THE HEALINGS OF JESUS, PART 2 KENNETH COPELAND March 26-30, 2018 DAY 1 LAY HOLD OF THE HEALING POWER OF JESUS Many times we study the healings of Jesus as separate events without realizing their geographical and chronological relationship. Let s explore a couple of days full of healings in the life of Jesus and His disciples. STUDY IT I. Many times we study the healings of Jesus as separate events without realizing their geographical and chronically relationship. Jesus lived in Capernaum to fulfill prophecy (Matthew 4:12-16). Jesus found Himself in the writing of the prophets (Isaiah 61:1-2). Jesus didn t make any decisions on His own. Jesus is The WORD made flesh. He said He could do nothing of Himself. He only said what He heard His Father say, and did what He saw His Father do. II. Here is a day full of healings in the life of Jesus (Mark 5; Matthew 9:24-30). Jesus and His disciples traveled across the Sea of Galilee to cast the demon out of the man at the Gaderenes. Then, they returned to the ship and traveled back to Capernaum. Before Jesus got home, Jairus begged Him to come to his house and heal his daughter. o Jairus was a leader in the synagogue. He knew Jesus, and Jesus knew him. Their houses were fairly close to each other. As they were walking, the woman with the issue of blood approached Jesus for healing. Jesus, realizing virtue had gone out of Him, stopped and listened to her story. Her faith caused her to be healed and whole. As Jesus and Jairus continued toward Jairus house, a messenger came to say the girl had died. o Jesus told Jairus not to be afraid, but to continue to believe. o When they arrived at the house, the mourners were making noise. Jesus told them she was only asleep. They laughed in scorn at His words. o Jesus went into the room where the girl was lying and raised her from the dead.

Before Jesus could get back home, two lepers approached Him asking for healing. Jesus invited them into His house and healed them. What a day! III. Another day, Jesus and His disciples had more healings and miracles. Jesus and His disciples traveled across the Sea of Galilee, and went up on a mountain to pray. Jesus saw a multitude coming toward Him (John 6:1-21). o Jesus told the disciples to feed the people, but they didn t have that much food. o Jesus multiplied the food and fed the 5,000. Jesus sent the multitude away, and sent His disciples to the ship to go to Capernaum. o Jesus stayed a little while on the mountain to pray. When Jesus left, He walked on the water. A storm had come up, and the disciples were trying to row through it. o They saw Jesus walking on the water, they took Him into the boat, and immediately the boat was at the shore at Capernaum. o Jesus wanted to sleep in His own bed! Additional scriptures: John 14:10; Mark 1:40-42, 7:28; John 1:14, 5:19; Ephesians 6:12; Daniel 10:12-13; Matthew 8:20; Romans 4:17; Mark 2:4; Psalm 34:8 MAKE IT PERSONAL You can lay hold of the same healing power that Jesus used on the earth. Strengthen your faith by reading God s WORD and expecting your faith-filled words to bring change. Write what scriptures you will read and think about this week (Hint: Mark 11:22-26).

THE HEALINGS OF JESUS, PART 2 KENNETH COPELAND March 26-30, 2018 DAY 2 GOD S WILL FOR YOU IS HEALING God s will for you is healing. When anyone asks Jesus to heal him, His answer is, I will. Jesus is willing to heal anyone who asks. The same power that heals, also forgives. STUDY IT I. God s will for you is healing. One thing that holds many Christian people in bondage concerning healing is not knowing whether healing is God s will or not. Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). Jesus healed yesterday, so He will heal today. Jesus is unchangeable (James 1:17). Anything Jesus said yesterday is still true today. Once Jesus said, I will, that settled it for all men for all time. Jesus is no respecter of persons (Acts 10:34). II. When anyone asks Jesus to heal him, His answer is, I will. Luke gives information as a physician that may not be found in the other Gospels, such as the man who came to Jesus to be healed was full of leprosy (Luke 5:12-13). Because of all the rejection the man had suffered since he contracted leprosy, he wasn t sure Jesus would heal him. This man had sores all over his body, and he smelled of sickness and decay. o His question, If You will, was more than academic he wasn t sure Jesus would have anything to do with him (Matthew 8:2-3). o The first thing Jesus did was touch this untouchable man. o The leper was on his face on the ground. Jesus got down there with him and said, Of course I will (TPT). God doesn t teach using sickness and disease. He teaches with His WORD. The centurion said his servant was home sick. Jesus said, I will come and heal him (Matthew 8:7). That s the Father s will. God is saying the same thing to you. When you ask and believe, He will answer, I will. The centurion said he wasn t worthy for Jesus to come into his house. He said, Just speak the word, and my servant will be healed.

