Matrimony: Couples are asked to consult with our priest at least six months in advance of the intended date to allow time for marriage preparation, including the Diocesan Program. Ministry to the Sick: Please notify us if someone you know is homebound and would like to be added to our Communion call list, or would like to receive the Sacrament of the Sick. October 23, 2016 Confirmation I - Grade 8 students will meet in the church hall on October 23rd & 30th. Class begins at 8:00 a.m. followed by 9:30 a.m. Mass with their class. Grades 6 & 7: Students attend the 9:30 a.m. Mass, followed by class in the church hall until 11:30 a.m. Confirmation II - The next class for Grade 9 Students will be on October 30th. Class begins in the church hall at 9:30 a.m. and then attend 11:00 a.m. Mass with their class. Gr. 3, 4, & 5 Tuesdays (4:30 5:30 p.m.) Gr. 1 & 2 Thursdays (4:30 5:30 p.m.) PRESCHOOL PROGRAM Children age 3 yrs to Kindergarten who are preregistered for the Preschool Program will come to the 9:30 a.m. Mass with their families. After receiving a blessing by the presiding priest, their teachers will take them downstairs for the program. Parents will then pick up their children downstairs after Mass. St. Vincent de Paul Annual Hat, Coat, Scarf and Mitten Collection The St. Vincent de Paul Society is collecting hats, gloves, mittens, winter coats, jackets (all sizes) and scarves for the needy. Donations can be new or gently used items. Please place the items in the bins located at the church entrances by November 1st. World Mission Sunday: Today s second collection is for the Propagation of Faith. Through your generosity, we are able to bring the message of God s love to the poorest of the poor. Thank you to all who participate in this corporal work of mercy. Hurricane Matthew Collection - October 29-30, 2016 Next weekend there will be a special collection for the people of the Church affected by Hurricane Matthew. These funds will be used to support the efforts of Catholic Relief Services and Catholic Charities USA in their long term efforts to restore communities after widespread destruction. THE YEAR OF MERCY IS COMING TO AN END: We can always use a reminder of the works of Mercy that can be part of our everyday life: Give alms to the poor Instruct the ignorant Feed the hungry Give drink to the thirsty Shelter the homeless Admonish the sinner Forgive injuries Pray for the living and the dead We pray for the repose of the soul of Jamie Tavares whose funeral Mass was held here on Friday morning.
