Our Master Yahushua, the Aninted came t this wrld as the unwearied servant f man's necessity. He "tk ur infirmities, and bare ur sicknesses," that He might minister t every need f humanity. Matthew 8:17. The burden f disease and wretchedness and sin He came t remve. It was His missin t bring t men cmplete restratin; He came t give them health and peace and perfectin f character. Varied were the circumstances and needs f thse wh besught His aid, and nne wh came t Him went away unhelped. Frm Him flwed a stream f healing pwer, and in bdy and mind and sul men were made whle. The Saviur's wrk was nt restricted t any time r place. His cmpassin knew n limit. On s large a scale did He cnduct His wrk f healing and teaching that there was n building in Palestine large enugh t receive the multitudes that thrnged t Him. On the green hill slpes f Galilee, in the thrughfares f travel, by the seashre, in the synaggues, and in every ther place where the sick culd be brught t Him, was t be fund His hspital. In every city, every twn, every village, thrugh which He passed, He laid His hands upn the afflicted nes and healed them. Wherever there were hearts ready t receive His message, He cmfrted them with the assurance f their heavenly Father's lve. All day He ministered t thse wh came t Him; in the evening He gave attentin t such as thrugh the day must til t earn a pittance fr the supprt f their families. Yahushua carried the awful weight f respnsibility fr the salvatin f men. He knew that unless there was a decided change in the principles and purpses f the human race, all wuld be lst. This was the burden f His sul, and nne culd appreciate the weight that rested upn Him. Thrugh childhd, yuth, and manhd He walked alne. Yet it was heaven t be in His presence. Day by day He met trials and temptatins; day by day He was brught int cntact with evil and witnessed its pwer upn thse whm He was seeking t bless and t save. Yet He did nt fail r becme discuraged. In all things He brught His wishes int strict abeyance t His missin. He glrified His life by making everything in it subrdinate t the will f His Father. When in His yuth His mther, finding Him in the schl f the rabbis, said, "Sn, why hast Thu thus dealt with us?" He answered,--and His answer is the keynte f His lifewrk,--"hw is it that ye sught Me? wist ye nt that I must be abut My Father's business?" Luke 2:48, 49. His life was ne f cnstant self-sacrifice. He had n hme in this wrld except as the kindness f friends prvided fr Him as a wayfarer. He came t live in ur behalf the life f the prest and t walk and wrk amng the needy and the suffering. Unrecgnized and unhnred, He walked in and ut amng the peple fr whm He had dne s much.

He was always patient and cheerful, and the afflicted hailed Him as a messenger f life and peace. He saw the needs f men and wmen, children and yuth, and t all He gave the invitatin, "Cme unt Me." During His ministry, Yahushua devted mre time t healing the sick than t preaching. His miracles testified t the truth f His wrds, that He came nt t destry, but t save. Wherever He went, the tidings f His mercy preceded Him. Where He had passed, the bjects f His cmpassin were rejicing in health and making trial f their new-fund pwers. Crwds were cllecting arund them t hear frm their lips the wrks that Yahuwah had wrught. His vice was the first sund that many had ever heard, His name the first wrd they had ever spken, His face the first they had ever lked upn. Why shuld they nt lve Yahushua and sund His praise? As He passed thrugh the twns and cities He was like a vital current, diffusing life and jy. "The land f Zebulun and the land f Naphtali, Tward the sea, beynd the Jrdan, Galilee f the natins, The peple that sat in darkness Saw a great light, And t them that sat in the regin and shadw f death, T them did light spring up." Matthew 4:15, 16, A.R.V., margin. The Saviur made each wrk f healing an ccasin fr implanting divine principles in the mind and sul. This was the purpse f His wrk. He imparted earthly blessings, that He might incline the hearts f men t receive the gspel f His grace. Christ might have ccupied the