Any person in Christ is a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17). If you are in Christ, you are worthy! III. Jesus is willing to heal anyone who asks. The demons that tormented the man of Gadara could not stop him from worshipping Jesus. o No demon can stop you from getting born again, or keep Jesus away from you. o Only your unbelief can stop Jesus (Mark 6:5-6). If you can believe it, you can receive it. Faith in the heart speaks with the mouth. How can you find out the will of God? It s written in the Bible. Jesus will not promise you something in His WORD that is not His will. Christianity is not a set of religious beliefs; it is reality! Jesus is your blood brother and your spirit twin. You were born of incorruptible seed just like Jesus (1 Peter 1:23). Jesus was the firstborn we are also one of those born into the family of God. Jesus sacrifice and resurrection brought many sons to glory (Hebrews 2:9-10). IV. It s important to know that the same power that heals, also forgives! Jesus came home to Capernaum and saw a man who needed forgiveness and healing (see Matthew 9:1-7). o Jesus said, Cheer up. Your sins are forgiven. o Which is easier to say, your sins be forgiven or arise and walk? You need to know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins. Jesus told the man to get up and go to his own house. o The people in Jesus house were not antagonistic; they wanted to be there (Mark 2:1-12). o Jesus preached The WORD, but some listeners got distracted when Jesus said the man s sins were forgiven. o Jesus saw the faith of the five men; four who carried the paralytic and one who needed healing. Jesus forgave the man s sins and healed his palsy. Additional scriptures: Luke 7:1-10; John 5:30; Mark 5:28-34; Romans 10:17 MAKE IT PERSONAL Make this declaration with us: I am forgiven and healed, because what Jesus said in the past is still true today, and it s true for me! In Jesus Name. Amen.

THE HEALINGS OF JESUS, PART 2 KENNETH COPELAND March 26-30, 2018 DAY 3 FAITH AND POWER: THE KEYS TO HEALING Revelation from The LORD is so important, and this generation really needs it, because we are in the last days. Faith in action caused four men to bring their friend to Jesus for healing. The same powerful anointing that heals, also forgives. We see faith and power at work in the woman with the issue of blood. STUDY IT I. Revelation from The LORD is so important, and this generation really needs it, because we are in the last days. Work with Jesus and the Holy Spirit, because He is with you. He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). Rest in The LORD, and you will see mighty, wonderful works. II. Faith in action caused four men to bring their friend to Jesus for healing (Matthew 9:1-8). Jesus saw their faith. Jesus said, Cheer up! Your sins are forgiven. The need for forgiveness was big in this man s heart. o Then Jesus said, Get up, take up your bed and go home. o The people in the house were not hostile or antagonistic toward Jesus. They came to hear Him. But, they got a little sidetracked when Jesus talked about forgiving sins. When the man was healed, they marveled. The same situation is spoken of in Mark 2:1-12. o Jesus had been on the road for some days. When people found out Jesus was home, they came to His house to hear Him. Jesus preached The WORD to them. o Then, the four men carrying the man who had palsy arrived. o They couldn t get in, so they went up on the roof, removed the tiles and let down the sick man in front of Jesus. o Jesus preached The WORD, and said, Cheer up, your sins be forgiven. o The scribes reasoned in their hearts that Jesus was speaking blasphemies when He told the man his sins were forgiven. o Jesus knew what they were thinking. He addressed their concerns by saying, Which is easier, to forgive sins or heal the sick?

