April 2017 Joy in Our Town This month's Joy in Our Town programs featured Pastor Keola Richards hosting programs with Pastor Michele Okimura of Explicit and Kahu Moani Sitch and Brenda Wong of InterVarsity Hawaii.
Other Happenings at KAAH KAAH station manager Cheryl Witbeck (below, left) attended the TBN manager's meeting in Tustin and had a great time learning new things and connecting with other managers and TBN staff. Believe it or not, there are several people working at TBN's Tustin studios with Hawaii ties. KAAH staff were in attendance and helped promote the yearly Easter Sonrise Service at Kawaiaha o Church. As usual, it was a joint effort of several churches. This year featured Rodney Arias with worship, and Pastor Brady Giusta bringing the message. All did a great job commemorating the resurrection of our Lord as the sun rose over our outdoor service of 500-plus participants (photos below).
Comments From KAAH Guests and Viewers Sarah, a former homeless lady who suffered with addictions, continues to drop by our KAAH facility and ask for prayer. She is now giving her testimony at local AA meetings and various gatherings of all that Jesus has done for her. She has also given her testimony on camera for us which was included in one of our Joy In Our Town programs. Sarah came to our station on the day the program aired to watch it and called her grandmother to tune in also. They both cried and rejoiced as they realized how God had pursued Sarah for years to bring her back into His fold. Jeffrey, a viewer from California, called to inquire of Pastor Joel Osteen s air times here in Hawaii for his friends and family who live here. It was a joy listening to him share his love for Pastor Joel and Lakewood Church as he explained how he felt the Holy Spirit speak to him through several messages. He was thrilled to learn that TBN airs Pastor Joel several times a week and thanked us for doing so! Bill called and requested prayer for healing. He was diagnosed with cancer and was afraid. We had the pleasure of praying with him, as well as providing him with the number to our 24-hour prayer line so he could stay in constant contact. He was relieved and happy to know that someone is there ready to help me get my thoughts together so I can beat this thing. Clay, a local homeless gentleman, continues to stop by and leave his $1 donation. Jesus is calling him, and we have the pleasure of seeing a transformation in Clay.
We have enjoyed visiting with several of our local law enforcement officers as they patrol the area. Many stop in and give us an opportunity to offer encouragement and prayer, as well as to thank them for their service to our community. Blessed are the peacemakers! Polly called to thank us for airing Restoring the Shack. She said that she really enjoys the program. Kaahuli called to express his gratitude for TBN. He really our morning lineup with John Hagee, Joel Osteen, Joseph Prince, and Kenneth Copeland. Listening to their teachings each morning gets his day off to a right start. He shared many examples of feeling the Holy Spirit visit him through the messages of these amazing pastors. Evelyn called to thank us for airing Drive Thru History. Her children enjoy the program, and she feels it is very educational and one of the best shows on TV! Felicidad was walking by our station when a young Billy Graham caught her eye from our lobby TV. She said: I remember watching him when I was younger, and I gave my heart to Jesus after listening to a message he preached. She said she knew God had spoken to her, and when she saw him on the TV in our lobby, she remembered that very moment! How wonderful to see the Holy Spirit touch the lives of those who walk by our doors! Mahalo Ke Akua!