highest place amng the teachers f the Jewish natin, but He preferred rather t take the gspel t the pr. He went frm place t place, that thse in the highways and byways might hear the wrds f truth. By the sea, n the muntainside, in the streets f the city, in the synaggue, His vice was heard explaining the Scriptures. Often He taught in the uter curt f the temple, that the Gentiles might hear His wrds. S unlike the explanatins f Scripture given by the scribes and Pharisees was Christ's teaching, that the attentin f the peple was arrested. The rabbis dwelt upn traditin, upn human thery and speculatin. Often that which men had taught and written abut the Scripture was put in place f the Scripture itself. The subject f Christ's teaching was the wrd f Yahuwah. He met questiners with a plain, "It is written," "What saith the Scripture?" "Hw readest thu?" At every pprtunity when an interest was awakened by either friend r fe, He presented the wrd. With clearness and pwer He prclaimed the gspel message. His wrds shed a fld f light n the teachings f patriarchs and prphets, and the Scriptures came t men as a new revelatin. Never befre had His hearers perceived in the wrd f Yahuwah such depth f meaning. Never was there such an evangelist as Christ. He was the Majesty f heaven, but He humbled Himself t take ur nature, that He might meet men where they were. T all peple, rich and pr, free and bnd, Christ, the Messenger f the cvenant, brught the tidings f salvatin. His fame as the Great Healer spread thrughut Palestine. The sick came t the places thrugh which He wuld pass, that they might call n Him fr help. Hither, t, came many anxius t hear His wrds and t receive a tuch f His hand. Thus He went frm city

t city, frm twn t twn, preaching the gspel and healing the sick--the King f glry in the lwly garb f humanity. He attended the great yearly festivals f the natin, and t the multitude absrbed in utward ceremny He spke f heavenly things, bringing eternity within their view. T all He brught treasures frm the strehuse f wisdm. He spke t them in language s simple that they culd nt fail f understanding. By methds peculiarly His wn, He helped all wh were in srrw and afflictin. With tender, curteus grace He ministered t the sin-sick sul, bringing healing and strength. The prince f teachers, He sught access t the peple by the pathway f their mst familiar assciatins. He presented the truth in such a way that ever after it was t His hearers intertwined with their mst hallwed recllectins and sympathies. He taught in a way that made them feel the cmpleteness f His identificatin with their interests and happiness. His instructin was s direct, His illustratins were s apprpriate, His wrds s sympathetic and cheerful, that His hearers were charmed. The simplicity and earnestness with which He addressed the needy, hallwed every wrd. What a busy life He led! Day by day He might have been seen entering the humble abdes f want and srrw, speaking hpe t the dwncast and peace t the distressed. Gracius, tenderhearted, pitiful, He went abut lifting up the bwed-dwn and cmfrting the srrwful. Wherever He went, He carried blessing. While He ministered t the pr, Yahushua studied als t find ways f reaching the rich. He sught the acquaintance f the wealthy and cultured Pharisee, the Jewish nbleman, and the Rman ruler. He accepted their invitatins, attended their feasts, made Himself familiar with their interests and ccupatins, that He might gain access t their hearts, and reveal t them the imperishable riches. Christ came t this wrld t shw that by receiving pwer frm n high, man can live an unsullied life. With unwearying patience and sympathetic helpfulness He met men in their necessities. By the gentle tuch f grace He banished frm the sul unrest and dubt, changing enmity t lve, and unbelief t cnfidence. He culd say t whm He pleased, "Fllw Me," and the ne addressed arse and fllwed Him. The spell f the wrld's enchantment was brken. At the sund f His vice the spirit f greed and ambitin fled frm the heart, and men arse, emancipated, t fllw the Saviur. Christ recgnized n distinctin f natinality r rank r creed. The