o Then, Jesus told the man to get up, take up his bed, and go home. Immediately the man was healed. The people were amazed and glorified God. III. Jesus was teaching, and the power of The LORD was present to heal. Pharisees and doctors of the Law were listening (Luke 5:17-26). The power of The LORD was present to heal them. o Of course the power was there. Jesus was preaching and faith was coming. But the devil sidetracked them with a little issue. Usually, there will be something you really need to hear, and the devil will try to distract you from it. The key is to focus, just like a football kicker focuses on the ball, no matter what. Just like a baseball pitcher must keep his eye on the ball as he pitches. They know how to concentrate. o Kenneth Copeland used focus and concentration when he went to Oral Roberts University. He listened intently to Brother Roberts, and then to Brother Hagin. Brother Copeland s spirit grew stronger because he was taking in everything he was taught. His faith worked because He was concentrating on God s WORD! The devil wants to break your concentration, so your faith won t work. IV. The same powerful anointing that heals, forgives. It is so important to do what Jesus said in Mark 11:23-25: When you are praying, forgive anyone you have something against. Let your faith lead you to the healing. Don t follow your feelings. Jesus doesn t work in response to feeling. Jesus was preaching the WORD. The people were sitting there thinking religious thoughts, and they missed the healing anointing. V. We see faith and power at work in the woman with the issue of blood (Mark 5:25-34). She made a faith demand on Jesus Anointing. Her plan was just to touch His clothes, get her healing, and leave. When she touched His clothes, her blood issue dried up. She was healed. Jesus realized that power had gone out from Him. When the woman gave her testimony, Jesus said, Your faith has made you whole. The woman was aware of the power going into her body, Jesus was aware of the power going out. The Pharisees could have had that, too, but they were distracted with religious analyzing of Jesus words. MAKE IT PERSONAL Faith and power are the keys to your healing. Take it now! Say: I take my healing, now!

THE HEALINGS OF JESUS, PART 2 KENNETH COPELAND March 26-30, 2018 DAY 4 REDEEMED FROM THE CURSE AND HEALED We are redeemed from the curse of the Law. The devil and his works are not revealed in the Old Testament. A woman had a spirit of infirmity and needed healing. There are benefits to being a son or daughter of Abraham. Since you have been born again, you are a son or daughter of Abraham, and you have been redeemed from the curse. STUDY IT I. We are redeemed from the curse of the Law (Galatians 3:13). The priests preached the curse. They had gotten deep into the Law and the importance of never breaking the Law (because breaking the Law brings the curse). The description of the Law begins with the blessing, not the curse (Deuteronomy 28). Jesus came preaching THE BLESSING the rabbis were preaching the curse. They were in direct opposition to one another. II. The devil and his works are not revealed in the Old Testament. The rabbis did know the account of the first Passover when God said the destroyer will not be allowed in your house when the blood is applied (Exodus 12:23). When Jesus came, He taught about the enemy, the devil, his ways and his works. Then, the Apostle Paul taught more. God doesn t use the methods of the devil. God only made one man poor and sick, and sent Him to hell that was Jesus. You don t go to hell for your sins. Jesus already paid the price for all your sin. The only thing that will send you to hell today is not accepting Jesus Christ of Nazareth as your LORD and your Savior. III. A woman had a spirit of infirmity for 18 years and needed healing (Luke 13:10-14). She could not stand up straight. Jesus saw her and said, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity. Immediately she was made straight and glorified God. The ruler of the synagogue was angry. He said there are six days men ought to work. Men were not working here. God was doing a work for the woman.

