Up for discussion will be the Deacon s recommendations for revisions to our Church Constitution and By-laws. If you have not already gotten a copy of the Constitution and proposed revisions, they are available on the table in the church foyer or from Brother Tom. Come and bring your favorite board game, a snack to share (if you choose), and enjoy a great night of fun and fellowship for the entire family! Open to all ages. From the Desk of Pastor Tom Grantham Sunday, March 12 th will mark my thirteen year anniversary as Pastor at Purpose. I don t know about you, but for me the time has flown by. Looking back I think about the souls that have been saved, believers that have been baptized, weddings that have been performed, babies born and dedicated to the Lord and lives that have been enriched by the study of God s Word. A tremendous part of the blessing associated with being at a church for an extended time is the joy of seeing those who were children mature, not only physically but spiritually, and begin to assume the roles of leadership and ministry within the church. This will continue to be one of my greatest sources of joy. I remember when the decision was made to build the new sanctuary, how I would wander through the partially completed structure, praying over each area, wondering if it would ever be completed. But eventually it was although not without some tremendous stress associated with our contractor filing bankruptcy before our project was completed! I remember that first baptismal service in the new sanctuary the first time we had been able to baptize without borrowing some other church s baptistery and the joy of baptizing twelve new believers at one time (still a record for me!). Hard to believe that it s now been almost seven years since that date! Along the way there have been some sad good-byes as a number of our members graduated from this life to be with Christ. Each has left a void in our hearts, but with a renewed anticipation of a grand day of reunion. All in all it s been a grand thirteen years! I cherish the new friendships that God has brought into my life over these years, and look forward to many more in the days to come.