scribes and Pharisees desired t make a lcal and a natinal benefit f the gifts f heaven and t exclude the rest f Yahuwah's family in the wrld. But Christ came t break dwn every wall f partitin. He came t shw that His gift f mercy and lve is as uncnfined as the air, the light, r the shwers f rain that refresh the earth. The life f Christ established a religin in which there is n caste, a religin by which Jew and Gentile, free and bnd, are linked in a cmmn brtherhd, equal befre Yahuwah. N questin f plicy influenced His mvements. He made n difference between neighbrs and strangers, friends and enemies. That which appealed t His heart was a sul thirsting fr the waters f life. He passed by n human being as wrthless, but sught t apply the healing remedy t every sul. In whatever cmpany He fund Himself He presented a lessn apprpriate t the time and the circumstances. Every

neglect r insult shwn by men t their fellw men nly made Him mre cnscius f their need f His divinehuman sympathy. He sught t inspire with hpe the rughest and mst unprmising, setting befre them the assurance that they might becme blameless and harmless, attaining such a character as wuld make them manifest as the children f Yahuwah. Often He met thse wh had drifted under Satan's cntrl, and wh had n pwer t break frm his snare. T such a ne, discuraged, sick, tempted, fallen, Yahushua wuld speak wrds f tenderest pity, wrds that were needed and culd be understd. Others He met wh were fighting a hand-t-hand battle with the adversary f suls. These He encuraged t persevere, assuring them that they wuld win; fr angels f Yahuwah were n their side and wuld give them the victry. At the table f the publicans He sat as an hnred guest, by His sympathy and scial kindliness shwing that He recgnized the dignity f humanity; and men lnged t becme wrthy f His cnfidence. Upn their thirsty hearts His wrds fell with blessed, life-giving pwer. New impulses were awakened, and t these utcasts f sciety there pened the pssibility f a new life. Thugh He was a Jew, Yahushua mingled freely with the Samaritans, setting at nught the Pharisaic custms f His natin. In face f their prejudices He accepted the hspitality f this despised peple. He slept with them under their rfs, ate with them at their tables,--partaking f the fd prepared and served by their hands,--taught in their streets, and treated them with the utmst kindness and curtesy. And while He drew their hearts t Him by the tie f human sympathy, His divine grace brught t them the salvatin which the Jews rejected. Christ neglected n pprtunity f prclaiming the gspel f salvatin. Listen t His wnderful wrds t that ne wman f Samaria. He was sitting by Jacb's well, as the wman came t draw water. T her surprise He asked a favr f her. "Give Me t drink," He said. He wanted a cl draft, and He wished als t pen the way whereby He might give t her the water f life. "Hw is it," said the wman, "that Thu, being a Jew, askest drink f me, which am a wman f Samaria? fr the Jews have n dealings with the Samaritans." Yahushua answered, "If thu knewest the gift f Yahuwah, and wh it is that saith t thee, Give Me t drink; thu wuldest have asked f Him, and He wuld have given thee living water... Whsever drinketh f this water shall thirst again: but whsever drinketh f the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well f water springing up int everlasting life." Jhn 4:7-14. Hw much interest Christ manifested in this ne wman! Hw earnest and elquent were His wrds! When the wman heard them, she left her waterpt, and went int the city, saying t her friends, "Cme, see a man, which tld me all things that ever I did: is nt this the Christ?" We read that "many f the Samaritans f that city believed n Him." Verses 29, 39. And wh can estimate the influence which these wrds have exerted fr the saving f suls in the years that have passed since then? Wherever hearts are pen t receive the truth, Christ is ready t instruct them. He reveals t them the Father, and the service acceptable t Him wh reads the heart. Fr such He uses n parables. T them, as t the wman at the well, He says, "I that speak unt thee am He."