The ruler of the synagogue believed in healing. He just didn t think it should happen on the Sabbath. Jesus answered them they would help their animals on the Sabbath. Shouldn t this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, be released from her bondage? IV. There are benefits to being a son or daughter of Abraham. She was Jewish. She had a promise given to Abraham that was given equally to all the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. o Satan had bound her. Shouldn t she be loosed on the Sabbath day? o This woman was an heir of God s promises to Abraham. She should be loosed any day, including the Sabbath. We were born again into Christ. We were grafted into the Jewish promises (Galatians 3:13-14). o If you are Christ s, you are an heir of Abraham s promises (Galatians 3:29). o A better translation of if you are Christ s (RSV) would be if you be in Christ. o Anyone in Christ is a new creature (2 Corinthians 5:17). Say: I m a new creature. I m in Christ. Old things have passed away. V. Since you have been born again, you are the seed of Abraham, and you have been redeemed from the curse. Jesus bore the curse and its punishment in your place. The curse is three-fold: spiritual death (being disconnected from God who is true Life), sickness and poverty. Jesus, our Redeemer, suffered those things for us. God told Adam, The day you eat of that tree you will die (Genesis 2:17). He lived physically 930 years, but spiritually he died when he disobeyed God (Genesis 5:5). We can get born again, healed and prosper financially, through Jesus priesthood, since He is our High Priest (Hebrews 7:27, 8:1). Jesus took it for you. Say: I am the seed of Abraham. What God promised Abraham, He promised me. Additional scriptures: Romans 10:17; 1 John 4:4; Genesis 15:18; Proverbs 10:22; Genesis 13:2 MAKE IT PERSONAL You can trace your spiritual lineage: Abraham Isaac Jacob Jesus (put your name).

THE HEALINGS OF JESUS, PART 2 KENNETH COPELAND March 26-30, 2018 DAY 5 THE FINE LINE BETWEEN BELIEF AND UNBELIEF FOR HEALING There is a line between belief and unbelief. All things are possible to those who believe. In the Gospel of Luke, we find even more description. You can only do the works of God if you have faith in God. STUDY IT I. There is a line between belief and unbelief. After Jesus was transfigured, He came down from the mountain (Matthew 17:14-21). o A certain man came to the disciples and asked them to heal his son. o The disciples were not able to cure the son. o When Jesus arrived, the man knelt before Jesus asking that his son be healed. o Jesus said, O faithless and perverse generation and healed the son. The disciples asked why they could not cast out the demon. Jesus replied, Because of your unbelief. o Jesus said, This kind comes out by prayer and fasting. o Jesus was not talking about the demon when He said this kind goes out with prayer and fasting. You can t get rid of a demon by fasting. He was talking about unbelief this kind of unbelief goes out with prayer and fasting. In the Scriptures Jesus talked about no faith, weak faith, strong faith and growing faith (Mark 4:40; Romans 4:19-20; 2 Thessalonians 1:3). II. All things are possible to those who believe. The same account is written in Mark 9:14-23. o Jesus again calls them faithless. The demon began to manifest in the boy, and Jesus didn t react. He asked the father, How long has he been like this? o The father said, He has been this way since he was a child. o The father said, If You can do anything... o Jesus said, If you can believe, all things are possible. In Jesus home town, He could not (not would not) do many mighty works, because of the people s unbelief (Mark 6:5, WE).

Jesus said the words He spoke were not His own; the Father did the works (John 14:10). Jesus said the Son can do nothing of Himself (John 5:19). Jesus is trying to get the father to believe something. o The father said, If You can do anything. He had lost faith, because the disciples had failed to heal his son. o Jesus said, If you can believe, all things are possible. The father said, I believe, help me in my unbelief. o Jesus cast out the demon. o It was the disciples unbelief that prevented them from casting out the demon. III. In the Gospel of Luke, we find even more description. Luke wrote in a documentary style and addressed his books to Theopolis (Acts 1:1). He questioned the witnesses and did research. All the Gospel writers wrote as the Spirit of God moved them. It s miraculous how the books fit together. Here is Luke s account of the same event (Luke 9:37-44). o Luke put in the detail that the boy was the man s only child. o Once again, the disciples could not cast out the demon. o Jesus was disappointed at their lack of faith. o Jesus healed the man s son. IV. You can only do the works of God if you have faith in God. Jesus clearly told the disciples that they failed because of their unbelief (Matthew 17:19-20). o Previously, Jesus had given the disciples the power to cast out demons and heal sicknesses and disease (Matthew 10:1). o The disciples were faithless because they had forgotten what Jesus said. If Jesus said it, it s true. If Jesus casts out the devil using you, the devil is gone. Jesus said He gave you power, so you have power! Don t doubt! Believe!
