Giving our time by doing service is a great way to show God s love toward others. Service can be many different things, including giving a meal to someone in the hospital or raking leaves for an elderly person. When we do service for others, we should not expect anything in return. We should simply tell them that God loves them and that is why you are helping them. The Israelites wanted to be like the rest of the world and follow false gods because it was easier than following the one true God. We can often be the same way. Though we may not go out and find other gods to worship, we can still experience times of disobedience and living in sin. Living according to God s standards can be hard, but in order to please God and have a good relationship with Him, we should always follow His rules, commands, and plans for our lives.