Yahushua "tuched her hand, and the fever left her," and she arse and ministered t the Saviur and His disciples. Luke 4:38; Mark 1:30; Matthew 8:15. Rapidly the tidings spread. The miracle had been wrught upn the Sabbath, and fr fear f the rabbis the peple dared nt cme fr healing until the sun was set. Then frm the hmes, the shps, the market places, the inhabitants f the city pressed tward the humble dwelling that sheltered Yahushua. The sick were brught upn litters, they came leaning upn staffs, r, supprted by friends, they tttered feebly int the Saviur's presence. Hur after hur they came and went; fr nne culd knw whether tmrrw wuld find the Healer still amng them. Never befre had Capernaum witnessed a day like this. The air was filled with the vice f triumph and shuts f deliverance. Nt until the last sufferer had been relieved did Yahushua cease His wrk. It was far int the night when the multitude departed and silence settled dwn upn the hme f Simn. The lng, exciting day was past, and Yahushua sught rest. But while the city was wrapped in slumber, the Saviur, "rising up a great while befre day," "went ut, and departed int a slitary place, and there prayed." Mark 1:35. Early in the mrning Peter and his cmpanins came t Yahushua, saying that already the peple f Capernaum were seeking Him. With surprise they heard Christ's wrds, "I must preach the kingdm f Yahuwah t ther cities als: fr therefre am I sent." Luke 4:43. In the excitement which then pervaded Capernaum there was danger that the bject f His missin wuld be lst sight f. Yahushua was nt satisfied t attract attentin t Himself merely as a wnder-wrker r as a healer f physical disease. He was seeking t draw men t Him as their Saviur. While the peple were eager t believe that He had cme as a king t establish an earthly reign, He desired t turn their minds frm the earthly t the spiritual. Mere wrldly success wuld interfere with His wrk. And the wnder f the careless crwd jarred upn His spirits. N self-assertin mingled with His life. The hmage which the wrld gives t psitin, wealth, r talent was freign t the Sn f man. Nne f the means that men emply t win allegiance r cmmand hmage did Yahushua use. Centuries befre His birth it had been prphesied f Him, "He shall nt cry, nr lift up, nr cause His vice t be heard in the street. A bruised reed shall He nt break, and the dimly burning flax shall He nt quench: He shall bring frth judgment unt truth." Isaiah 42:2, 3, margin.

The Pharisees sught distinctin by their scrupulus ceremnialism and the stentatin f their wrship and their charities. They prved their zeal fr religin by making it the theme f discussin. Disputes between ppsing sects were lud and lng, and it was nt unusual t hear n the streets the vice f angry cntrversy frm learned dctrs f the law. In marked cntrast t all this was the life f Yahushua. In that life n nisy disputatin, n stentatius wrship, n act t gain applause, was ever witnessed. Christ was hid in Yahuwah, and Yahuwah was revealed in the character f His Sn. T this revelatin Yahushua desired the minds f the peple t be directed. The Sun f Righteusness did nt burst upn the wrld in splendr, t dazzle the senses with His glry. It is written f Christ, "His ging frth is prepared as the mrning." Hsea 6:3. Quietly and gently the daylight breaks upn the earth, dispelling the darkness and waking the wrld t life. S did the Sun f Righteusness arise, "with healing in His wings." Malachi 4:2. "Behld My Servant, whm I uphld; Mine Elect, in whm My sul delighteth." Isaiah 42:1. "Thu hast been a strength t the pr, A strength t the needy in his distress, A refuge frm the strm, a shadw frm the heat." Isaiah 25:4. "Thus saith El, Yahuwah, He that created the heavens, and stretched them ut; He that spread frth the earth, and that which cmeth ut f it; He that giveth breath unt the peple upn it, And spirit t them that walk therein: I Yahuwah have called Thee in righteusness, And will hld Thine hand, And will keep Thee, and give Thee fr a cvenant f the peple, Fr a light f the Gentiles;

T pen the blind eyes, T bring ut the prisners frm the prisn, And them that sit in darkness ut f the prisn huse." Isaiah 42:5-7. "I will bring the blind by a way that they knew nt; I will lead them in paths that they have nt knwn: I will make darkness light befre them, And crked things straight. These things will I d unt them, and nt frsake them." Verse 16. "Sing unt Yahuwah a new sng, And His praise frm the end f the earth, Ye that g dwn t the sea, and all that is therein; The isles, and the inhabitants theref. Let the wilderness and the cities theref lift up the vice, The villages that Kedar dth inhabit: Let the inhabitants f the rck sing, Let them shut frm the tp f the muntains. Let them give glry unt Yahuwah, And declare His praise in the islands." Verses 10-12. "Sing, O ye heavens; fr Yahuwah hath dne it: Shut, ye lwer parts f the earth:

Break frth int singing, ye muntains, O frest, and every tree therein: Fr Yahuwah hath redeemed Jacb, And glrified Himself in Israel." Isaiah 44:23. Frm Herd's dungen, where in disappintment and perplexity cncerning the Saviur's wrk, Jhn the Baptist watched and waited, he sent tw f his disciples t Yahushua with the message: "Art Thu He that shuld cme, r d we lk fr anther?" Matthew 11:3. The Saviur did nt at nce answer the disciples' questin. As they std wndering at His silence, the afflicted were cming t Him. The vice f the Mighty Healer penetrated the deaf ear. A wrd, a tuch f His hand, pened the blind eyes t behld the light f day, the scenes f nature, the faces f friends, and the face f the Deliverer. His vice reached the ears f the dying, and they arse in health and vigr. Paralyzed demniacs beyed His wrd, their madness left them, and they wrshiped Him. The pr peasants and labrers, wh were shunned by the rabbis as unclean, gathered abut Him, and He spke t them the wrds f eternal life. Thus the day wre away, the disciples f Jhn seeing and hearing all. At last Yahushua called them t Him, and bade them g and tell Jhn what they had seen and heard, adding, "Blessed is he, whsever shall nt be ffended in Me." Verse 6. The disciples bre the message, and it was enugh. Jhn recalled the prphecy cncerning the Messiah, "Yahuwah hath aninted Me t preach gd tidings unt the meek; He hath sent Me t bind up the brkenhearted, t prclaim liberty t the captives, and the pening f the prisn t them that are bund; t prclaim the year f Yahuwah's favr, and... t cmfrt all that murn." Isaiah 61:1, 2. Yahushua f Nazareth was the Prmised One. The evidence f His divinity was seen in His ministry t the needs f suffering humanity. His glry was shwn in His cndescensin t ur lw estate. The wrks f Christ nt nly declared Him t be the Messiah, but shwed in what manner His kingdm was t be established. T Jhn was pened the same truth that had cme t Elijah in the desert, when "a great and strng wind rent the muntains, and brake in pieces the rcks befre Yahuwah; but Yahuwah was nt in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but Yahuwah was nt in the earthquake: and after the earthquake a fire; but Yahuwah was nt in the fire:" and after the fire, Yahuwah spke t the prphet by a still, small vice. 1 Kings 19:11, 12. S Yahushua was t d His wrk, nt by the verturning f thrnes and kingdms, nt with pmp and utward display, but thrugh speaking t the hearts f men by a life f mercy and self-sacrifice. The kingdm f Yahuwah cmes nt with utward shw. It cmes thrugh the gentleness f the inspiratin f His wrd, thrugh the inward wrking f His Spirit, the fellwship f the sul with Him wh is its life. The greatest manifestatin f its pwer is seen in human nature brught t the perfectin f the character f Christ.

The fllwers f Christ are t be the light f the wrld; but Yahuwah des nt bid them make an effrt t shine. He des nt apprve f any self-satisfied endeavr t display superir gdness. He desires that their suls shall be imbued with the principles f heaven; then, as they cme in cntact with the wrld, they will reveal the light that is in them. Their steadfast fidelity in every act f life will be a means f illuminatin. Wealth r high psitin, cstly equipment, architecture r furnishings, are nt essential t the advancement f the wrk f Yahuwah; neither are achievements that win applause frm men and administer t vanity. Wrldly display, hwever impsing, is f n value in Yahuwah's sight. Abve the seen and tempral, He values the unseen and eternal. The frmer is f wrth nly as it expresses the latter. The chicest prductins f art pssess n beauty that can cmpare with the beauty f character, which is the fruit f the Hly Spirit's wrking in the sul. When Yahuwah gave His Sn t ur wrld, He endwed human beings with imperishable riches--riches cmpared with which the treasured wealth f men since the wrld began is nthingness. Christ came t the earth and std befre the children f men with the harded lve f eternity, and this is the treasure that, thrugh ur cnnectin with Him, we are t receive, t reveal, and t impart. Human effrt will be efficient in the wrk f Yahuwah just accrding t the cnsecrated devtin f the wrker--by revealing the pwer f the grace f Christ t transfrm the life. We are t be distinguished frm the wrld because Yahuwah has placed His seal upn us, because He manifests in us His wn character f lve. Our Redeemer cvers us with His righteusness. In chsing men and wmen fr His service, Yahuwah des nt ask whether they pssess wrldly wealth, learning, r elquence. He asks, "D they walk in such humility that I can teach them My way? Can I put My wrds int their lips? Will they represent Me?" Yahuwah can use every persn just in prprtin as He can put His Spirit int the sul temple. The wrk that He will accept is the wrk that reflects His image. His fllwers are t bear, as their credentials t the wrld, the ineffaceable characteristics f His immrtal principles. As Yahushua ministers in the streets f the cities, mthers with their sick and dying little nes in their arms press thrugh the thrng, seeking t cme within reach f His ntice. Behld these mthers, pale, weary, almst despairing, yet determined and persevering. Bearing their burden f suffering, they seek the Saviur. As they are crwded back by the surging thrng, Christ makes His way t them step by step, until He is clse by their side. Hpe springs up in their hearts. Their tears f gladness fall as they catch His attentin, and lk int the eyes expressing such pity and lve. Singling ut ne f the grup, the Saviur invites her cnfidence, saying, "What shall I d fr thee?" She sbs ut her great want, "Master, that Thu wuldest heal my child." Christ takes the little ne frm her arms, and disease flees at His tuch. The pallr f death is gne; the life-giving current flws thrugh the veins; the muscles receive strength. Wrds f cmfrt and peace are spken t the mther; and then anther case, just as urgent, is presented. Again Christ exercises His life-giving pwer, and all give praise and hnr t Him wh deth wnderful things.

We dwell much n the greatness f Christ's life. We speak f the wnderful things that He accmplished, f the miracles that He wrught. But His attentin t things accunted small is even higher prf f His greatness. Amng the Jews it was custmary fr children t be brught t sme rabbi, that he might lay his hands upn them in blessing; but the disciples thught the Saviur's wrk t imprtant t be interrupted in this way. When the mthers came desiring Him t bless their little nes, the disciples lked n them with disfavr. They thught these children t yung t be benefited by a visit t Yahushua, and cncluded that He wuld be displeased at their presence. But the Saviur understd the care and burden f the mthers wh were seeking t train their children accrding t the wrd f Yahuwah. He had heard their prayers. He Himself had drawn them int His presence. One mther with her child had left her hme t find Yahushua. On the way she tld a neighbr her errand, and the neighbr wished t have Yahushua bless her children. Thus several mthers came here tgether, with their little nes. Sme f the children had passed beynd the years f infancy t childhd and yuth. When the mthers made knwn their desire, Yahushua heard with sympathy the timid, tearful request. But He waited t see hw the disciples wuld treat them. When He saw the disciples reprving the mthers and sending them away, thinking t d Him a favr, He shwed them their errr, saying, "Suffer the little children t cme unt Me, and frbid them nt: fr f such is the kingdm f Yahuwah." Mark 10:14. He tk the children in His arms, He laid His hands upn them, and gave them the blessings fr which they came. The mthers were cmfrted. They returned t their hmes strengthened and blessed by the wrds f Christ. They were encuraged t take up their burden with new cheerfulness and t wrk hpefully fr their children. Culd the afterlife f that little grup be pened befre us, we shuld see the mthers recalling t the minds f their children the scene f that day, and repeating t them the lving wrds f the Saviur. We shuld see, t, hw ften, in after years, the memry f these wrds kept the children frm straying frm the path cast up fr the ransmed f Yahuwah. Christ is tday the same cmpassinate Saviur as when He walked amng men. He is as verily the helper f mthers nw as when He gathered the little nes t His arms in Judea. The children f ur hearths are as much the purchase f His bld as were the children f lng ag. Yahushua knws the burden f every mther's heart. He wh had a mther that struggled with pverty and privatin, sympathizes with every mther in her labrs. He wh made a lng jurney in rder t relieve the anxius heart f a Canaanite wman will d as much fr the mthers f tday. He wh gave back t the widw f Nain her nly sn, and in His agny upn the crss remembered His wn mther, is tuched tday by the mther's srrw. In every grief and every need, He will cmfrt and help. Let mthers cme t Yahushua with their perplexities. They will find grace sufficient t aid them in the care f their children. The gates are pen fr every mther wh wuld lay her burdens at the Saviur's feet. He wh said, "Suffer the little children t cme unt Me, and frbid them nt" (Mark 10:14), still invites mthers t bring their little nes t be blessed by Him.

In the children wh were brught in cntact with Him, Yahushua saw the men and wmen wh shuld be heirs f His grace and subjects f His kingdm, and sme f whm wuld becme martyrs fr His sake. He knew that these children wuld listen t Him and accept Him as their Redeemer far mre readily than wuld grwn-up peple, many f whm were the wrldly-wise and hardhearted. In teaching, He came dwn t their level. He, the Majesty f heaven, answered their questins and simplified His imprtant lessns t meet their childish understanding. He planted in their minds the seeds f truth, which in after years wuld spring up and bear fruit unt eternal life. When Yahushua tld the disciples nt t frbid the children t cme t Him, He was speaking t His fllwers in all ages--t fficers f the ekklesia, ministers, helpers, and all Christians. Yahushua is drawing the children, and He bids us, "Suffer them t cme;" as if He wuld say, They will cme, if yu d nt hinder them. Let nt yur un-christlike character misrepresent Yahushua. D nt keep the little nes away frm Him by yur cldness and harshness. Never give them cause t feel that heaven wuld nt be a pleasant place t them if yu were there. D nt speak f religin as smething that children cannt understand, r act as if they were nt expected t accept Christ in their childhd. D nt give them the false impressin that the religin f Christ is a religin f glm, and that in cming t the Saviur they must give up all that makes life jyful. As the Hly Spirit mves upn the hearts f the children, c-perate with His wrk. Teach them that the Saviur is calling them, that nthing can affrd Him greater jy than fr them t give themselves t Him in the blm and freshness f their years. The Saviur regards with infinite tenderness the suls whm He has purchased with His bld. They are the claim f His lve. He lks upn them with unutterable lnging. His heart is drawn ut, nt nly t the besttrained and mst attractive children, but t thse wh by inheritance and thrugh neglect have bjectinable traits f character. Many parents d nt understand hw much they are respnsible fr these traits in their children. They have nt the tenderness and wisdm t deal with the erring nes whm they have made what they are. But Yahushua lks upn these children with pity. He traces frm cause t effect. The Christian wrker may be Christ's agent in drawing these faulty and erring nes t the Saviur. By wisdm and tact he may bind them t his heart, he may give curage and hpe, and thrugh the grace f Christ may see them transfrmed in character, s that f them it may be said, "Of such is the kingdm f Yahuwah." All day the peple had thrnged the steps f Christ and His disciples as He taught beside the sea. They had listened t His gracius wrds, s simple and s plain that they were as the balm f Gilead t their suls. The healing f His divine hand had brught health t the sick and life t the dying. The day had seemed t them like heaven n earth, and they were uncnscius f hw lng it had been since they had eaten anything. The sun was sinking in the west, and yet the peple lingered. Finally the disciples came t Christ, urging that fr their wn sake the multitude shuld be sent away. Many had cme frm far and had eaten nthing since mrning. In the surrunding twns and villages they might be able t btain fd. But Yahushua said, "Give ye them t eat." Matthew 14:16. Then, turning t Philip, He questined, "Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat?" Jhn 6:5.

Philip lked ver the sea f heads and thught hw impssible it wuld be t prvide fd fr s great a cmpany. He answered that tw hundred pennywrth f bread wuld nt be enugh t divide amng them s that each might have a little. Yahushua inquired hw much fd culd be fund amng the cmpany. "There is a lad here," said Andrew; "which hath five barley laves, and tw small fishes: but what are they amng s many?" Verse 9. Yahushua directed that these be brught t Him. Then He bade the disciples seat the peple n the grass. When this was accmplished, He tk the fd, "and lking up t heaven, He blessed, and brake, and gave the laves t His disciples, and the disciples t the multitude. And they did all eat, and were filled: and they tk up f the fragments that remained twelve baskets full." Matthew 14:19, 20. It was by a miracle f divine pwer that Christ fed the multitude; yet hw humble was the fare prvided--nly the fishes and barley laves that were the daily fare f the fisher-flk f Galilee. Christ culd have spread fr the peple a rich repast, but fd prepared merely fr the gratificatin f appetite wuld have cnveyed n lessn fr their gd. Thrugh this miracle Christ desired t teach a lessn f simplicity. If men tday were simple in their habits, living in harmny with nature's laws, as did Adam and Eve in the beginning, there wuld be an abundant supply fr the needs f the human family. But selfishness and the indulgence f appetite have brught sin and misery, frm excess n the ne hand, and frm want n the ther. Yahushua did nt seek t attract the peple t Him by gratifying the desire fr luxury. T that great thrng, weary and hungry after the lng, exciting day, the simple fare was an assurance bth f His pwer and f His tender care fr them in the cmmn needs f life. The Saviur has nt prmised His fllwers the luxuries f the wrld; their lt may be shut in by pverty; but His wrd is pledged that their need shall be supplied, and He has prmised that which is better than earthly gd--the abiding cmfrt f His wn presence. After the multitude had been fed, there was an abundance f fd left. Yahushua bade His disciples, "Gather up the fragments that remain, that nthing be lst." Jhn 6:12. These wrds meant mre than putting the fd int baskets. The lessn was twfld. Nthing is t be wasted. We are t let slip n tempral advantage. We shuld neglect nthing that wuld serve t benefit a human being. Let everything be gathered up that will relieve the necessities f earth's hungry nes. With the same carefulness are we t treasure the bread frm heaven t satisfy the needs f the sul. By every wrd f Yahuwah we are t live. Nthing that Yahuwah has spken is t be lst. Nt ne wrd that cncerns ur eternal salvatin are we t neglect. Nt ne wrd is t fall useless t the grund. The miracle f the laves teaches dependence upn Yahuwah. When Christ fed the five thusand, the fd was nt nigh at hand. Apparently He had n means at His cmmand. There He was, with five thusand men, besides wmen and children, in the wilderness. He had nt invited the multitude t fllw Him thither. Eager t be in His presence, they had cme withut invitatin r cmmand; but He knew that after listening all day t His instructin they were hungry and faint. They were far frm hme, and the night was at hand. Many f them were withut means t purchase fd. He wh fr their sake had fasted frty days in the wilderness, wuld nt suffer them t return fasting t their hmes.

The prvidence f Yahuwah had placed Yahushua where He was, and He depended n His heavenly Father fr means t relieve the necessity. When we are brught int strait places, we are t depend n Yahuwah. In every emergency we are t seek help frm Him wh has infinite resurces at His cmmand. In this miracle, Christ received frm the Father; He imparted t the disciples, the disciples t the peple, and the peple t ne anther. S all wh are united t Christ will receive frm Him the bread f life, and impart it t thers. His disciples are the appinted means f cmmunicatin between Christ and the peple. When the disciples heard the Saviur's directin, "Give ye them t eat," all the difficulties arse in their minds. They questined, "Shall we g int the villages t buy fd?" But what said Christ? "Give ye them t eat." The disciples brught t Yahushua all they had; but He did nt invite them t eat. He bade them serve the peple. The fd multiplied in His hands, and the hands f the disciples, reaching ut t Christ, were never unfilled. The little stre was sufficient fr all. When the multitude had been fed, the disciples ate with Yahushua f the precius, heaven-supplied fd. As we see the necessities f the pr, the ignrant, the afflicted, hw ften ur hearts sink. We questin, "What avail ur feeble strength and slender resurces t supply this terrible necessity? Shall we nt wait fr smene f greater ability t direct the wrk, r fr sme rganizatin t undertake it?" Christ says, "Give ye them t eat." Use the means, the time, the ability, yu have. Bring yur barley laves t Yahushua. Thugh yur resurces may nt be sufficient t feed thusands, they may suffice t feed ne. In the hand f Christ they may feed many. Like the disciples, give what yu have. Christ will multiply the gift. He will reward hnest, simple reliance upn Him. That which seemed but a meager supply will prve t be a rich feast."he that sweth sparingly shall reap als sparingly; and he that sweth with blessings shall reap als with blessings.... Yahuwah is able t make all grace abund unt yu; that ye,having always all sufficiency in everything, may abund unt every gd wrk: as it is written "He hath scattered abrad, He hath given t the pr; His righteusness abide frever. "And He that supplieth seed t the swer and bread fr fd, shall supply and multiply yur seed fr swing, and increase the fruits f yur righteusness: ye being enriched in everything unt all liberality." 2 Crinthians 9:6-11, R.V., margin.
